DALLAS -- San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich's pregame media availability Sunday opened with the NBA's all-time wins leader declining to discuss whether he would consider retirement this offseason and ended with an unprompted, passionate speech lobbying for gun control legislation in America and criticizing "cowardly legislators who are selfish." Popovich, 74, has expressed strong opinions on gun control and other political issues frequently in recent years. He made a point to bring up the subject as his media session before the Dallas Mavericks game seemed to be wrapping up, asking whether anyone in the room was carrying a firearm....

NBC News deleted a tweet containing a quote that compared migrants sent to Martha's Vineyard to "trash" in an attempt to criticize Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. The quote came from Max Lefeld, a Venezuelan-American and immigrant activist. “It’s like me taking my trash out and just driving to different areas where I live and just throwing my trash there," he said. Ironically, Lefeld is also a founding member of the Casa Venezuela Dallas foundation, a charity that helps refugees. NBC posted the quote in a tweet with a link to its article, but deleted the tweet after receiving criticism online....

Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, praised former President Donald Trump on Friday for making everybody "afraid" while he served in the White House, lamenting that people no longer feel that fear. The GOP senator made the remarks as he spoke at the Faith & Freedom Coalition's Road to Majority Policy Conference held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
