NASA Administrator Bill Nelson is being mocked for suggesting the far side of the moon is always “dark” and can’t explain why China is interested in exploring that part of the moon.
“What do you think the Chinese are trying to get at, at the back side of the moon?” Rep. David Trone (D-MD) asked Nelson at a congressional hearing last week.
“They are going to have a lander on the far side of the moon, which is the side which is always in dark. Uh, we’re not planning to go there,” he said.

They are going there because the can’t be (easily) watched.
Nelson is about the same age as Biden. I cannot wait until we get people in our government who understand what it means to get out of the way so people can give it a shot.

The Darkside of the Moon is not that hidden though.
Don’t we live in an age of satilites? Wouldn’t a spy satilite tell you what is happening there?

This story just reminded me of that line, that’s all.

It sounded to me like he knew and was trying to throw something past the Chinese.
The same Bill Nelson that Rick Scott defeated to take his Senate seat. This is our best and brightest? I’m sure the Chinese are laughing about this.
