Yesterday, Karl Rove warned Republicans that, depending on how President Obama handles all of the shutdown hullaballoo, it could actually help him with the public. On Hardball today, Chris Matthews and his guests looked into how the President was doing. While the entire panel agreed that it behooved Obama to appear like a “compromiser” and an adult in a city of bickering children, Matthews pointed out something else that would help him; the President’s pearly whites. After watching a clip of Obama, this was Matthews’ assessment:

(clip) Suddenly he discussed the sexiness of Margaret Thatcher. The way he described Thatcher and how the press treated the "Iron Lady," you'd think he was talking about Sarah Palin. Even the radio host thought so. However, Hitchens said Palin was contrary to his description of Thatcher. He said Palin has no charisma. I find that hard to believe. I don't get his anti-Palin sentiment. Personally, I find Thatcher and Palin to be quite similar. See and hear for yourself what Hitchens said:

Regardless of what you may think of Penn Jillette, the guy is spot on on issues 99% of the time. He is smart and informed and quite funny,,, IMHO!
