Blair - something you won't hear in the USA
Posted on 10/08/2001 10:54:49 AM PDT by NewAmsterdam
Being a humble but eternally grateful subject of our Great Leader, Our Saviour of Humanity, Our Grand Wizzard of Just Revenge, Our Mullah of Morality, Our Grand Vizier of the Grand Vision, I can vouchsafe that The Reverend Anthony Blair is totally bonkers. This bloke is supposed to re-order the whole world?????
For your information, after some four years in power he hasn't been able even to re-order such a minor thing as the British National Health Service! Just so you know, the only answer to the health crisis he could come up with is that Britain will export its patients to hospitals in Germany and France (because there is no place for them in Britain) and import doctors from the same countries and even further afield (because no Brit wants to study to become such a lowely creature as a doctor any longer). This is no joke! It is the truth! At the same time, of course, he will proclaim that Britain is the only true free economy in Europe and booming away into the skies, whereas his 'European partners' are stuck in a socialist rot which forces them to live second-rate lives. But no worries! Tony will sort those down-trodden Continentals out as well. At no extra cost!
Don't put your trust in this megalomaniac fool. If it goes on like this could someone please pull the plug on Britain?

NewAmsterdam you already posted this today, lets wait until the war is over before you and some of the Americans here get back to trashing my country.

I am not an American. I am in Britain. My aim is to trash Blair because the world seems to get a very one-sided view of the man. If Britain could throw up a true new Churchill I would not post anything like this, but unfortunately that is not the case. I think you understand what I mean?

I haven't agreed with PM Blair's politics up to the attacks of 9-11. I sort of thought of him as the Limey Bill Clinton. But I have to say this, his friendship to America, his resolve during this crisis, and his leadership of Great Britain at this time have been spectacular.
IMHO, Mr. Blair is doing a fine job on the international stage. As far as his policies domestically, I will leave that to be argued by his countrymen.
God Bless America, and may God bless Great Britain as well.

Just as President Bush informed America that all policies and all international relationships would be reviewed in due time, I think many Americans are taking the same approach to Prime Minister Blair. Certainly your insider's view is welcomed and appreciated here but who would have thought just months ago that the World Trade Center would have been felled, that we would be allies of Russia in an Asian based war, and that GWB's approval ratings would be at 92%? I think Americans (and Freepers) will bide their time and form their own independent opinions about Blair and he seems to be gaining popularity here. A huckster? Perhaps. But......

Most of us over here do not care for Blair's general politics, but we are thankful to him, and the British people for their support at this time.

Aye! I have been impressed with Mr. Blair throughout this crisis. IMHO, he's basically a good person, but has been rather weak. He needed a strong leader to be partnered with, and he has found one in President Bush. I think some of President Bush's courage, strength, and resolve have rubbed off on Mr. Blair.

So he has to bark louder and act like a jester. Well said. I remember him yapping up a storm about genocide in Yugoslavia. Puffed-up self-righeousness seems to be the role Tony plays best. As long as he's playing it on our behalf I won't complain too loudly. The fact that his self-service coincides with what's right is perhaps attributable to divine serendipity.

Don't put your trust in this megalomaniac fool. I never put my trust in megalomaniac(al) fools. But I will put my trust in his forces. If he will watch our six (and our twelve sometimes) I will stand by him while he does so.
There will be another day to discuss neoconservatism vs. new democratism. Today it's US vs THEM.
Tony Blair is an US. G-d bless him and Great Britain.
And G-d bless George W. Bush and the United States of America.
Shalom.

I can understand that Americans are very pleased with Blair's support. But in the end of the day Blair is supposed to work in the interests of the people of Britain, not of the US. Although our interests at the moment are mostly the same in this case, he still should present himself as the PM of Britain. But he doesn't. He wants to be world-leader. And I do not want him to be world-leader. I want him to lose the next election and get some other job.

Tony this might explain this double post:

As a Yank, I'm very grateful for Britain's staunch support, however, I have disliked and will continue to dislike Blair as a person and his tyrranical policies. I pray that Britain will throw off his oppressive yoke and give the boot to him and others (of both parties) who think like him. Where is Baroness Maggie when you need her?

I would like to throw my two cents in here concerning Mr. Blair. My wife and I have discussed his change over the last four weeks. We have three premises for our conclusion. First Mr. Blair was quite an admirer of willy, we don't know if it was because Mr. Blair thought willy was wonderful or if Mr. Blair bought a bill of goods from willy. It doesn't really matter. Secondly, because he admired willy he patterned a great deal of his own political workings after willy. Thirdly, after watching President Bush handle the current situation, Mr. Blair realized how shallow all he (and willy) had been doing really was. We think he is terribly embarresed about his prior dealings with willy and is determined to make amends. If this is true we compliment him on being man enough to change, more power to him, and we are glad he has changed.

re : Blair is acting like a perfect side-kick. He knows UK is just another third world country.
Lads I like Lionbutts way of saying lets support the Brit Boys going in along side his own countrymen.
Cheers for that Tony
To: NewAmsterdam
For me Blair's stock is very low because of his affinity for Clintonia. So he's a no-go for me.
But ...
he speaks beautifully.

Are you sure you are really British? Some of your posts remind me of Lord Haw Haw.
