A 97-year-old record-breaking autogyro pilot, who flew as a James Bond stunt double, has died. Retired Wing Cdr Ken Wallis, who lived near Dereham, Norfolk, died on Sunday, his daughter confirmed. Born in Ely, his first solo flight was in 1937. Thirty years later he doubled as Sean Connery's Bond for an explosive aerial sequence in You Only Live Twice.

It is largely set in West Africa, but instead of taking place in the tumultuous societies of Cameroon, Mali or Guinea-Bissau, Boyd has invented a country. Solo, set in 1969, features Bond as a veteran agent, whose solo mission in Africa takes an unexpected turn. The designer, Random House creative director Suzanne Dean, said she was inspired by Ian Fleming's 007 series. The audiobook edition of the novel, published in September, will be narrated by actor Dominic West.

Actor Pierce Brosnan is devastated after his daughter Charlotte died, aged just 42. The mother-of-two died after a three year battle with ovarian cancer - the same disease which killed her mother Cassandra 22 years ago - at her London home on Friday. The British film studio that's home to the James Bond movie franchise announced plans Monday for its first U.S. film production facility, at a site near Atlanta. The large-scale film complex will be called Pinewood Atlanta, and Pinewood will manage the facility under an agreement with a group of private investors. Plans call for the studio to be developed on 288 acres south of Atlanta in Fayette County and initially include at least five soundstages as well as production offices.
