I believe you were right because the only poll that should be trusted is the one taken at the ballot box.

However, even if he had been ahead, it was bad strategy, because sitting on a lead and trying to run the clock does not work any better in politics than it does in sports. Winners are competitive and they play the game out full tilt until the clock reads triple zeroes.

It was the point at which we were given a choice

Choice! Choice! What choice? The unwashed masses were given the same choice that we are always given which is whatever choice the two party elites want to give us.

George Bush and John Kerry was no choice, they were both two Ivy League educated snobs who agreed on more than disagreed on, such as No Child Left Behind, Medicare prescription drugs and blanket amnesty.

Bill O' Reilly knows nothing about choice other than whatever choice the elitists offer him because he is a typical MSM Ivy League educated snob who worshiped a piece of elitist political trash like Bobby Kennedy.

Barry Obama and Mittens Romney was NO choice. They were both Ivy League educated snobs and Barry was RIGHT about one thing Romney invented Obamacare before anyone knew who Obama was.

The voters HATED Obamacare so badly that they took historic revenge on the Democrat house members who passed it in the medterm election.

The unwashed masses were given the hope that it would be overturned but unfortunately the elitist snob by the name of Bush nominated one his elitist buddies by the name of John Roberts who screwed that pooch.

Choice! Choice! Don't give me that horse puckey, the last time the unwashed masses had a choice was when some populist by the name of Reagan beat the bejesus out of some effete elitist snob by the name of Mondale.

Since that Knox College grad won, the only two non east coast elite Ivy Leaguers to run for president were Bob Dole and John McCain who came to politics by way of their distinguished military service not by elitist Ivy League indoctrination.

That elitist Barry was taking the country the same direction that elitist Bush was, only difference was he was driving there a lot faster.

Romney would not have changed direction because his elitists masters who financed his campaign would be displeased if he attempted to reform the unfunded entitlemtents of the social welfare state, the subsidies and bailouts of the corporate welfare state, or to put the kabbosh on the globalist military adventures in nation building so much in favor of the military industrial complex. Romney would not have changed direction, he would have simply exited to a rest stop at the side of the road and promise us that we would change directions but wait awhile the time ain't right yet.

but when it came to the gen he was very good at destroying any conservative in the primaries but just couldn’t rise to the occasion when dealing with the “won”.

That is keen observation, that I would like to expand upon.

Bob Dole, Juan McCain, and Mittens Romney were each the hand picked choice of the pubbie elite and very weak candidates running against candidates that were very vulnerable.

Dole and McCain in particular were no cowards on the field of battle and each guy had no problem going on the attack in the primary, but in the general election that were appeared to be cowards to go on the attack.

Of course, Mittens had no military service record, his service record was in missionary service in which he went out pestering people with the Book of Mormon. But as you pointed out Mittens was had no qualms with bringing Bob Dole out of the nursing home to attack Newt in a trumped up paper interview if not one in the flesh.

Romney's defining moment as a candidate was the third debate. He was unwilling to attack Barry with the truth of Benghazi when Barry had attacked him with every lie in the book.

Mittens was an idiot just like Dole and McCain because they listened to the liars in the MSM who say that women voters do not like negative attacks.

Once again that is a lie, Barry ran what probably is the most unfair, dishonest and negative attack campaign in American history and women seemed to be all right with that.

Mittens played it safe because he believed the all the conservative know nothing commentators who said he had a lead and played it safe.

Mittens was not man enough to be president, you cannot reserve your strongest attacks for Newt Gingrich your primary opponent, get pummeled with lie after lie in the general election, and then have the truth of Benghazi handed to you on a silver plate and refuse to use it.

Don’t look to government or any politician to solve your problems.

Sarah had too much class to be completely forthright.

Don't look to those Pubbie elitists to offer a candidate to represent you and give this nation the leadership it so desperately needs when that elitist Romney could not find a place for Sarah to speak at the Pubbie elite convention although he allowed that treacherous fat boy to give the keynote.

Actually, the fattest President was not that Republican/Bull Moose Teddy Roosevelt, but the Republican William Howard Taft who was so fat that he would get stuck in the bathtub in the White House.

