  • Sarah Silverman wants brands to stop calling their 'exclusively Caucasian' products 'nude'

Sarah Silverman has a bone to pick with how certain household items are labeled — and she’s calling for more diversity. The comedian took to Twitter to point out that products like pantyhose and bandages come in shades marked as “nude,” though the peachy-beige tone really only applies to some white people. “I can’t [expletive] believe that there are still ‘nude’ bras and nylons and Band Aids,” she wrote. “If you are a company still using nude to describe an exclusively Caucasian shade in 20[expletive]19 you need to change now or go tha way of zee dinosaur.”

No Democrat running for president has had a better 2019 than Kamala Harris. The numbers tell the tale. The California senator was in the low single digits in polls conducted before her official launch on January 28. She is now in the low double digits, running third behind Joe Biden, who enjoys cosmic name recognition, and Bernie Sanders, whose devoted supporters brought him a second-place finish last time. But polls do not tell the whole story. Harris raised $1.5 million in the day after declaring her candidacy. That number, impressive for a senator not even a third of the way...

RICHMOND, Va. -- House Republicans announced on the floor Friday that they plan to invite the two women accusing Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax of sexual assault to speak with them. Del. Rob Bell (R-District 58) said on the floor that the Court of Justice Committee will be scheduling a meeting and plan to invite Dr. Vanessa Tyson and Meredith Watson to testify. Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax will also be invited to speak. It didn't take long for one of the accusers to respond and accept the invitation. Meredith Watson is gratified that the Virginia General Assembly has announced their intention...

It’s just fine that Elizabeth Warren apologized to the Cherokees for falsely claiming to be one of them. It might be helpful if she also apologizes to the people of Massachusetts. She could have done it Saturday when she made her presidential campaign official, but she didn’t. Instead she reworked and expanded her attack on wealthy Americans who, she said, are not paying their fair share. Massachusetts is not Virginia where Gov. Ralph Northam, Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax and Attorney General Mark Herring, all Democrats, are all caught up in scandals of black face and sexual- harassment charges

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism. If Senator Elizabeth Warren wins in 2020, the millionaire class warrior will break the glass ceiling as the first fake American Indian to become the President of the United States. But Senator Kamala Harris is outdoing Warren as the first 2020 fake black candidate who actually is black. It’s easy to fake being a member of a minority group that your DNA test says you can lay 1/1,024th claim to, but what’s really challenging is being...

Nearly 70 percent of black kids are born to unwed mothers - but let's talk about 35-year-old blackface pictures. The "blackface scandal" proved beneficial for two things. It displaced the frenzy over Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's support for a law lifting many restrictions on late-term abortion. It also took away headlines and news print space from the commonwealth's Democratic lieutenant governor, who faces two sexual assault allegations. But the blackface controversy has legs. Northam's 1984 medical school yearbook page depicted a photograph of someone in blackface and someone in a KKK outfit, both apparently holding cans of beer. At...

As the nation continues to try to sort out all of the Virginia Democratic Party blackface stories, plenty of questions remain. They involve not only the Governor but the Attorney General and others as well. Fear not, citizens. We’re finally getting some definitive answers as Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam Research Group (NOIRG) has decided to weigh in on the subject and clear up any confusion. So why are we still dealing with this phenomenon? Who is at the heart of the problem? Racist southern whites? The Illuminati? Nope. It’s the Jews, of course

At the time Virginia’s future political leaders put on blackface in college for fun, Dan Aykroyd wore it too — in the hit 1983 comedy “Trading Places.” Sports announcers of that time often described Boston Celtics player Larry Bird, who is white, as “smart” while describing his black NBA opponents as athletically gifted. Such racial insensitivities ran rampant in popular culture during the 1980s, the era in which Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam and the state’s attorney general, Mark Herring, have admitted to wearing blackface as they mimicked pop singer Michael Jackson and rapper Kurtis Blow, respectively. Meanwhile, Chicago elected its...

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly took aim at comedian Sarah Silverman on Tuesday after Silverman attacked President Trump on Twitter using obscenities and vulgar imagery. Kelly tweeted Tuesday that Silverman's use of language made her a questionable choice for children's movies, including the "Wreck it Ralph" franchise in which Silverman recently starred in the sequel, "Wreck it Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet." "This woman wants to star in children’s movies produced by Disney. (And just did, in Ralph Breaks the Internet.)," Kelly tweeted. Silverman was quickly defended by fellow comedians like Jonah Ray Rodrigues and actress Olivia Wilde,...

