The woman was not injured but understandably shaken by the incident. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the event occurred shortly after 8 a.m. on Wednesday, on US-74 in Swain County. "You may not believe me, but I just had a bald eagle drop a cat through my windshield. It absolutely shattered my windshield," the woman told a 911 operator. "I do believe you, honestly," the operator responded. "I...

Daily Readings from the USCCBMemorial of Saint Andrew Dŭng-Lạc, Priest, and Companions, Martyrs“I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.” Luke 21:3–4We must all see ourselves as this poor widow by offering our “whole livelihood” to Christ. Everything we have is a gift from God, and it must be offered back to God, sacrificially, as our gift to Him. The material offering made by this poor widow was two small coins worth very...

The Trump administration’s much-hyped Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has dissolved with months left on its mandate, federal officials say. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Scott Kupor confirmed to Reuters earlier this month that DOGE “doesn’t exist” as a “centralized entity.” *** “Their work will conclude no later than July 4, 2026 – A smaller Government, with more efficiency and less bureaucracy, will be the perfect gift to America on the 250th Anniversary of The Declaration of Independence,” Trump wrote on Truth Social at the time. “I am confident they will succeed!” *** “This is the chainsaw for bureaucracy,”...

I. 1. And First, "Think not that I am come to destroy the Law, or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." The ritual or ceremonial law, delivered by Moses to the children of Israel, containing all the injunctions and ordinances which related to the old sacrifices and service of the temple, our Lord indeed did come to destroy, to dissolve, and utterly abolish. To this bear all the Apostles witness; not only Barnabas and Paul, who vehemently withstood those who taught that Christians ought "to keep the law of Moses;" (Acts 15:5;) not only St....

Animal Magic’s Mark Rosenthal stated that the woman found the gator in her late son’s room just days after his funeral. According to Rosenthal, the rescue operation took around 30 minutes. “I used the sweatshirt again, put it over its head, and just grabbed it by the tail and lifted it by the tail until it was balanced at the top. Then I got off the milk crate, got him down, and then put him in the container you’ll see...

EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK, Fla.– A crocodile decided to show an alligator who is boss in the Florida Everglades on Monday as people watched in suspense. Video showed a crocodile walking up to an opening of some water in Everglades National Park. As the camera angle changed, it showed the crocodile wasn't just aiming to take a dip, but was actually boisterously approaching an alligator hanging out in the water. The two reptiles began hissing at each other as the crocodile entered the water and got closer to the gator. As the crocodile entered the alligator's personal space, the gator thrashed...

John Stuart Mill said the peculiar evil of silencing expression is that it robs the human race. The EU’s decided that’s not a bug—it’s a feature. They’ve taken the marketplace of ideas and turned it into a monopoly where the only supplier is… the EU. America’s Founders knew something these Brussels bureaucrats apparently skipped in history class: the answer to speech you don’t like is more speech, not less. Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and the First Amendment wasn’t written to protect popular opinions—because those don’t need protection. I present twenty monuments to the idea that Europeans fought two world...

Finland’s former prime minister complained that she seems to be more known for infamous videos of her dancing than for her leadership. Sanna Marin became Finland’s youngest prime minister at just 34-years-old and quickly became a symbol of a new liberal movement in Europe. But two years into her term, videos of her gyrating in a lacy black tank top circled the internet and a separate video later emerged of her grinding in a club with a man that wasn’t her husband. Today, the ex-politician — who recently released a memoir and has 1 million Instagram followers — laments the...

Labour’s tax rises have led to an exodus of wealthy Britons, the business secretary has admitted. Peter Kyle said he accepted that “some of the decisions” the party had made since taking office had caused “some people [to] feel the need to leave”. Asked if the wealthy were opting to leave because of tax decisions made by the government, he said: “Yes, I do.” He added: “I’m not going to duck the fact that we have put up taxes and we’ve closed some of the loopholes for non-doms.” ...

Ron Hira, Indian-origin professor at Howard University and a prominent critic of the H-1B visa program, has once again raised questions regarding the operation of this program in the US. In a post on X, Hira claimed that a considerable number of H-1B visa holders are of average quality and could be sourced domestically. Given that Indians constitute the largest proportion of H-1B visa holders, Hira's critique was sure to attract attention. As the son of Indian immigrants who came to the US in the 1950s, well before the establishment of the H-1B system, his perspective sparked further discussion. ‘H-1B...

Democrats now celebrate the very nullificationist tactics they once decried, embracing a neo-Confederate defiance of federal authority to undermine a president they despise. Is Jeff Davis the Model?Who is the real, or fictional, inspiration for the new insurrectionary wing of the Democrat Party? The fictitious Hollywood insurrectionist, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, “James Mattoon Scott” (Burt Lancaster), who in the 1964 film Seven Days in May attempted to overthrow the presidency? Or perhaps Jefferson Davis? He ultimately ordered the attack by South Carolina state forces against the federal garrison at Fort Sumter, which ignited the Civil War. Or...

In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote that the GOP has "never been so UNITED AS IT iS RIGHT NOW!" "Other than Rand Paul, Rand Paul Jr.(Massie!), Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown, and a couple of other ‘lowlifes,’ and other than the fact that many want the Election threatening Filibuster TERMINATED (the Dems will do it in the first minute of their first chance!), and some don’t, there is great spirit and...