The Republican Grover Cleveland was no small man either.

Thankfully, Republicans are not prejudiced against fat men because Cleveland, Roosevelt, and Taft were all honest and decent and always good Presidents and in the case of Roosevelt a great president.

Boehner is a dead man walking.

    The enemy is Obama.

If he doesn't compromise with the enemy, then he and that "Tea Party" house will be made the scapegoats sending the nation over the fiscal cliff and chances are he will lose the house albeit honorably fighting the enemy to his political death.

If he compromises, then he will get NO CREDIT from anyone and go down dishonorably because those who have supported the Republican cause have no enthusiasm for those who have made concessions to the enemy.

Its up to you Johnny boy to write your own political epitaph, your lost the house fighting honorably or you lost the house by appeasing the common enemy.

“Let me tell you something , Chris Christie — it would not surprise me if Chris Christie at some point became a Democrat,” Ingraham said.

Earth to Laura you Pubbie elitist twit. Chris Christie is a DEMOCRAT and he has ALWAYS been a DEMOCRAT. Why would he want to officially become Democrat when he has made fools of Pubbie elitists like yourself. Actually, Christie is TOO FAT to ever amount to anything in the Democrat Party because they are prejudice when it comes to appearance. They never let their fat boys think they could ever be considered for POTUS or VP. The best a fat boy can do in the Democrat Party is a leadership position in the House like Nadler and Barney Frank both of whom were way smarter than that skinny idiot Joe Biden.

The track record of "Conservative" President's SCOTUS picks is pretty dubious.

Reagan who was a true conservative chose Day-O'Connor and Kennedy who had their hiccups. Although to his credit when it really counted, Kennedy got it right on Obamacare.

Daddy Bush who was a Rockefeller Republican with a conservative tan chose David Souter.

And Daddy Bush's boy's first two picks were the traitor John Roberts and the boy's nanny Harriet Mears.

Of course, true conservatives like the ones on this forum had to throw a conniption fit for Daddy Bush's boy to redraw Mears nomination and come up with a real conservative in Alito.

The only difference between John Roberts and Soutamayor is WYSIWYG as opposed to that closet crossdresser John Roberts.

To think that Romney who was a Rockefeller Republican from Massachusetts would make real conservative picks is a conservative wet dream because that was the reason the Bushbots gave on this forum in 2004 for enthusiastically supporting their boy who was anything but conservative.Junior was always to be found in the political bed of his elitist snob buddy Teddy Kennedy at least on the big things like No Child Left Behind, Medicare prescription drugs and blanket amnesty not to mention the bailouts of that treacherous Goldman-Sachs crowd.

Four years ago, when King Barry was elected, Dingy Harry and Queen Nancy were unchecked.

Today at least we have Boehner and the House to keep Dingy Harry in check although I fear it is much like asking Curly to keep Moe and Larry honest.

If Romney would have won, he would have been a one term president and most likely lost the House as well.

Obama \kicked every economic can down the road until AFTER the election. It makes little difference who was elected, there is going to be a FISCAL RECKONING in the next four years.

Whoever, the Democrat the runs in the next election will try to blame it on that Tea Party congress but I doubt if that will stick.

If Romney would have won, he would have taken the blame for the economic land mines that Obama planted to go off in the next four years.

Barry may have won the election, but his economic chickens are going to come home to roost and I am kind of glad that he will be in office to reap what he sowed.

But Missourians must make a choice between Todd and Claire.

Barry and Democratic Party elite in Washington instructs Missourians to vote for Claire.

Team Mittens and the GOPe tells Todd to step down.

The MSM elites on both MSNBC and Faux News went hysterical against Todd.

They say a man may be judged by the quality of his enemies.

Todd united the three greatest inside the beltway east coast elites against him.

Missourians do not take instructions from Barry, Team Mittens, nor the MSM elite.

A vote for Todd is vote against Barry, Team Mittens and the MSM. Missourians will not pass up a threefer one like that.

Why is Populism better than Conservativism?

You ask a qualitative question. Populism is not better than conservatism, it is simply more inclusive.

