AUSTIN, Texas — Republican Pierce Bush, a grandson of former President George H.W. Bush, failed to advance out of Tuesday’s primary in his bid for a Houston congressional seat, becoming the first member of his family to lose a race in Texas in more than 40 years. Aside from the recognition of coming from America’s most enduring Republican dynasty, Bush 34, was endorsed by the outgoing GOP incumbent, Rep. Pete Olson and raised more money than many of the other 14 candidates in the field. Troy Nehls and Kathaleen Wall, staunch defenders of President Donald Trump, advanced instead to the...

London -- The massive fire that engulfed Notre Dame cathedral in Paris caused devastating damage to the structure, destroying its iconic spire and reducing its ancient wooden roof to ash. But Tuesday morning, as the sun rose over the city, much of the church's medieval stonework was still standing, and many people began to think about rebuilding.

The number of Israelis leaving home for the Diaspora declined to a 40-year low, and many “yordim” - emigrants - are returning. The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) released data for 2010, the latest period available, and said that the number of Israelis who left the country to live elsewhere was 15,600, 300 fewer than in 2009. Most of the emigrants are from Europe, and only 23 percent are American. After taking into account new immigrants, the figure for net emigration was only 5,400, which is slightly more than in 2009. Approximately 25 percent of the emigrants returned home within...

Bryce Lockwood, Marine staff sergeant, Russian-language expert, recipient of the Silver Star for heroism, ordained Baptist minister, is shouting into the phone. "I'm angry! I'm seething with anger! Forty years, and I'm seething with anger!" Lockwood was aboard the USS Liberty, a super-secret spy ship on station in the eastern Mediterranean, when four Israeli fighter jets flew out of the afternoon sun to strafe and bomb the virtually defenseless vessel on June 8, 1967, the fourth day of what would become known as the Six-Day War.......... .....Their anger has been stoked by the declassification of government documents and the recollections...

KENNEDY'S SECRET DEVOTION: IS IT TRUE HE WENT TO CONFESSION THAT DAY IN DALLAS?By Michael H. BrownWe all have the memories, the motorcade, the shots ringing out, the  riderless horse, the chill winds of November. It was the assassination of President John F. Politicians, community activists and local residents gathered near downtown Saturday afternoon to mark the 40th anniversary of the civil rights march on Washington when Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his "I have a dream" speech.
