  • Voting By Mail In 2020 Would Create Chaos To Advantage Democrats

Vote-by-mail would federalize a state-based electoral system, introducing something Democrats tend to use when they're desperate for a win: chaos. Leftists know that changing the rules of the game can bring victory, and have long tried to change election rules to do just that. When COVID-19 came, facing a contentious race with a populist incumbent president, Democrats turned to their vast network of money-men, many under the umbrella of the “dark money” empire known as the Arabella Network, and set about using the new crisis to their advantage. Their latest push is an expansion of vote-by-mail and its cousin, ballot...

The chair of Wisconsin's state Democratic Party on Monday blasted a U.S. Supreme Court decision that required all absentee ballots be posted by Tuesday to be counted in the state's election. Ben Wikler tweeted Monday afternoon that he was "about to explode" after the Supreme Court reversed a lower court's ruling ordering the state to accept absentee ballots sent any time before April 13, a move that was initially meant to expand participation in the primary during the coronavirus outbreak. "I am about to explode. The five GOP US Supreme Court justices just overruled two lower courts and shut off...

CEDAR RAPIDS — Iowa’s heavily used absentee voting system is open to irregularities and sloppy shortcuts that actually are violations of law, said Joel Miller, Linn County auditor and commissioner of elections. As a case in point, Miller has identified an example in recent days in which it appears a door-to-door campaign worker in the 1st Congressional District race accepted paperwork from a resident who signed an official absentee ballot request form for herself and for someone else living at the address. An individual voter can sign only one request form and cannot sign a form for a spouse or...

Congressman Joe Garcia’s chief of staff abruptly resigned Friday after being implicated in a sophisticated scheme to manipulate last year’s primary elections by submitting hundreds of fraudulent absentee-ballot requests. Friday afternoon, Garcia said he had asked Jeffrey Garcia, no relation, for his resignation after the chief of staff — also the congressman’s top political strategist — took responsibility for the plot. Hours earlier, law enforcement investigators raided the homes of another of Joe Garcia’s employees and a former campaign aide in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation into the matter. “I’m shocked and disappointed about this,” Garcia, who said he...
  • How Much Did We Pay for Barry's Absentee Ballot?

If Barry is hanging out at his Chicago crib and playing hoop TODAY, election day, in his home town, why did WE have to pay for him to fly out to Chicago a few days ago so he could cast an absentee ballot? Not too long ago, you had to prove why you could NOT vote on election day in order to get an absentee ballot. What did his publicity stunt cost us?

Idaho, South Dakota, and the crucial swing state of Virginia are the first states to begin early, in-person voting today. Also today, absentee voting begins in Minnesota, West Virginia, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Georgia, Arkansas, Idaho, and Maryland, bringing the total number of states already accepting ballots to 13. Twelve others -- South Carolina, New Jersey, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire,...

Today’s Democratic Party is also heavily infiltrated by the now pro Chinese Communist Party USA and their almost as equally extreme comrades from Democratic Socialists of America. NEW YORK — November 2 is not here yet, but polling problems have begun. From possibly malfunctioning ballot gear to potential fraud, the 2010 mid-term vote is marred even before Election Day has dawned. •Like jurors who deliberate before a trial concludes, some Nevadans who have tried voting early for Republican Senate nominee Sharron Angle instead have seen Democrat Harry Reid’s name appear on their electronic voting machines. Some voters have complained about this apparent glitch, but how many others unwittingly have miscast their ballots? Intriguingly, these machines are maintained in Las Vegas by members of the Service Employees International...

A hotly contested Senate race and an amendment on marriage have led tens of thousands of voters statewide to request absentee ballots before next week's election, an indicator that turnout could be abnormally high on Election Day. "It sounds more like a presidential than a midterm election," said Virginia Garrett, Chesapeake's voter registrar. Across the commonwealth, 102,852 people had requested absentee ballots as of Monday morning, said Jean Jensen, the secretary for the State Board of Elections. That's more than twice the number of absentee ballots received in 2002, when John Warner was re-elected to the Senate, and 35 percent...

Most Louisianans missed the dramatic transformation that occurred yesterday in a tiny segment of Baton Rouge, a time vortex that flung the state back about 50 years forming in the John Hainkel Committee Room at the Louisiana Capitol, where the Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee met to deal with a monstrous problem threatening our democracy. Leading state luminaries such as Senate President Pro Tem Diana Bajoie, state Sen. Cleo Fields and state Rep. Cedric Richmond delivered powerful oratory, arguing how the Legislature could strike a blow against a massive disenfranchisement of voters and how it could protect liberty and democracy....

MONTGOMERY — Alabamians fighting overseas have as much right to vote as someone in line at the local voting booth, and election laws need to change for that to happen, officials said. At a Tuesday meeting, officials said June primary and runoff votes might be disrupted either by extending the time between the primary and the runoff or some other means to comply with new federal edicts. Attorney General Troy King, who called the meeting, said Alabama has little choice but to comply with U.S. Justice Department demands that the state correct absentee voting regulations. Justice officials said Alabama law...

The growing power of Latino voters, the state's stark east-west social divide and the skyrocketing number of absentee voters have changed California's political landscape, a new Field Institute study shows. Voters already are seeing the results of those changes. The barrage of political mail has started arriving earlier, and partisan TV spots are interrupting programs long before election day. Latino voters are seeing an explosion of Spanish-language political advertising, while candidates are using very different messages to attract votes in Oakland than they are in Riverside. Although these trends have been visible in recent voting, their long-term effects have for...

I am an absentee voter registered in Westland Michigan. I am trying to find information about city council members. I've already tried Google and Dogpile. I checked the votesmart website but they don't have anything for city level elections. I couldn't even find biographies for the incumbents on the city website. My family members are very liberal and I don't feel they would be unbiased. I would rather not vote than make an uninformed choice. Can anyone point me to some helpful resources? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. God bless you all!

If it were up to one Mount Vernon man, we might already know the results of the November general election. As Election Day draws closer, the push for participation continues, and Ben Rogers is pouring in the hours. The Mount Vernon resident works for America Coming Together (ACT), an organization that aims to increase voter turnout this fall. October 20, 2004 — One week from tonight, a new primary will be held in the race for mayor of East Chicago, Indiana. A new primary was ordered after evidence of wrongdoing surfaced with absentee ballots. Now, it looks like more East Chicago voters plan to cast their ballots in person this time around. When the East Chicago mayoral primary is re-run next Tuesday, there will be half as many absentee ballots as were cast in the scandal-ridden election in 2003. In that first primary, disputed absentee ballots were the difference for longtime incumbent Robert Pastrick. So, with fewer absentee...