The greatness of Ronald Reagan was that he was always a populist and ideology was secondary to his populism.

Conservatism is an ideology and just like theology it can be hijacked by political elites just as theology can be hijacked by the theological elites of the institutional church.

So what makes Romney not a Populist?

The reason that Reagan sided with FDR more than likely had to do with the banks and the bankers.

There may not have been a bailout of the banks by the Gubmint in the Depression, but there were a lot of little guys called depositors they lost all they had on accunt of the perfidy of the banks. There was no FDIC before the crash.

Romney like all the elitists of both parties favored bailing out the banks for their greed and incompetence even though it was little more than a decade after the S&L bailout which was supposed to be the "never again" bailout.

Whether Reagan favored the Gubmint bailout of S&L's in the late eighties and early nineties and the Wall Street bailouts in 2008 cannot be definitively answered, but given his early background, it would have been doubtful. Mittens on the other hand was on board for the Wall Street bailouts as was his VP Paul Ryan although the current elitist pariah Todd Akin voted against the bailouts.

    Mittens' speech was a JOKE.

It was the typical claptrap one might expect from a self-absorbed babyboomer.

I know something about self-absorbed babyboomers because I am one and I have been spoiled and for this I am not proud.

I don't give a twit about his daddy putting no stupid rose by his mothers's bedside.

I don't give a twit about his PERFECT wife or his PERFECT kids.

    Times are bad.

Times were bad in 1980 just as they are bad today in 2012 when a real conservative named Ronald Reagan accepted the nomination for president.

Ronald Reagan LOVED Nancy Reagan every bit as much as he Mittens loved his wife. Ronald Reagan loved his kids just as much as Mittens loves his PERFECT kids although his kids were neither submissive nor perfect. Whether Ronald Reagan worshiped his daddy like Mittens worshiped his daddy is quite another question.

When Ronald Reagan accepted the GOP nomination for the Presidency of these United States, it was not PERSONAL, it was not about him, he was humbled and honored by the opportunity to serve his country.

Ronald Reagan made NO mention of his family because he had a vision greater than the vision one sees when one looks in the mirror.

Ronald Reagan mentioned Lincoln, Thomas Paine, and one his earliest heroes who was Franklin Delano Roosevelt but there was NO mention of his successes nor his resume.

If any Freeper would like to read the speech of the GREATEST CONSERVATIVE PRESIDENT to ever hold Our Republic's highest office then they need to go to this address.

This is a repost as it was intended to be posted on this thread not the one which it was posted.

My response was not so much against Clint Eastwood but what Eastwood's appearance represents.

When Team Mittens and the GOPe makes a concerted effort to keep the tough talking testosterone of the Tea Party off the stage in Tampa, they set themselves up for the sardonic ridicule embodied in my post.

They wanted some testosterone so they called in an eighty year old Hollywood icon to supply the much needed testosterone, but as honorable and decent a guy as Eastwood may be, his toughness comes from Hollywood scripts not from political warfare.

Team Mittens gives us a Hollywood icon while completely dismissing the Tea Party testosterone of Sarah Palin.

Attempting to replace the Tea Party testosterone that could have been provided by a real warrior named Sarah Palin is just plain cynical, and plays anyone taking this Ward and June Cleaver informerical seriously for a fool.

No one in my memory has been as viciously attacked as Sarah Palin. Sarah unlike Team Mittens is not testosterone challenged and she has always fought the good fight.

She never was a political insider even in her own state. She took on that GOPe bridge to nowhere crowd in her home state and sent them packing.

he isn’t sitting on his lazy ass and pontificating on his computer

Maybe as Curly Joe said, I resemble that remark.

But I would rather be pontificating than to have drank the GOPe kool-aid and be cheerleading and celebrating the eighty year old testosterone of a Hollywood icon as if it somehow mitigates the travesty of ignoring Sarah Palin whose testosterone is not fictional but real.

Not only is Sarah being dismissed by the GOPe, Drudge had up a Facebook post from Sarah on his website last night that Faux News which is the propaganda arm of the GOPe had cancelled her scheduled interviews on the cable channel for the night.

