When residents of an Alabama town spotted three teens trying to break into a neighbors house in the middle of the day, they of course contacted police…but they didn’t just kick back and watch the action play out, either. They armed themselves and confronted them. With that, all three teens ran from the house on Mountain Laurel Drive in Pinson, but the neighbors chased them into nearby woods, according to AL.com. They managed to hold one, a 17-year-old, at gunpoint. Two others fled on foot but were captured more than a mile away on Highway 75.

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Huntsville Police said the woman who shot a man to death acted in self-defense. Investigators said Salena Turner was in fear for her life and shot Timothy Derrick in self defense the night of Jan. 24, based on evidence collected and discussed between police and the district attorney's office.

It appears that some bureaucrat in Alabama has decided to post Alabamans' rest stops with signs that are toxic to the second amendment and Alabama law.  As reported on opencarry.org, the signs say "No weapons beyond this point". MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A homeowner shot aburglary suspect in the groin after catching two men trying to steal scrapmetal from his property, according to authorities. SELMONT — Two burglars greeted a Selmont couple returning home from work early Saturday morning. In the exchange that ensued, one of the burglars was shot and killed, while the other one escaped and is considered armed and dangerous. Sgt. From the West Alabama Newsroom-- A suspected burglar is shot and killed by a homeowner -- when a Dallas County couple walks in on a break-in in progress at their house. Sheriff Harris Huffman says it happened early Friday morning on the 900 block of Lowery Drive in the Pine Glen housing community. The sheriff says the couple surprised two burglars when they came home and one of the burglars ran -- but the other was shot and killed.

Over the weekend, Auburn University’s student body elected Molly Anne Dutton the school’s 100th Miss Homecoming, and boy what a story this young woman has to tell. AUBURN, AL (WSFA) - The Auburn Police Department says it has arrested two people following a shooting that happened Sunday evening in the 800 block of Annalue Drive. Officers were called to the residence just before 9 p.m. on a report that a man found two people inside his home. The homeowner fired several shots at the suspects who then fled the scene. The victim reported two Samsung cell phones valued at $600 were taken in the burglary.
