"But the pace of job growth in health services has slowed sharply this year"
Yet I wonder whether or not they understand economics at all. The economy sucks...nobody is arguing that, yet our beloved leader is a strong proponent of universal healthcare.
So lets think...the healthcare industry is cutting jobs. Fewer people to give care. Then we introduce universal healthcare and all the people who could not previously afford healthcare come rushing over for their free service. So now we have a case of skyrocketing demand but minimal supply.
People who desperately need treatment will spend their time idly waiting for it. What we will also see in this situation is a case of under-the-table healthcare services...When doctors realize that which is occuring, some will be inclined to treat patients privately, thus having the ability to charge them larger sums of money and essentially defeating the purpose of the healthcare system that has been put in place.
The system is flawed, people. Those who need will not always receive and those who receive do not always need.