I bet Karl Rove wasn't cancelled.

To paraphrase a quote from a Jack Nicholson film, "You can't handle the truth." To Team Mittens, Karl Rove and GOPe, I say you had better discount and ignore Sarah Palin, because "You cannot handle her Tea Party testosterone."

The first guy named George Bush gave the worst acceptance speech in recent memory with that thousand points of light speech and his Clint Eastwood promise "Read my lips, no new taxes" when he was lying through his teeth. But as bad as that speech was he was following Dan Quayle who I am sure gave a forgettable speech as he was a forgettable vice-president.

Ryan gave a great speech for the same reason Palin gave a great speech, they were not political hacks who had given any national convention speeches of any length and they were surprise picks who had not been overcoached and they came across natural.

The right message from a credible messenger who appears to be fairly honest and can be trusted which is saying something for anyone of either party who has spent more than a decade in the know-nothing, do-nothing legislative branch in D C.

Mittens will have trouble connecting with the middle class on the repeal of Obamacare when his term as a blue state governor of the bluest state in the union was defined by Obamacare when Barry was just a typical Cook County machine politician learning how to game the social welfare state to gain political power and win elections.

I don't like Barry because he is typical elitist condescending Ivy League educated law professor who was trained as a Chicago machine politician and collected friends like Jeremiah Wright and William Ayers.

Black has nothing to do with it just as being Jewish has nothing to do with my dislike of Rahm Emmanuel, Irish catholic has nothing to do with my dislike of the Kennedys and Mormon has nothing to do with my dislike of Mittens.

I do not find condescending elitists who cannot connect with the working middle class likeable.

Since Ronald Reagan left office, there has not been much to like because the nation has become morally and fiscally bankrupt by elitists of both parties who are globalists and like big government even if it destroys the working middle class.

The source of my comment was that a Gecko with a Brit accent probably came from Australia or possibly New Zealand where Geckos may have originated.

Geico was obviously playing with the fact that Geico sounded similar to Gecko, and since the gecko did not have any of the accents of the many other warmer climate countries where geckos could be found, I always associated this Geico gecko with Australia. Even though I understand their is a difference between a Brit accent and Australian accent, I have difficulty telling the difference unless Australian slang is used.

How could he be a paratrooper in the 1st Infantry Division, when that division had no organice parachute battalions or regiments and appears to not have had parachute units as attachments either? Parachute infantry typically were organic ergiments of the Airborne divisions or independent parachute battalions and regiments attached to corps and army headquarters for an operational assignment. What parachute infantry, artillery, or other parachute unit was it?

It was my undestanding that he was originally assigned to and trained with the Big Red One in Fort Benning Georgia. That paratroop unit was his original unit and I assumed that it was part of the Big Red One. My father was very proud of being a member of the paratroopers as well he should have been. He broke both ankles in a training accident when something on one of the rigs that they used to simulate jumps on the ground broke, this caused him to have to transfer to air corp where he spent the duration as a turret gunner on B-24's where he flew missions while being stationed first in North Africa, then Sicily, and Italy.

My father was very proud of making that paratroop unit as there were a lot of soldiers who wanted to be in the unit but could not pass the rigid physical tests required. He always fondly spoke of training with the Big Red One at Fort Benning, Georgia.

That is probably an accurate statement that he did train with the Big Red One and I was in error saying that he served in the Big Red One. I should have said the he served with or trained with the Big Red One.

I appreciate that you read this forum close enough to question any fact that may be in error. It keeps people honest and accurate. I am honest and I always intend to be accurate, but like most people I miss that mark too often.

Uncle Buffy understands the Sheeple and it has made him almost as much money as the Gubmint bailouts made him.

GEICO has great commercials. The Caveman commercials were better entertainment than than whatever programming trash that they sponsored.

I have had State Farm Auto for over forty years. I do a price check every once in awhile I have not been able to get a lower price.

Geico's icon is a gecko with an English accent which means it is most likely Australian.

Australia is the continent where men are men and the sheep get nervous.

It is comes as no surprise that Geico would fire Ermy who was UNITED STATES MARINE where men are men and wherever the Marines be stationed from the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli the sheep have no reason to be nervous.

