It should be obvious by now, even for the semi-attentive, that USG elections are fixed. This arrangement failed stupendously in 2016 and the establishment has spent the last three years trying to unseat an elected president they revile and want to be removed from office, even if the interloper must be assassinated. Now that the dysfunctional efforts by Democrats to remove Trump by way of impeachment have failed, the president may indeed have an unfortunate accident or be offed by a “lone wolf” patsy if it looks like he will be reelected. The establishment desperately needs to insert one of...

California State University, Stanislaus violated public records laws, according to a Stanislaus Superior Court judge, though the university maintains it did not have the requested documents. The ruling, made by Stanislaus Court Superior Court Judge Roger Beuchesne on Wednesday, finds that CSU Stanislaus should have disclosed Sarah Palin’s contract to speak at the University Foundation’s 50th Anniversary Gala fundraiser in response to a March 31 records request from open government non-profit CalAware.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) announced the launch Wednesday of “Operation In Our Sites,” a new initiative aimed at Internet counterfeiting and piracy. In the first action carried out as part of the initiative, authorities seized nine domain names of Web sites that were offering first-run movies, often within hours of their theatrical release. Seven of those sites were targeted for seizure by the SDNY. Agents from ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) also seized assets from 15 bank, Paypal, investment and advertising accounts, and executed four residential...

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors took a symbolic jab at Arizona Tuesday for passing a controversial law last month that gives law enforcement authorities in the Grand Canyon State broad powers to check a person's immigration status. Critics fear the law will lead to racial profiling. San Francisco supervisors, on a 10-1 vote, approved a nonbinding resolution that calls for a boycott of Arizona-based businesses. It asks for, but does not demand, that city departments refrain from entering into new contracts or extending existing ones with companies headquartered in Arizona, unless severing those ties would result in significant costs...

The high school I work for is starting a collection contest next week of items needed for our men and women serving overseas. Here is what I have heard about this event so far. Each grade level will be collecting various items, which are assigned different point values, from a list. I have not seen this list as of yet but I did hear that the highest point values would be given to letters written to the troops. At the end of the contest, collected items are to be sent to our soldiers and the class with the highest number...

Wives step up to podium First of all, before I get to today's topic, I'd like to apologize for running a "Best of Snide Remarks" last week. I realize you'd probably seen that column before, but I needed a break, and a little fishing in Washington really did the trick. Anyway, it was great to spend some time outdoors; my batteries are recharged, and I'm ready to go. It's presidential debate season, and you know what? Who the hell cares? We've already heard it all -- all the accusations, all the name calling, and all the grandiose promises. And let's...

WHO IS NICK BERG? Who is Nick Berg? It's understandable if you're asking yourself that question. That's because he's all but disappeared from America's newspapers. The world learned of his grisly murder on May 11th. His murder was off the front page after a day. And just five days later news stories about him were nearly non-existent. Only one front page news story appeared in the Sunday, May 16th editions of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Chicago Tribune, LA Times, New York Times, and the Washington Post. The other 13 stories and editorials - many providing only fleeting references to Berg --...

Movie grip murder suspect arrested By Associated Press Police on Thursday arrested a movie grip suspected of murder, kidnapping and rape after he attempted to escape officers by leaping from a second-floor apartment. Paul Alan Ott, 35, of Los Angeles, was taken into custody at about 1:30 a.m. at a Hollywood apartment complex, police Sgt. Lamont Jarrett said. Ott was held on $1 million bail. Police believe the heavily tattooed Ott killed a woman found in a parked sport utility vehicle, and kidnapped and raped another woman who led police to the body, police spokeswoman Adriana Sanchez said. A third...

Scott Peterson might have a hard time getting a fair trial anywhere in the United States -- if jurors were chosen from people who participate in online surveys about his double-murder case. Fifty-three percent of those responding to an unscientific survey at The Bee's Web site admitted having made up their minds about whether Peterson is guilty of killing his wife, Laci, and their unborn son, Conner. Of those, 96 percent said he is probably guilty or definitely guilty. The prejudgment rates don't vary much among different regions of the United States, noted a professor who wrote the survey. "How...

Scott peterson has hired a psychic investigator to help find Laci. Norren Ryder (not sure of spelling) was reportedly hired by SP about 3weeks after Laci went missing and is said to be using clothing from the home to help find laci. She has also supposedly givin a copy of her "findings" to the police. Also, the 8 search warrants will remain under seal because, "since Laci was 8 months pregnant it would be considered a CAPITAL murder case and might compromise the investigation." Judge Ladine

<p>Stanislaus County Superior Court judges acted improperly when, at the request of law enforcement, they sealed search warrants in two Modesto investigations, one of those judges ruled Friday.</p>
<p>"The law says what the law says," declared Judge Roger M. Beauchesne, who had sealed one of the warrants. "The court erred in not providing proper notice to the public with regard to the sealing of all of the search warrants in both of these matters."</p>

<p>There's no way of knowing how many people paused Friday night to light a candle, flip on a porch light or offer a silent prayer for missing mom-to-be Laci Peterson and her unborn son. But the 27-year-old Modesto woman's family and friends undoubtedly took some comfort in the simple gesture as they gathered at 7 p.m. in stepfather Ron Grantski's front yard.</p>

FRESNO -- The father of a Modesto boy accidentally killed by police during a drug raid was sentenced to probation Tuesday for a single drug count stemming from an incident more than two years ago. A U.S. District Court judge in Fresno gave Moises Sepulveda Sr. three years' probation and ordered him to pay $3,100 in fines. Sepulveda pleaded guilty in September to a felony charge of using a communications device -- a telephone -- to sell or distribute marijuana. The charge carries a maximum sentence of four years in prison and a fine of $250,000. Because Sepulveda has no...
