The worst Zimmerman should be tried for is 2nd degree murder or manslaughter since his aggressiveness led to this happening.

Something else I wonder about is: Where was the gun? Did Trayvon see the gun and struggle with Zimmerman just to avoid being shot? PErhaps that led to the confrontation. Maybe he thought the guy was going to shoot him so he took off..Zimmerman then probably said “take another step and i’ll shoot you”, supposing he had his gun drawn.

Next thing, Zimmerman gets within arms reach of the kid, he lunges at him in an effort to knock the gun away from him, fearing for his own safety. Zimmerman then falls to the ground, accounting for the wetness on his back.
The gun is not far from Zimmerman on the ground, so Trayvon tussles with him to avoid him grabbing the gun, and calls for Help because this guy is grabbing a gun, possibly saying racial stuff, and Trayvon knows he will be shot if the guy gets the fun.
Zimmerman reaches the gun, aims, and manages to shoot the kid.

To prove my point, how many additional posts on his thread directly or indirectly reference race? Perhaps the creation of this thread was even motivated by the racial makeup of the primary actors (does that make the thread creator a troll?)

How many Trayvon threads in general on here have the majority of posts referencing the race and using it as a way to prove or disprove whatever point the poster is trying to make?

If by “think they are owed something” you are referring to the tendency of those groups to be robbed by blacks, its just a matter of the criminal element in the culture taking advantage of a financial target. Any successful businesscan be targetted by a criminal subsculture, regardless of the owners.

90% is a broad number, quite a broad brush to paint with. You might as well say 100%, since your evidence for that is just as non-existant as saying 90%.

Yea, some Hispanics, namely the ones who come here voluntarily. They were hardworkers before they got here. You can’t compare the Latino situation to the African American (native-born) situation. Even African immigrants tend to be more successful than both Hispanic and African American native-born citizens.
And I can give you data to prove that if you need it.

Those particular groups (Hispanic and African immigrants) came here by choice, and had a goal of working and being successful when they came here. They weren’t brought here against their will. I wouldn’t necessarily expect the goals of native-born blacks who were descendants of slaves to align with Hispanic and African immigrants. Sure, at some point, they might align, but you can’t compare the two groups.

The same can be said for Indian immigrants too.

And, on the flipside of the successful hardworking Hispanic, you have tons of Latino street gangs (Chicago, Los Angeles, suburban DC, and Houston to name a few major locations) who don’t make an honest living.

Are you sure that those facts are unverifiable, when in fact one could easily Google stories of police officers doing things that violate a person’s rights.

If you make an honest effort to look for such instances, you can see that it does happen.

How much artillery do you think the President oversees, not to mention the fact that if there is a race war, groups like the Nation of Islam will likely get assistance from foreign terrorist groups, using techniques that can render your AR-15 ineffective.

Oh, and you mention how many legal guns you own. Ever thought about how many illegal guns are owned by black street gangs, not to mention the ruthless mentality of some of them?

How so, when the commander of the Armed Forces is black? IF anything, it would turn into a civil war.

A more effective tactic would just be to boycott the state of Florida by spending Orlando and Tampa money elsewhere. The Disney/media lobbyists can’t turn a blindeye to lost revenue and would be quick to step in to influence legislators and necessary people.

Peruvian Hispanics probably make up less than 5% of the Hispanic population in America. The rest are overwhelmingly of Puerto Rican, Cuban, or Central American descent.

How can you come to the conclusion that the police took appropriate action ( no drug test for Zimmerman, sent narcotics instead of homicide detective, among other things) while even state and national prosecutors and legislators disagree with the way the situation was handled? Surely they are more in the know.

Even the county commissioners (who voted 3-2 no confidence in the police chief) disagree with you that the department handled the care correctly.

With all the people in the know claiming that the investigation was faulty, what makes you (sitting at your computer, instead of on the ground) think that it was handled appropriately?

There is nothing to suggest that Zimmerman announced he was part of a Neighborhood Watch program. The tapes alone suggest that he was already in an aggressive, frustrated state of mind by the time he exited the car.

Picture this: It is 6:30 pm, some guy, not wearing a cop uniform or badge, just starts tailing you in a car, you have no idea who this person is and what they’re up to. Could be a kidnapper or a gangster or drug pusher for all you know. You’re 17, so not much rational thought going on.

Out of fear, you start speeding up. According to Trayvon’s girlfriend, he initially did not run, he just walked fast. By the time Zimmerman got to him, he was only 70 or so yards from his father’s house.

How is moving to escape some unknown danger running like a criminal? Oh, I guess because the person running is black? Right? smh

And in the sentence after that, I explained what could have led to the bruises Zimmerman received. None of the eyewitnesses place the kid on him throwing punches down. The eyewitness accounts based on the calls show Zimmerman on the black guy, who is face down.

you still dont get it. not every picture of every victim or perp in any situation is going to be one taken within the last few months or go.

maybe, just maybe they use those pictures to emphasize the point that he was still a child, not a grown man.

and again, those pictures are irrelevant to the investigation at hand. maybe photos of zimmerman with a bloody nose after the fight would be more appropriate.

To the poster who said you have the right to kill a person sitting on you beating you up: If that really was what happened, its a fight that Zimmerman instigated and started. And any sane person would retreat once they saw a gun, despite your assertion that he just kept pummeling away.
Also, lets look at the logistics of a struggle. Assume they were wrestling around. How was he able to get a clean shot at the guy’s chest while being pummelled? Instinct dictates that you throw your arms up to block the blows. If anything, Zimmerman probably showed the gun, told the kid to get down, mounted him, and shot him. The bloody nose and stains can be attributed to Zimmerman possibly pulling the guy to the ground and both of them falling.

So what?? Wow, posts like this make it evident to me that you’re into some sort of racial profiling. Who cares what he is dressed like?

Does this give someone the right to shoot him for no reason. You can find a black kid that has that kind of look just about anywhere. I personally don’t care what photos of him they use since it is irrelevant to the point at hand.

I’m assuming he meant a son between him and Michelle. There is a 75% chance his son would look more like Trayvon than the white kid that was set on fire...

And? Does having black acquaintances excuse someone automatically from being racist? There are racist blacks against blacks (light vs dark skinned blacks).

I don’t see any relevance to having black family members and being racist against blacks, since people are racist against different shades within their own groups.

What does the police report say as far as eyewitness accounts go? Where does it say Zimmerman was knocked to the ground? Maybe Zimmerman, being the aggressor, got out, gave chase, grabbed the guy’s shirt and they both tumbled and it turned into a struggle.

In any case, a stranger was pursuing a kid minding his own business so any self-defense would have been on the part of Trayvon, not Zimmerman.

Oh, and last I checked, 17 is still a kid in America.