Sarah Palin was invited and offered a speech during primetime and declined according to the party chair's interview with Mark Levin. This is consistent with Palin's statements (on Greta talking about Akin) and activities on behalf of contenders down-ballot races--she'll be in Arizona.

That is a Pubbie Elite FAIRYTALE, I ain't drinking the Kool-Aid. Party chair whoever that be means nothing to the unwashed masses like me. Mark Levin gets a bit more respect but that boy has been lied to by better Pubbie Elite snobs than the "party chair".

Am I calling Sarah Palin a liar?

I like Sarah Palin but she has to pay the bills and she takes checks from that senile old globalist elite bugger named Rupert Murdoch and I would not expect her to be forthright on Faux News with O J apologist Greta von Sustern.

Sarah Palin is a class act. She ACCEPTED an apology from that clown who cruelly made fun of Trig at some stupid roast.

Sarah is not going to waste her energy fighting with her enemies in the Pubbie Elite such as Team Mittens.

Reagan did not trash the same Rockefeller Elitist when they did him dirty in 1976, he held his tongue and when they crash and burned, he picked up the pieces and saved conservatism.

Sarah is smart, and Team Mittens can do her dirty, she don't give a twit, she knows who she is, and she knows who Mittens and his NWO and CFR buddies are, and after those boys have shot their wad and crashed and burned, her day will come.

    Barry said that

    that I am loved.

Is that what the Bible says?

    Maybe

He chose to make the grammatical center and subject of the sentence himself which is typical of any egomaniac.

That oh so simple and oh so beautiful Christian hymn that is taught the very young says, Jesus loves me, this I know, which makes Jesus the subject and us his chosen object of his favor which is unmerited because that Eternal favor which is granted is by his grace alone and it is not merited.

The love that Barry is talking about is not by the Eternal but temporal because his exposure to Christian faith and his Christian teacher was the Reverend Jeremiah Wright who was not a teacher of anything theological but everything ideological.

Barry got one thing right and that is, that he is loved because he is of the world not of Christ.

The world loves Barry and the world hates me because I am a Christian. I can deal with that because Jesus loves me this I know.

John 15:19 tells us why Barry said that "I am loved," and why I know that Jesus loves me even though the world hates me.

John 15:19 KJV If you were of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

The time has come to stop the nonsense. The Bushes were elitists who pretended to be Reagan Conservatives when they were no more than Rockefeller Republicans who had spent enough time in Texas to get a conservative tan which wore off real quick when they went to D C and assumed power.

Ross Perot was not worthy of the Presidency but he was a populist. Pat Buchanan was a populist as well and he challenged the former head spook in the Ford-Rockefeller administration.

Reagan was a populist. Buchanan was a populist. Perot was a populist.

Both guys named George Bush were elitists. Bob Dole was an elitist who replaced Nelson Rockefeller on Ford's election bid. Juan McCain was an elitist who joined hands with every piece of globalist elitist trash in the United States Senate in order to pass Comprhehensive Immigration Reform.

The time has come for Reagan Conservatives to stop pretending that the Bushes, Dole, McCain and Romney are nothing more than elitists who have sold their souls to globalism.

This is a repost about how Bush lost the 1996 election all by himself and Perot was but a footnote.

Blaming Perot for Clinton's victory is denial by Republican voters who are bamboozled into thinking that the first elitist snob named Bush was a conservative which he was not but a true blue Rockefeller Republican elitist.

The first George Bush was an idiot who was trailing a nowhere man like Michael Dukakis. He would have lost the presidency if not for a true conservative like Lee Atwater who transfused some Reagan conservative blood into his New England elitist blue blood campaign.

The former head spook in the Ford-Rockefeller administration was convinced to make the no new taxes pledge the centerpiece of his campaign. He became defined by his favorite slogan taken from a Dirty Harry movie "Read my lips, no new taxes."

Defining your entire campaign with such a pledge is problematic if you do not have the political gonads of a Ronald Reagan to keep trust with the voters who expected you to keep your word.

