The idea of 2020 hopefuls Joe Biden or Pete Buttigieg facing off against President Trump next November would be a tragedy as the Democratic party continues to forge ahead without a true frontrunner, Rep. She answered, “None,” before characterizing their hypothetical nominations as “tragic.” Host Mehdi Hasan asked.“But if you had to pick one? If one of them is the candidate for your party, who would you rather it be?” Omar...

Republicans on Thursday ramped up their skepticism of the testimony delivered by US diplomat Bill Taylor — which undercut White House claims Ukraine aid wasn't tied to an investigation that could help him politically — and the Senate's No. 2 Republican Sen. John Thune walked back earlier concerns he expressed about Taylor's opening statement. Republicans in the Senate have...

..Raoul Follereau, the French-born pioneer advocate for people afflicted with leprosy, wrote: “I had a dream – a man came to the judgment seat of God. He said, ‘You see, Lord, I have done nothing evil, dishonest or impious. Lord, my hands are clean’. ‘But,’ says the Lord, ‘They are empty’!” Nowhere is this spelled out more clearly than in Matthew’s account of the Last Judgment. Those who are condemned, the goats who take their place on the judge’s left hand, plead their innocence on the grounds that they simply did not advert to the plight of their brothers and...

But Hunt said he was obligated to introduce the bill despite those challenges. In Massachusetts, unlike other states, citizens have what’s known as a “right of free petition” allowing them to file proposed bills directly through their legislators. That’s exactly what happened in this case, Hunt said: A woman in his district came to him this year requesting legislation, and he, in turn, filed it on her behalf. He didn’t think he’d get such a harsh reaction, he said. “It’s funny and ironic that the constitutional provision that allows this constituent a conduit to free speech and proposing her idea...

Hmmm. Interesting! Steve Forbes being interviewed on CNBC recently was asked about the possibility of President Trump being impeached. He said removal of Trump is “Not going to happen.” But after that he said something very interesting: "The thing to watch for is what Attorney General Barr is gonna be releasing in the next few weeks in terms of his investigations of what was happening with the CIA, the FBI, and certain White House officials leading up to the 2016 election and afterwards. A LOT OF BAD THINGS WERE DONE. . . . "

Pennsylvania’s Republican legislature introduced a ‘heartbeat’ abortion bill that would regulate abortions in line with fetal heartbeats; the Commonwealth was the 19th state to introduce such legislation. Governor Tom Wolf affirmed that he will veto any such bill. The proposed bills, similar to that of other states, would ban abortions have a fetal heartbeat can be detected. The opposition’s argument is that such legislation is a burden to women because a heartbeat can be detected early, even before a woman may know she is pregnant. The proposed heartbeat bill would allow a woman to seek an abortion if her health...
