This is a well-written article about a father who put several of his kids through expensive colleges but one son wanted to be a Marine. Interesting observation by this dad. See below. A very interesting commentary that says a lot about our failing and fallen society.

PHOENIX - The Confederate monument that stands at Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza, just outside the Arizona state Capitol, looked a little different than it usually does Tuesday evening. In addition to its memorializing of Arizona Confederate soldiers and its erectors, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the statue got a few new decorations. At the top, a ribbon hung with the words, "You lost, get over it," and at the bottom, the monuments message "A nation that forgets its past has no future" had been covered with a "2nd Place," "Participant" banner.

Almost two-thirds of federal employees voted for Hillary Clinton during the presidential election, according to a new survey. The poll also found that six of 10 felt that the election itself gave Americans a negative impression of federal service. So it may come as no surprise that some federal employees are considering leaving their employment when President-elect Donald Trump assumes office. “More than one in four federal workers, or 28 percent, will definitely or possibly consider leaving their jobs after Jan. 20 when Trump is sworn into office and becomes leader of the executive branch,” according to the survey conducted by the...

A Never Trumper friend of mine just messaged me on fb. "I placed my anti-Clinton Trump vote today. So if the old bag wins, I won't be to blame."He previously said he was voting for Johnson, because he couldn't stomach Trump. We're in heavily pro-Trump Southern Ohio, judging by yard signs.Just thought I'd share.

Why we must ALL vote for Hillary: click on the pic to have your mind changed about Her Thighness. :)

Text from the video: Those who experience extraordinary hardships are extraordinary people... If you've been through a traumatic experience, you've got something that others don't, you've experienced something most people around you have not, you can count yourself lucky. Because when faced with a similar situation again, you will know how to react, you're prepared, whilst the others around you panic and or break down, you can Steele yourself and calmly deal with that situation. It's not a pity ticket, it's a badge of pride! Don't look for sympathy, count yourself lucky to have lived through the hard times, wear...

During Miranda Lambert’s concert in Hartford, Connecticut on Friday, August 19th, she was performing “The House That Built Me,’ when she noticed a sign in the crowd. “3 combat tours … [Your] voice was the last thing I listened to EVERY NIGHT! THANK YOU!!!” In the video, you can see the moment Miranda reads the sign, before asking, ‘Really?’ and then holds up the sign onstage for the crowd and her band to read. The sign moved her to tears, and, the moment moved me to tears too. Could you imagine what an honor it is to have a military...

I'm not sure where John Kasich spent the last several decades of his life, but I'm betting it wasn't in America. On a campaign stop in Virginia this morning, Kasich took advantage of the events 'townhall' format to wax poetic about the uptick in support for his fourth place Presidential campaign. According to the Ohio governor, the turnout to volunteer for him has been nothing short of astounding. Why, the women-folk have even dropped their dirty dishes, put down their pasta pots and have left their kitchens for the first time since dedicating themselves to a life of housewifery to...

NAPLES, FL - They're normally the guys locking people up for marijuana possession, but a group of current and former law enforcement officers will meet in Naples to push for people's right to get high. Not all law enforcement officers are on board, however. Legalizing marijuana, it's a hot-button issue in Florida. Law Enforcement Against Prohibition is pushing for the change to save taxpayer dollars and valuable resources. "Sixty-thousand people get arrested every year for marijuana possession. That's a waste of law-enforcement resources," said Ray Strack of LEAP. The group meets Thursday in Naples. The Florida Sheriff's Association is not...

PAY IT FORWARD: Paramedics with the Mehlville Fire Protection District were called to a South County home after a man fell from his roof and broke his leg while working to remove leaves. Paramedics returned to the home after transporting him to a nearby hospital and finished the project the man started - bagging up leaves in his yard. It gets better, an off-duty paramedic brought his personal trailer over to haul away the leaves for this family! What a great act of kindness we felt needed to be shared!

A stunning new player-made video highlighting the visual beauty and wonder of this immense, sprawling and player-driven universe. Be sure to watch full screen and in HD 1080P. What many EVE players themselves overlook is just how visually compelling EVE is. All you have to do is stop and take a look around. All the while dodging incoming fire, that is. Heh. Just kidding. Or maybe not.

Explanation: Have you ever seen the Andromeda galaxy? Although M31 appears as a faint and fuzzy blob to the unaided eye, the light you see will be over two million years old, making it likely the oldest light you ever will see directly. Now rising near a few hours after sunset from mid-latitude northern locations, Andromeda is rising earlier each night and will be visible to northerners all night long starting in September. The featured image captured Andromeda rising above the Italian Alps last month. As cool as it may be to see this neighboring galaxy to our Milky Way...

Watch as Jetman Yves Rossy and his protege, Jetman Vince Reffet, take their crazy jetpacks to the skies of Dubai and tour the city like Superman would. It’s unbelievable every time I see them soar through the air like fighter jets, busting moves and tricks that only stunt planes dare to try. Except they’re not in a plane and they aren’t Superman, they’re humans with jetpacks strapped to their backs.

In January 2013, a 32-second radio advertisement was broadcast in Milwaukee, and — quite by accident — a political star was born. Hoping to encourage local residents to play a part in their own protection, the commercial’s progenitor went firmly on the record in favor of the private ownership of firearms: “With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option.” Rather, listeners were invited to “consider taking a certified safety course in handling a firearm.” “You have a duty to protect yourself and your family,” the commercial intoned. “Can I count on...

A possible alternate title for at least one of the editions of the new season of Sportsman Channel’s Amazing America with Sarah Palin could be “A Whole Lotta Huntin’ Goin’ On.” Gun rights advocates will be happy to learn that legendary rocker Ted Nugent joins the former Alaska governor. Nugent, a tireless constitutional rights advocate, is a member of the National Bowhunters Hall of Fame and, like Palin, an outspoken defender of our Second Amendment. Season two of the program begins on January 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Twelve new episodes are on the schedule with Nugent’s appearance slated for...
