Jacobson Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 3:32pm **SNIP** Dow Chemical was disclosed, however, on a sworn statement Warren filed in a 2002 bankruptcy case where she was being hired as legal counsel for one of the Committees of the bankruptcy estate, and revealed on this blog. The description Warren gave in that 2002 sworn statement was: **SNIP** In short, in the early days of the Dow Corning breast implant litigation Elizabeth Warren was providing legal advice to Dow Chemical, which was denying liability and fighting breast implant claims for many years...

Lawyer's Revelations Add To Scrutiny Over Elizabeth Warren's Corporate ClientsErin Fuchs | Oct. 9, 2012, 3:29 PM U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren recently revealed at least some of her clients amid scrutiny over her legal work for corporations. Warren says she did work for "a company that offered a plan to help save a bankrupt rural power cooperative." Well, an attorney involved in that bankruptcy says, in fact, the opposite is true.

Sen. Scott Brown has a 3-point edge over Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren in a poll released Tuesday. Brown leads Warren, 48 percent to 45 percent, in the WBUR poll. A Western New England University poll released earlier this week found Brown trailing, 50 percent to 45 percent.

US Senator Scott Brown has regained a lead over Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren in a new WBUR-MassINC poll, after a string of polls showed Warren with the lead. The poll is the first since Brown and Warren’s second debate at the University of Massachusetts Lowell on Oct. 1. The telephone poll of 502 likely voters, taken Oct. 5 through Oct. 7, showed Brown leading 47 percent to 43 percent, within the 4.4 percent margin of error. The lead drops to 3 percentage points — 48 percent to 45 percent — with the inclusion of respondents who say they have not...

Deval Patrick, of all people, may have just assured that the Native American squabble stays front and center in this Wednesday’s sold-out debate No. 3 between Scott Brown and Elizabeth Warren. Patrick just called Brown “a Bay State birther” for demanding proof of her Native American heritage. So for the third debate in a row, the main focus could be Cherokee Warren, with an added twist: “Birther” Brown.

U.S. Sen. Scott Brown dismissed Gov. Deval Patrick’s claim that he’s a “Bay State birther” because Brown is demanding Elizabeth Warren prove her Native American heritage — saying Patrick has joined the very “Beacon Hill machine,” the governor once blasted. “It’s part of kind of the Beacon Hill machine coming out during the political season,” said Brown as he picked up an endorsement today from former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld in his Boston campaign office. “You know this is a situation of her own making, she hasn’t answered your questions, your questions in particular, so all I ever asked is...

She is also a self-professed lawyer in Massachusetts. The problem is, she doesn’t have a license to practice law in the Bay State. **SNIP** If the voters of Massachusetts elect Elizabeth “Joke-ahantas" Warren as their next U.S. Senator, then they deserve what they get. “The white man was a good shot and the bullet from his Winchester passed through the body of Yaholar.” This simple sentence, describing Massachusetts Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren’s great-grandfather, John Crawford, may finally put a bullet not simply in the long dead corpse of Native American Louis Yaholar, but also of Warren’s supposed family mythology. It comes from a turn-of-the-20th-century news story uncovered by William Jacobi at Legal Insurrection, who explains the genealogical connection between this random incident of White-on-Native-American violence and Warren’s campaign: // But, while Warren thinks she has found a safe place in her family lore,...

Clutching a Holy Bible and paraphrasing Scripture at a Roxbury church today, Democratis Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren accepted the endorsement of a coalition of black ministers — who indicated the controversy over her claims of minority status isn’t an issue for them. “I was a stranger and you took me in,” said Warren. “And I’m very grateful for that. I’ve prayed with many of you ... We are not alone, and we’ll do this together.”

California Gov. Jerry Brown on Sunday signed legislation extending the state's $100 million tax-credit fund for two more years. The measure allows California producers a 20 percent or 25 percent credit against income and sales and use taxes and is designed to help stem the production exodus that has plagued the state in recent years. "The state of California took a big step forward today, thanks to Governor Brown and the legislature,” said Christopher Dodd, chairman and chief executive officer of the Motion Picture Association of America. “

Jacobson Friday, September 28, 2012 at 7:42pm Mass Lawyers Weekly ran a reader poll today regarding the following question: Should U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren be investigated for possibly practicing law without a license? I heard about the poll in an email just after 1:30 p.m. today. I did not publicize the poll because while online polls are not scientific, I also didn’t want someone to say that the results were skewed by me publicizing the poll.

Warren’s campaign said Sebelius will join supporters for a canvassing kickoff in Porter Square in Cambridge on Saturday. Much as with Warren’s history of “checking the box,” Warren’s campaign makes categorical statements, refuses to release records, and waits to see if others will be able to find details and documents. The evidence mounts day by day that Warren did a lot more than “dabble” in the practice of law from her Massachusetts office....

Fauxcahontas’ Latest Lame ExcuseBy HOWIE CARR Last Updated: 2:37 AM, September 28, 2012 Boston — Fauxcahontas put up a new TV ad this week. In it, Liz Warren shares the pain her supposed Indian heritage has caused — why, her parents had to elope because her dad’s family didn’t want their son marrying a girl with Indian blood. Huh. Twila Barnes, an indefatigable Cherokee genealogist, dug up the 1932 wedding notice in the Oklahoma papers. Warren’s folks got hitched in a large Protestant church 20 miles away, then drove right back to their hometown of Wetumka. A wedding party was...

Scott Brown Says Elizabeth Warren Has A Secret Roster Of Corporate ClientsErin Fuchs | Sep. 26, 2012, 4:49 PM U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren was pilloried by right-wing bloggers Monday for practicing law in Massachusetts without a license there. Now, her opponent, Republican Senator Scott Brown, is calling for her to release a full list of her corporate clients, "There is a list, and it does exist," Brown said in a letter to Warren. Here are the companies we already know have been represented by Warren, who has touted herself as an advocate for consumers:

Republican Sen. Scott Brown lobbed hypocrisy charges against Democrat Elizabeth Warren today for her work on behalf of a steel conglomerate in 1995, saying it contradicts her claims of being a champion of the middle class. “I think it’s hypocritical to say you’re out there fighting for the middle class and fighting for the union workers and the little guys,” Brown said at a campaign appearance at South Station today. Brown said national AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka — in town yesterday to talk up Warren’s union credentials at a labor rally — will be hard-pressed to defend Warren now. “He’s...

There have been several polls released recently, showing everything from a virtual dead heat to Elizabeth Warren ahead by low single digits. This was a contrast to pre-DNC polls, which showed Brown ahead by low single digits. Clearly Warren received a convention bounce, almost entirely from increased support from Democrats. Warren supporters in the left-blogosphere have all but declared victory. The question, however, was whether Warren’s convention bounce would last. A U.Mass-Lowell/Boston Herald poll released tonight indicates that perhaps Warren’s lead is not so clear, or that her bounce has faded. Brown is up 50-44 among registered voters and 49-45...
