In pro-gun-regulation Illinois — where politicians would rather play gun control politics than fight the murderous street gangs — a young man was admitted to the hospital. Sam Insley, 16, of Oak Lawn, wasn't admitted with a gun problem. Sam had a tonsil problem. "It was an infected tonsil," Mary Rita Insley told me of her son Sam, a strapping, 6-foot-2-inch, 195-pound lacrosse player at St. Rita High School on the Southwest Side. "Yes, he's a big kid, but regardless of his age and stature, my husband and I were with him the entire time he was there." Sam was...

Featured Term (selected at random):ELOHIM the Hebrew word most frequently used for God. It appears several thousand times in the Old Testament. It was also used in a plural sense to designate heathen gods (Genesis 35:2, Exodus 18:11). When Jesus was heard to say on the Cross "Eli, Eli, lama sabachtani," he was using a modified form of Elohim (Matthew 27:46). All items in this dictionary are from Fr. Reid & McConnell are reportedly about to change the Senate rules It’s probably a harbinger of sell-outs to come. But Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell is apparently about to conclude an agreement with Majority Leader Harry Reid which would sell out pro-gunners and decimate minority rights under the Senate rules. This change could occur as early as Wednesday. If enacted, it could handcuff pro-gun forces and keep them from defeating the most radical initiatives aimed at restricting our Second Amendment rights. The first of two changes would allow Harry Reid -– and only Harry Reid –- to circumvent the hurdles...

Police have revealed the chilling array of deadly weapons they seized in just four months - including a crossbow and a traditional samurai sword. The fearsome arsenal, which even includes a gold-plated axe, was put on display yesterday by West Midlands Police as part of a new anti-weapons campaign. Other dangerous arms featured in the grim haul are nunchuks, knuckle dusters, a giant flick knife and crude planks of wood with nails hammered into them. The force, which is the UK's second largest, has launched its campaign alongside doctors and the families of victims of knife crime. Superintendent Basit Javid...

The objective of Obama's - Laser Focused - Purpose Driven Life: (Video)

Four years ago, as his first term began, President Barack Obama ditched the name Global War on Terror (GWOT). Instead of fighting Al-Qaida-inspired terrorism around the world, the U.S. would conduct "overseas contingency operations" (OCO). Obama's act of oratorical magic -- poof, the global war has ended -- became an awkward problem, however. Real world events subsequently demonstrated that the word "overseas" was at best misleading, if not outright wrong. Detroit, New York and Portland, Ore., certainly aren't overseas, yet militant Islamist-inspired terrorists tried (and fortunately failed) to bomb all three -- Detroit on Christmas 2009, New York's Times...

It’s just like Breaking Bad, but replace the mild-mannered high school chemistry teacher with a prominent Catholic priest. Monsignor Kevin Wallin of Bridgeport, Conn., is facing trial for selling up to $9,000 of methamphetamine a week and has been relieved of his ecumenical duties after superiors learned of his alleged penchant for gay sex on church grounds. The 61-year-old was suspended from duties at Bridgeport’s St. Augustine Cathedral in May as a result of his increasingly erratic behavior. “We became aware that he was acting out sexually — with men — in the church rectory,” Brian Wallace, a spokesman for...

For months, Jose Godinez had to put his dreams of becoming an immigration lawyer on hold. The 26-year-old passed the Florida Bar exam and earned a law degree from Florida State University. But he had been denied a law license from the Florida Board of Bar Examiners because he is in the U.S. illegally. Not anymore. He now has a two-year work permit, a driver’s license and a Social Security card, after qualifying for a federal immigration program for people who were brought illegally into the U.S. as youngsters

A second inflammatory video featuring Islamic vigilantes emerged today, which appeared to show members of the group hurling homophobic abuse at a man and telling him to leave their "Muslim area". The footage, from a group calling themselves Muslim Patrol, shows the gang abusing the unnamed man who was walking by himself in Whitechapel, East London. Today Scotland Yard said they were investigating the video, which was posted on YouTube. Muslim leaders also condemned the thugs' behaviour. It comes after the gang uploaded another video called "The Truth About Saturday Night", in which white women were called "naked animals with...

CBS investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson has been one of the few members of the media willing to hold the Obama Administration’s feet to the fire over Benghazigate. Despite Obama et al.’s toxic mixture of silence, prevarication, and obfuscation, Attkisson has doggedly pursued the truth about the September 2012 attacks that left four Americans dead. Today, she spotlighted the list of questions that the Obama Administration has yet to answer:

There's a super storm raging over our economy that's been seeded and fueled by the federal government over a period of the past several decades. And it's literally costing the country trillions of dollars in GDP per year. It’s not merely garden-variety government waste that's the problem either. It's monumental stupidity by the government, combined with venial cupidity by voters who think they can get others to pay for their free lunch. This government-created storm has, more than any other factor, contributed to the fiscal crisis; a crisis that is creating more expansive government programs, robbing us of more GDP,...

And Obama's advisor (Jarrett) went on to compare the current president with Abraham Lincoln. "I think you can't compare the Civil War to what we're going through," she said. "But we've been through a really tough time in our country. And seeing how Lincoln had to work so hard just to make the progress that he did, how he never gave up, and how resilient he was, and [how] he tried a whole range of different strategies. And I think obviously that resonated with the president. And so it kind of reaffirmed what he already knew, which is you have...

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama's lofty ideals from his inaugural address ran smack into reality Tuesday on the first working day of his second term.
-
On Monday, President Barack Obama delivered a monumental address to the nation. It wasn't monumental in terms of rhetoric -- in fact, it wasn't even memorable. It was monumental because it signaled for the first time just how grand Obama's ambitions for the left are. No longer is the left content to wage a war against Constitutional principles on behalf of a Marxist philosophical system. Now they will attempt to convince the American people that Constitutional principles dictate Marxism. Obama opened his address by quoting the Declaration of Independence: "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." The Declaration of Independence...
