A 25-year-old mother who was expecting to give birth to an already jaw-dropping seven babies was shocked to find two more babies tucked in her womb during labor — making her one of the few women in history to birth nonuplets. Halima Cisse, from Timbuktu, was told by doctors in Mali’s capital, Bamako, that she’d be having seven babies. A second opinion from doctors in Morocco confirmed the shocking news. Cisse’s pregnancy had already made national headlines before she went into labor. So invested were Malians that the nation’s president, Bah N’Daw, ordered that Cisse be sent to North Africa...

Early last week found me getting a check-up for the first time in more than a decade. With medical professionals in my family, I can too easily put off those preventative appointments. So, I sat in the olive-green vinyl chair, the sort that populate doctors’ offices across the country. I felt a bit sheepish, like I’d been getting away with something by not going to the doctor for so long. The nurse took my vitals. The doctor asked the routine questions. What medications am I on? None. Do I have any allergies? No. Am I sexually active? No. Have I...

Bowl food is exactly what it sounds like; food in a bowl. We’re not sure what the craze is all about, but it seems to be all over Instagram. And it might have something to do with the royal wedding – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did serve bowl food, after all, when they tied the knot. Their royal lunch included pea and mint risotto, chicken fricassee and a slow-roasted pork belly, served with apple compote and crackling. So what exactly is bowl food and where has it come from? Bowl food is larger than a canapé and about a...

Twenty-four years ago, Donald Trump came upon a man being beaten by a thug. Being the brave man that he is, Trump knew he had to step in to save the day… He owns a plane and a helicopter, is the head of a multi-billion dollar empire, plans to take on illegal immigration all on his own, has taken on 16 other politicians and risen to the top of the GOP polls, and even has his own alter-ego of sorts — The Donald. At times, it seems like Donald Trump is a superhero.

The White House legend that is Barack and Michelle Obama’s romance is heading to the screen. Southside With You, a drama in the vein of Before Sunrise, chronicles the summer 1989 afternoon when the future President of the United States of America wooed his future First Lady on an epic first date across Chicago’s South Side. Get On Up’s Tika Sumpter will play Michelle Obama (née Robinson), while the search is on to cast the young Barack. As Presidential lore has it, the date took some convincing. Obama, then an idealistic first-year Harvard Law student, took a summer job as...

Oh dear! We really wished to keep this one “in the family” butt some blabbermouth had to go and spill the beans about what really went down the night the White House’s first, second and third lines of defense were breached. What next? Is somebody going to claim that “the Intelligence Community” didn’t really “miss the ISIS threat,” somebody else did that?“What do you see Mr. President?” “Uh, uh,uh - it looks like a cat…in a hat. Right?”I sure hope it wasn’t Molsterman who broke rank and let the cat out of the bag, so to speak. “I see no...

U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan said Thursday he would love to see Mitt Romney run again for president and teased the GOP's former nominee at one point that the "third time's the charm." Appearing with Ryan at a public event for the first time since their ticket lost two years ago, Romney offered his own good-humored praise by saying that Ryan "wouldn't be a bad president" himself.

New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, trying to warm up an image some voters perceive as cold, starts a drive Monday to showcase her personal side with testimonials from friends, associates and constituents she has helped. The online and in-person campaign, complete with a website called TheHillaryIKnow.com, comes a day after Clinton won a key endorsement from The Des Moines Register and her chief rival in the Democratic nomination race, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, was endorsed by The Boston Globe. The rush of endorsements comes as candidates angle for advantage in Iowa's Jan. 3 caucuses and New Hampshire's Jan. 8...

My paternal grandmother was addicted to tobacco and baby urine. In my village, there were a dozen old women who smoked tobacco, but as far as drinking baby’s urine was concerned, my grandma was the only one. When I was only four years old, I was already at her service. She often ordered me to fetch her a light to aid her smoking habit. I would run home with a smouldering bunch of straw and use a bamboo splinter to light a fire. The way she smoked tobacco was not the same as the male neighbours. They exhaled the smoke...

CARACAS, Venezuela (Reuters) - Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona said on Thursday he was "in love" with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, whom he admires for his left-wing political policies. The two embraced afterward. The 44-year-old soccer celebrity, considered one of the greatest players of all time, is also an ardent admirer of Fidel Castro, the Communist President of Cuba where Maradona has lived since 2000 while fighting cocaine addiction.

WOODMERE, Ohio - The nation's food companies are stirring up new recipes for everything from Oreos to SpaghettiOs to get rid of trans fat, the artery-clogging ingredient that must be listed on food labels next year. The companies say they're promoting good health, but they're also looking ahead to the new federal rule and new dietary guidelines urging consumers away from trans fats. Trans fats have been in the nation's food supply for decades, giving products a long shelf life and making goodies like chips and cookies oh so yummy. They are formed when liquid oils turn into solid fats...

Dowd displays a rather frightening fixation with Gilligan's Island. The evil part of mind wonders if she used to call Michael Douglas The Skipper during their intimate moments. She asks the philosophical question about Senator Kerry. "Does He Float Your Boat?" It was a subtle reminder of Candidate Kerry's swiftboat days. Further proof that he was.....a VIETNAM VETERAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So let's dive into Maureen Dowd. Let's muck the depths of her trolladytic mind. A good diver starts by properly tanking up, and I never reccommend a Maureen Dowd column with a good stiff vodka tonic. Paragraphs like the one below, immediately...

The new Starsky & Hutch movie will be filled with homoeroticism, according to cast member Juliette Lewis. The actress says the currently-shooting film, starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson as the title characters, will be much more comedy based than the '70s TV series which inspired the flick. She says, "There are so many homoerotic overtones between Ben and Owen's characters that it's just absolutely hilarious. Todd Phillips (director) did a really great job casting the movie. Vince Vaughn is incredible as the smarmy villain. I play his girlfriend Kitty. I'm one of those kinds of girlfriends who constantly massages...