It is problematic because if you define the first campaign with the pledge made, the next campaign will be defined by the pledge broken.

Bush was just another conscending elitist snob politician who will say or promise anything to get elected.

He was much like Barry who is the same condescending elitist snob who made a lot of promises that he never kept or intended to keep.

To blame Perot for Clinton's victory and Bush's defeat simply discounted Bush's betrayal of those who voted for him but more importantly Bush's betrayal of Reagan conservatism upon which the tax issue was a keystone. There is no defense for the elitist snob George Bush particularly by those who claim to be Reagan conservatism, a conservatism that this CFR globalist elitist betrayed on more than one occasion.

George, who attempted a run for the Republican presidential candidacy in 1964, pulled out of the running when questions over his natural born Citizenship eligibility came to the fore.

You have done your homework, I accept that as a fact, and this is something we can both agree on.

I bash Romney because he is an elitist who came from an elitist family with a political history. Romney, Rockefeller, Kennedy, or Bush, all those families are more alike than different.

They may or may not have worked hard to earn their wealth and status but all those families felt they were entitled to office and were condescending and looked down on members of the unwashed masses such as myself.

The key thing in your post was when questions arose over his eligibility. Was George Romney ignorant of Our Constitution or was he being dishonest and trying to pull a fast one?

My guess is that Our Constitution be damned, that he was quite dishonestly trying to pull a fast one.

He like all elitists felt entitled to office and they would do whatever it took by hook or crook.

The Kennedys felt entitled and that is why Joe Kennedy went out and bought the West Virginia primary in 1960.

The Bushes felt entitled that is why when the former head spook in the Ford-Rockefeller administration made a promise to the unwashed masses about no new taxes, he cared little when he broke his word. He felt entitled to office and if he had to make promises that he most likely never intended to keep, so be it

During the primary, Mittens invoked a very curious phrase, something called voluntary deportation. That phrase was just as stupid as "legitimate rape" but illegal immigration is not a hot button issue to either party elite and the elites have made a tacit agreement not to bash each other on illegal immigration for political gain.

What did Romney mean by illegal deportation? Who knows, his handlers wisely told him to shut up about it and avoid it. Illegal immigration is not an issue either party elite wants to debate.

Since Romney has not uttered the phrase again, I will speculate on how such a curious phrase came about.

Romney used the phrase because voluntarily deportation because it accurately described what his family did when they needed to avoid the heat over polygamy in Utah.

I would assert that this revealed his elitism. He thinks that illegal immigrants can just up and leave and comfortably go live in Mexico if they so choose.

That is what his family did because they had the material means to leave the country comfortably and go live comfortably in Mexico and come back and live comfortably when all the dirty details of the polygamous acts had been ironed out.

I know something about the Romeny family history and I will not speculate on how much Romney cares about natural born citizenry.

I simply he know he was an elitist born and bred and he like his Daddy feels entitled to hold this nation's highest office and even though Mittens is qualified, he will do or say whatever it takes to rule over us the unwashed masses.

I don't understand Catholicism and I do not understand the Pope.

It could be argued that Nancy Pelosi is the most powerful proponent of abortion and infanticide on the planet.

It could be argued that the Pope is the most powerful advocate against abortion on the planet.

He for whatever reasons agreed to meet with her.

And yet as defiant as she was to highest authority in the Catholic Church there were no marks on her hands that he repeatedly rapped her knuckles with a ruler for her insubordination.

If I be Pope, Nancy be excommuinicated in a New York minute, and I'd kick out Chwissy Mathews for good measure as well.

It is my understanding that in times past many were excommunicated for lesser acts of defiance.

This is a great article because it gives a fair minded Brit view.

On Saturday, Obama held two events in New Hampshire, which has four Electoral College votes and on Tuesday and Wednesday he was in Nevada, which has six. Obama, moreover, won Nevada by more than 12 percentage points in 2008. What does this tell us? That Obama is on the defensive and knows the only way he can win re-election is by the narrowest of margins, by ‘slicing and dicing’ – his own pejorative term – and eking out a 51 to 49 per cent victory, crawling across the line to 270 electoral college votes.