Meredith Watson, who has also accused Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax of sexual assault, said she was also raped by a Duke basketball player in 1999 that she didn't identify, according to USA Today. Monday, the [New York] Times reported Watson had told friends in the past that she was raped by Corey Maggette and that [Duke university] officials did not pursue the claim despite Watson allegedly reporting the incident to a dean at the university. Maggette, a Los Angeles Clippers analyst for Fox Sports West, did not appear in an originally planned broadcast on Monday. It was announced on...

That blackface/KKK photo on Governor Northam's yearbook page won't be a problem for Virginia's black leaders as long as he meets their demands.  The audacious "I am not going anywhere" Northam is wheeling and dealing with the race-baiters here in Virginia to save the Democratic Party and his own "white privileged" skin.  Forget post-birth abortions.  The only way the little ones will have a chance in Virginia with Democrats in charge is if they are allowed to vote. With alleged rapist Lt..Gov Fairfax out of the running, the NAACP, black clergy, and various black legislators in Virginia are stuck with Northam, and...

Dear fashion people: Please stop trying to make “blackface” happen. First it was Prada. Then Gucci. Now, pop star Katy Perry (who, yes, is apparently a fashion designer) is in hot water for selling shoes that evoke — intentionally or not — the racist imagery. The styles in question — a pair of mules and some high-heeled sandals — feature eyes and big red lips, resembling minstrel makeup. TMZ reports that retailers Dillards and Walmart will pull the offending styles, though not the whole line, from their stores after facing social media backlash...

When I was growing up, the man who delivered coal to our school jokingly warned me that if I didn’t study hard and get good grades, I would also end up delivering coal. It was a joke. But it also wasn’t. Working with coal was hard and dirty. Even if all you had to do was deliver it. And, there, far removed culturally and geographically from America and its old minstrel shows, coal dust meant hard work. Once upon a time, the Left romanticized coal dust and the coal miner as symbols of the oppressed working class. Then it degenerated...

Eva Siakam’s choice to campaign for Ralph Northam in 2017 was a simple one: He was a Democrat and endorsed by Barack Obama, America’s first black president. But sitting in a stylist’s chair at Supreme Hair Styling Boutique in Richmond on Friday, she shook her head in disgust when asked about revelations that Northam wore blackface 35 years ago. “I really believed in him,” said Siakam, a 28-year-old student. “To find out that he dressed up in blackface is disappointing. He’s shown his disdain for black people.” Black voters who factored prominently in the 2017 election that helped Northam become...

Embattled Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam says that he wants to take down Confederate statues and monuments in the state. “I will take a harder line,” Northam told the Washington Post amid a scandal stemming from a racist photograph on his medical school yearbook page. “If there are statues, if there monuments out there that provoke this type of hatred and bigotry, they need to be in museums.” Northam is facing calls to resign ...

The woman who has accused Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax of raping her while they were Duke students 20 years ago also says a Duke basketball player raped her. In response to Fairfax’s denials, Meredith Watson’s lawyer released a statement claiming she was also raped by a basketball player and, when she reported the attack to a school administrator, received no assistance. The player’s name was not released nor was the name of the school administrator. According to a report in The News & Observer in 1999, Duke went through a major reshuffling at its administrative level. Several administrators had...

RICHMOND, Va. — A senior official in Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's administration says the governor has told his top staff that he does not plan to resign over a racist photo despite intense pressure to step down. The official says Northam told his Cabinet during a Friday afternoon meeting that he intends to stay. The official was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity. Northam has faced widespread calls to step down over after his medical school yearbook page with a racist photo surfaced last week. It shows one person in blackface and another...

Virginia’s ongoing scandals of racist yearbook photos and resignation demands are starting to have repercussions on the state’s taxes and spending. The 2017 federal tax cut signed into law by President Trump capped the amount of state and local taxes that could be deducted, which could add up to a higher tax bill to some Virginians. This year, Virginia Republicans wanted to cut taxes to offset that by raising the standard deduction on state income taxes. This morning Democratic Governor Ralph Northam and Republicans in the state legislature announced they had worked out a deal on tax cuts. In addition...

Washington (CNN)Former FBI Director James Comey called Thursday for the removal of Confederate statues in Virginia's capital in the wake of blackface scandals involving top statewide elected officials, in an op-ed for The Washington Post. "Expressing bipartisan horror at blackface photos is essential, but removing the statues would show all of America that Virginia really has changed," Comey writes. "There is no doubt that Virginia's leaders need to be held accountable for their personal history, but every Virginia leader is responsible for the racist symbols that still loom over our lives," Comey writes.
