Russian President Vladimir Putin's Syrian gambit was a fatal mistake that may soon destroy Russia and Putin himself. Putin’s strategy in Syria makes the Titanic look watertight. It’s gotten so bad for Putin in the Syrian quicksand that a Russian analyst, Leonid Issaev, who actually lives in Russia, just published an article in al-Jazeera entitled, “Russia is at a dead-end in Syria, Russia is struggling and failing to find a way out of the Syrian quagmire.” Mr. Issaev’s thesis is that “the Kremlin’s gamble to use the conflict in Syria to normalize relations with the West after the disaster in...

President Trump on Monday offered to help a critically ill British child who has become a flashpoint in the U.K. debate over whether the government should have a say in individual matters pertaining to life and death. Trump tweeted his support for Charlie Gard, a 10-month old infant on life support due to complications from a mitochondrial disease. The controversy around Gard has engulfed the Vatican, which infuriated some on the right by not siding entirely with the parents who want to seek experimental medication in the U.S. or bring their child home to die. “If we can help little...

Former President Barack Obama seems to be feeling nostalgic for his old job, meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in Monday for 40 minutes. The Korea Herald reported that Moon spoke about his recent meetings with President Trump in Washington and asked Obama for his advice on how to improve that relationship. The meeting came after Obama spoke at the Asian Leadership Conference in Indonesia. There he attacked Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate change accord.

This week, The Heritage Foundation is updating its Voter Fraud Database with 89 new entries, including 75 convictions and a slew of overturned elections and civil fines targeting vote fraudsters. With these latest additions, the database now documents 581 cases of proven voter fraud and 848 criminal convictions. Heritage’s database proves not only that voter fraud is real and ongoing, but also that it is not isolated to any particular state or region. With the addition of cases from Nebraska and Oklahoma—two states previously unaccounted for in the database—Heritage now has documented proof of electoral fraud in 47 states. This...

NEW YORK CITY — As left-wing Mayor Bill de Blasio designates millions of dollars of taxpayer money to pay the lawyer fees of illegal immigrants, New York’s failing subway system is falling into greater disrepair — with a state of emergency being declared by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and one straphanger spotting that her subway train was being held together with a zip tie. De Blasio earmarked $16 million in his budget proposal in April to pay the legal fees of people in the Big Apple illegally — part of a broader push from de Blasio to remove any...

I have to give it to Senator Chuck Grassley, he is a man of integrity, and he has been demanding answers from the FBI on the “fake dossier” on Trump for quite awhile now. He is now asking DAG Rod Rosenstein for updates on three active investigations into acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe. They are as follows: The Department of Justice Office of Inspector General is examining his failure to recuse himself from the Clinton investigation due to his political relationship with Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe. McAuliffe had been given money by Clinton to give to McCabe’s wife for her...

For years the U.S. has worked to isolate the Iranian regime on the international stage, but Iranian President Hasan Rouhani sees an opportunity to reverse that situation, proposing on Sunday that Iran adopt policies to leave the United States isolated. And he pointed as examples of such “isolation” already happening recent meetings of the U.N. Security Council and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), an international counterterrorist finance and anti-money laundering body. “We should not allow the U.S. hand to expand and become powerful,” Iran’s “moderate” president told a meeting of judiciary officials in Tehran. “Our foreign policy should be...

Versailles (France) (AFP) - French President Emmanuel Macron said Monday that the country was ready to embark on a "radically new path" after presidential and parliamentary elections swept him and his new centrist party into power. "Until now, we were on the wrong track," Macron said in a solemn address to both houses of parliament gathered at the Palace of Versailles. The 39-year-old French leader, elected in May, laid out a series of proposals including a new law that will reduce the number of lawmakers in both houses of parliament by one third. He also proposed that the electoral system...

A tall, husky man with a large machine gun stands next to a missile in a field just south of Damascus, Syria. It’s a warm morning in May, and pale yellow butterflies flutter around him. Rabieh is a Hezbollah fighter stationed in the area, and like other Hezbollah members who spoke to Newsweek, he asked to be identified by a pseudonym because he isn’t authorized to speak to the press. "God willing, we will soon liberate Syria and go back to our country,” Rabieh says. "But until that happens, we will stay here until our last breath.” "Since we went...

In my opinion, there is no economist alive today who has done more to eloquently, articulately, and persuasively advance the principles of economic freedom, limited government, individual liberty, and a free society than Thomas Sowell. In terms of both his quantity of work (at least 40 books and several thousand newspaper columns) and the consistently excellent and crystal-clear quality of his writing, I don’t think any living free-market economist even comes close to matching Sowell’s prolific record of writing about economics.

This piece was co-authored by Craig Shirley and Scott Mauer. Some years ago an angry and frustrated taxpayer flew his private plane into the Internal Revenue Service building in Texas. Most liberals commentators wrung their hands over the act but failed to ask, “Why?” What did the IRS do to so infuriate this taxpayer into taking his own life to make a political statement? During the American Revolution, this would have been considered an act of courage and monuments would have been made to the man. After all, the Framers believed man was more important than institutions. But now it seems...

He has also met with and has had phone conversations with Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez throughout the spring, according to two sources. “Hey man, it's only the future of the world in your hands,” Obama joked with Perez in one conversation, according to a DNC aide. [snip]Obama’s former political adviser David Simas, who is now the CEO of the Obama Foundation, has also been making a string of calls to DNC officials in recent months. Sources familiar with Obama’s meetings with members of Congress declined to offer the names of all of the lawmakers he has met with,...

You can’t make this stuff up. Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren refused to take a DNA test mailed to her by Indian-American entrepreneur V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai, who’s running against her for her U.S. Senate seat. “I’m deeply saddened @SenWarren refused my thoughtful (gift-wrapped) Birthday Gift: the 23&me DNA Test Kit,” Ayyadurai tweeted Sunday. “Most unfortunate! #FakeIndian.” Ayyadurai then posted hilarious screenshots of a DNA test kit he purchased online as a birthday gift for Warren, who turned 68 in June. Boston-based businessman and inventor V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai is the real deal. Ayyadura, a Republican, received a Ph.D. and his undergraduate degree...

Famed atheist Richard Dawkins has said an article claiming "hypocritical leftists" are willing to give "Muslim extremists a pass" - but not Christians - is "sadly very true" and "utterly disgraceful." The evolutionary biologist recently took to Twitter to share a New York Post article titled "Hypocritical leftists willing to give Muslim extremists a pass." "OK, it's the NY Post," he tweeted. "But it happens to be true. Sadly, very true. And utterly disgraceful."

Another powerful tech investor is apologizing for his inappropriate behavior toward women in the industry. "I made advances toward multiple women in work-related situations, where it was clearly inappropriate," Dave McClure, the cofounder of accelerator and investment firm 500 Startups, wrote in a post he titled "I'm a creep. I'm sorry." A day earlier, "Shark Tank" star and venture capitalist Chris Sacca, an early investor in Twitter and Uber, admitted that he has contributed to tech's sexist culture. The admissions come on the heels of a disturbing story about Binary Capital investor Justin Caldbeck. Six female founders, three of whom...

CNN’s (aka #FraudNewsNetwork) TV viewership numbers are tanking. CNN incurred a significant decrease in TV viewers in June as the month progressed thanks in large part to President Trump pointing out their media bias and false reporting, For the month of May, CNN averaged 821,000 viewers per hour throughout the entire day and 1.12 million total viewers during the prime time hours. Comparably, FOX News averaged 1.42 million viewers per hour throughout the entire day and 2.24 million viewers during prime time, or twice as many viewers during prime time hours as CNN.
