Hi Freeper friends! Our friend LS is coming on Glenn Beck's show live, right now, as we speak. For the time-delayed, it's in the third hour, at :38 after. Glenn just noted that "A Patriot's History of the United States" is a must-read ... and that he's an American hero, toiling in the background, trying to get the word out. Tune in!

"Taking on the anti-Muslim racists" Blair Ellis reports from New York City on a demonstration that stood up to the racist tide of abuse against plans for an Islamic community center. August 23, 2010 Several hundred people challenged the right-wing's anti-Muslim hate in a counter-protest in downtown Manhattan THE PROPOSAL for the construction of an Islamic community center in lower Manhattan near the site of the World Trade Center has become a lighting rod for the right wing's war at home on Arabs and Muslims. But opponents of bigotry in New York City mobilized on August 22 to make sure...

Opportunity to excel more important than equality of outcome In the weeks before the fight over a new Supreme Court justice takes place, it is worthy to note that we are not remaining true to the purpose of our Constitution. In the years after the Revolutionary War, our Founders had specific goals when they wrote our Constitution. Chief among those was certainly "a more perfect union." It also was, however, to ensure that Americans would never again be ruled by their government. When asked about the Revolutionary War, John Adams would say: "But what do we mean by the American...
  • Freeper Authors at CPAC: "Pursuing Liberty" Introduced

Rick's View (aka Tigerized, Proud Dad of a US Marine): This was my first CPAC, and it didn't disappoint! We had come to CPAC to announce our upcoming book "Pursuing Liberty," and attending this conference was just incredible on so many levels. Imagine walking into a thriving community from the intellectual wilderness, and discovering (with very few exceptions) that all of the residents were highly motivated patriots, deeply concerned about our country's rapid slide into socialism. In many ways, CPAC was the ideal place to introduce "Pursuing Liberty" to the public. What's "Pursuing Liberty?" It's a collection of ten true...

Hello my dear FRiends ... First, I'd like to thank you so much for your prayers for my mom, who passed suddenly yesterday. I can't tell you how much it meant to me and my family. While I was talking with my sister, she mentioned that a friend of hers in the South will be undergoing serious surgery tomorrow morning ... and that her friend is caring for her young son by herself. Her name is Teresa, and I ask that you lift her and her son up in your prayers, and that her surgery is successful. God bless you...

Hello my Freeper friends, My 88-year-old mom has been in the hospital since just before Thanksgiving, and is now in ICU. Turns out she had E. coli poisoning, which led to kidney failure, dialysis, and they're still trying to knock out the infection in her blood. I'm praying that she pulls through this. She's been moved to ICU, where she's getting better care. Her blood pressure is still low, and she's on O2. Please, friends, I ask that you lift her up in prayer for her healing. Thank you.

Obama and ‘Redistributive Change’ Forget the recession and the “uninsured.” Obama has bigger fish to fry. By Victor Davis Hanson The first seven months of the Obama administration seemingly make no sense. Why squander public approval by running up astronomical deficits in a time of pre-existing staggering national debt? Why polarize opponents after promising bipartisan transcendence? Why create vast new programs when the efficacy of big government is already seen as dubious? But that is exactly the wrong way to look at these first seven months of Obamist policy-making. Take increased federal spending and the growing government absorption of GDP....

/ The article below is written by Stanislav Mishin, a columnist for the Russian newspaper Pravda./ *American capitalism gone with a whimper . . . . .* It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people. True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it...

Sen. Barbara Boxer of California instructs Brigadier General Michael Walsh not to call her "ma'am," the sign of respect shown by members of the military towards non-military ... she wants to be called "Senator," because gosh darn it, she worked hard for that position. No further comment necessary, but I'm looking forward to them anyway. Words fail.

Hello everyone, I'm working on a book about my passion (and, I think, yours): American exceptionalism through the eyes of immigrants who haven't always had the fortune of living in freedom. This book consists of first-person stories of Americans who lived under authoritarian regimes: Cuba, Eastern bloc countries (Poland, Russia/former USSR), Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Laos, and so on. Unfortunately, there are many, many such countries to choose from. The local talk station I listen to has broadcast calls from new Americans who came here for liberty, which they weren't accorded in their homeland. Every call I've ever heard from one of...

Hi everyone, I'd like to ask for a strong, ongoing prayer for my friend's son, about to turn 18, and a new Marine. He will likely be heading to Afghanistan in a couple of months as a rifleman. His family and friends are incredibly proud of this wonderful young man, whom I've known since he was 2. Please keep him, his family and his unit in your prayers. Thank you.

® An American Cyber-Column The Community Organizer-in-Chief Rich Galen Friday March 6, 2009 * I finally figured this out. Barack Obama is the Community Organizer-in-Chief. He is taking the inequities, the slights, the unfairness, the spread between wealth and poverty, the choices the rich have but which the poor do not … and he wants to fix that. For everyone. * Sounds good, actually. Who doesn't want to take "your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" and lift them up? * It is not an issue of taking from someone who has a lot and giving...

Hi, my FRiends - This came to mind when I watched SNL last weekend, with guests John & Cindy McCain and musical guest David Cook. Remember American Idol? Everyone KNEW that Archuleta was going to win. Foregone conclusion. Why not just skip to the finals? Well, Archuleta, being young, peaked early, stuck with what had worked well for him before, including a lot ofsocial commentary wrapped up in music - while dark horse David Cook kept steadily moving on, trying a few new things, some unexpected things. Even sang Andrew Lloyd Webber and made it sound pretty fresh. And he...

  • American Thinker: Polls Show Obama or McCain is Winning

    The American Thinker ^ | 10.09.08 | Steven Warshawsky
Two months ago I argued in these pages that Barack Obama will not win this year's presidential election. My prediction was based on essential factors about Obama himself -- his inexperience, his tax-and-spend liberalism, his history of race consciousness -- that make him an unacceptable choice to lead the nation in this time of difficult foreign and domestic challenges. I remain convinced that, on Election Day, most American voters will refuse to pull the lever for a candidate who falls so far outside the political and cultural mainstream of the country. While hardly a compelling candidate himself, John McCain offers...
