Despite no official action from the president ahead of the election, the Obama administration has quietly begun preparing to issue millions of work authorization permits, suggesting the implementation of a large-scale executive amnesty may have already begun. Unnoticed until now, a draft solicitation for bids issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Oct. 6 says potential vendors must be capable of handling a “surge” scenario of 9 million id cards in one year “to support possible future immigration reform initiative requirements.” The request for proposals says the agency will need a minimum of four million cards per year. In...

Why we should remember 9/11 By JAY AMBROSE Scripps Howard News Service Thursday, September 06, 2007 Let's quit making a big deal out of 9/11, some are saying as the sixth anniversary rolls around, and maybe you disagree as I do, but hold your arguments. A recent event speaks louder than our words could. It occurred in Germany, where police arrested three Islamic-fascists who had cruelty up their sleeves. They had their own recognition of 9/11 planned, but no reading of the names of the 3,000 who died in that day's attacks, no families joining to pray for the victims,...

June 27, 2006 | According to Dylan Avery, a 22-year-old filmmaker in upstate New York, no terrorists hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, and no passengers heroically revolted. The plane didn't even crash in that Shanksville, Penn., field, he says, but instead landed safely in Cleveland. And not only that. As Avery sees it, the true 9/11 attackers brought down the World Trade Center in a controlled demolition, most likely to get at $160 billion in gold bars he believes were buried under the towers. As for the attack on the Pentagon, Avery insists...

[Click on the picture to go to the official September Day Site] MY REVIEW OF SEPTEMBER DAYBy Jeff Head FreeRepublic's own Larry Schweikart (Freeper LS), has really knocked one out of the park with this historical, fictional depiction of events leading up to 911, of the attack itself, and of the aftermath of the attack. To my knowledge it is the first historical, fiction novel dealing with the events...and Larry does it in a grand, and very direct and professional style in keeping with his other great literary works like, "A Patriot's History of the United States," and "America's Victories:...

Great News! Freepers LS & Jeff Head have just released a book! It is LS (Larry Schweikart) first novel, a thriller about 9/11, "September Day", produced by fellow FReeper Jeff Head. Only available on Amazon/B&N. Hope you'll take a look: Check out Amazon site About September Day No living American can, or should, forget 9/11. But the process of trying to place this book with a major publisher has alerted me to the fact that many indeed want to do just that. Repeatedly, my agent got rejections with the words, "It's well written, but we don't want to touch...

SEATTLE (AP) - Federal authorities believe Washington state's ferry system has been under surveillance and could be a possible target for a terrorist attack, The Seattle Times reported Sunday. An FBI assessment determined that 19 suspicious incidents reported by law enforcement officers, ferry workers and passengers since the Sept. 11 attacks were highly likely or extremely likely to involve terrorist surveillance, the Times reported. "We may well be the target of preoperational terrorist planning," said U.S. Attorney John McKay. McKay and other security officials said the assessment helped prompt new security requirements that began Saturday on the Washington ferries, the...

One of the gravest mistakes we, as Americans, can make is to forget how it felt on the morning of September 11, 2001 to witness the catastrophic and barbaric acts of murder and destruction that unfolded before our eyes on television. Sadly, three years after the worst attack in our nation’s history, I think we may already have. To me, it is a disservice of the highest order to those innocent souls savagely slaughtered on that terrible morning, as well as an injustice to a nation at war while her bravest men and women continue to serve in harm’s way,...

Time for tolerance After picking up my daughter from San Benito High School in tears today, I've been pondering the political correctness of ethnic/racial slurs. Our family is French, and she spent the day defending her nationality to classmates and, unfortunately, teachers. Some of the remarks directed at her included the following: "All French are stupid." "France is a nation of cowards." "You French are a bunch of idiots." Insert some other country of origin or ethnic background in the above sentences, such as Mexican or African American, and you've got a lawsuit on your hands. So are such slurs...

Among Flight Ninetythree passengers, Were common folk, business travellers, Unmindful of a certain death, They fought like tigers, To foil the aim of armed killers, Forcing the plane into the wilderness, Crashing away from the city centers, Salute these common heroes, Pranaam! A very compassionate Chaplain, Who leaned to pray with a fireman, Lending solace, last rites to a dying man, Disregarding the falling heavy slabs, That buried them both in an eternal clasp, Salute the undying devotion, Pranaam! The loaded planes like missiles exploded, Balls of flame burst and steel crumpled, Tall twin towers violently imploded, Yet police and...
