WARREN, Ohio - According to Michael Currington, a representative for the city of Warren's police union, Google Earth shows clearly the reason for what started with a warning and ended with controversy."The resource officer had given a number of verbal warnings over a period of time to the principal of the facility to not park in a handicap designated area," said city law director Greg Hicks.But...

I have had it. I just watched the latest episode of "The Orville". But this latest episode, "Primal Urges" pissed me off to NO end. Let's forget the overall subject of "gay" porn addiction by a completely non-human species, and the total delve into how that affected the ship and crew...and the clear homosexual overtones. I cannot let pass the behavior of the sudo-Klingon character of Bortis who stood by and watched a woman say goodbye to her family...husband and son...of which there was a good 30-60 second scene...and our Uber Macho "hero" did NOTHING to save her. His behavior...given...

BOSTON (AP) — Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s convictions or death sentence should be tossed because it was impossible for him to get a fair trial in the same city where the shrapnel-packed, pressure cooker bombs exploded, his lawyers told a federal appeals court on Thursday. In a 500-page brief filed in the 1st U.S. District Court of Appeals, Tsarnaev’s legal team outlined a host of other problems with his 2015 trial, during which the defense admitted from the outset that he and his older brother carried out the attack. His appellate lawyers are also pointing to issues with jurors,...

Aye maties, 'tis the day we've all been waiting for: International Talk Like a Pirate Day. But avast! Before you grab your grog and parrot, let's get ye educated! The idea for the day was born in 1995 on a YMCA racquetball court in Albany, Oregon. John "Ol' Chumbucket" Baur and his friend Mark "Cap'n Slappy" Summers began throwing around insults, just like pirates. They selected Sept. 19, simply because Summers had recently divorced, it was his ex-wife's birthday, and he figured "the date was stuck in my head, and I wasn't going to do anything with it anymore," he...

Pac-Man and Donkey Kong master Billy Mitchell has built up quite the reputation for himself over the last few decades, both for his undeniable gaming skills and his abrasive and competitive personality. Unfortunately, it appears he’ll now be remembered for something else, as well: Cheating. Twin Galaxies, a retro-gaming record organization that tracks scores in many classic arcade games, announced on April 12 that it was removing Billy Mitchell’s Donkey Kong scores from its leaderboards, as well as all scores he had achieved in other games. The decision comes after the validity of several of his Donkey Kong scores were called...

A Utah man is suing the Irving-based Boy Scouts of America after the organization voided every merit badge his son — who has Down syndrome — has earned, blocking the 15-year-old's path to becoming an Eagle Scout. Chad Blythe of Payson, Utah, filed the lawsuit last week in the state's 4th District Court, The Salt Lake Tribune reported. He claims the Boy Scouts and the Utah National Parks Council engaged in "outrageous and reckless conduct" and that his family has suffered emotional distress because of their actions.Logan Blythe had been planning to create kits with blankets and onesies for infants with special needs as...

We already have a well-established way of representing time using years, months, week, days, hours, minutes, and seconds. Want to go smaller? We've got milliseconds, microseconds, and even nanoseconds. But none of these suited Facebook in terms of accuracy, so engineers at the social network came up with a brand new unit of time called Flicks. A flick, as described on the Flicks GitHub page, is "the smallest time unit which is LARGER than a nanosecond." One flick is 1/705,600,000 seconds, where as a nanosecond is 1/1,000,000,000 seconds. But why did Facebook need to invent Flicks? It's in order to...

Wonder Woman is using her super powers to stand up for women in Hollywood. A month after canceling to appear at a dinner to honor Brett Ratner, Gal Gadot still has a lot to say about the famed director and the accusations mounting against him. Now, Gal says she won't reprise her role for future "Wonder Woman" movies unless Brett Ratner is not involved, reports Page Six. Brett Ratner's production company produced the film in conjunction with Warner Brothers. "Wonder Woman" has already brought in over $400 million. But if Gal Gadot has anything to say about it, the producer...

Rosa María Hernández was born in Mexico but has lived in the US since she was three months old. She was being taken from the Texas border city of Laredo to Corpus Christi for a gallbladder operation, travelling in an ambulance with a relative who is a US citizen. As they drove through an inland Border Patrol station about 60 miles east of the frontier...

To date, every comet humanity has seen inside the Solar System has come from the Solar System, whether it's the Kuiper Belt or the billions of comets believed to make up the Oort Cloud. Now, however, it looks like astronomers might have found a comet of interstellar origin. They've used Hawaii's Pan-STARRS 1 telescope to track C/2017 U1, an object with a very eccentric, hyperbolic orbit (that is, moving quickly enough to escape gravitational pull) that wasn't connected to the Sun. The trajectory suggests that it's a comet which escaped from a nearby star, rather than something knocked out a...
