United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories Francesca Albanese criticized Israel for the operation in which Noa Argamani (25), Almog Meir Jan (21), Andrey Kozlov (27), and Shlomi Ziv (40), four of the hostages who were kidnapped from the Nova music festival on October 7, were rescued. "Relieved that four hostages have been released," Albanese wrote on X, using the word 'released' instead of the more accurate 'rescued.' The comedian said it was a 'puzzling paradox' that rape jokes were 'completely unacceptable and unthinkable' - unless they were about prison. Maher said such jokes would be made more often since the former president's convictions for falsifying business records last Thursday.

Perhaps anticipating his death, Joseph met often with apostles and other close associates to restore the temple endowment prior to the completion of the Nauvoo temple. I ought to know about that as I am one of the oldest members of the church. A good deal is being made of a form of...

Extended prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy (177Lu-PSMA) beyond six cycles is an effective and well-tolerated treatment for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer patients, according to new research. Selected patients who received extended treatment—either continuously or following a treatment break—experienced a favorable median survival of 31.3 months from the first administration. Said Wolfgang P. Fendler, MD., "It may be beneficial to extend the use of 177Lu-PSMA, however, systematic data on safety and the antitumor effect of 177Lu-PSMA radiopharmaceutical therapy beyond six cycles is scarce." The multicenter retrospective analysis included 111 metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer patients who received more than six cycles...

Ronald Reagan, a former Democrat, used to say, “I didn’t leave the Democrat Party; it left me.” Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) seems to be undergoing a similar transformation. Elected as a progressive Democrat who supported Sen. Bernie Sanders's failed run for the presidency, he recently told a reporter, "I'm not a progressive; I just identified myself as a regular Democrat. Now, eight years ago, I was a progressive, but the situation's changed, and I‘ve been clear that I didn‘t leave that label. That label left me.” Don’t get me wrong, I don’t fully equate Fetterman leaving his party the way...

In 1929, almost a century ago, the great economist Ludwig von Mises published “A Critique of Interventionism.”It’s written in plain language and is free online. He described how government intervention in the free market is not socialism, but eventually “leads to socialism because government intervention is not only superfluous and useless, but also harmful. ... It lowers labor productivity and redirects production along lines of political command, rather than consumer satisfaction.”He died in 1973 at the good old age of 92 and was the teacher of Friedrich von Hayek, who won the Nobel economics prize in 1974.I bring up Mises...
