Dear Friends, Last week, House Democrats introduced their health reform legislation. The America’s Affordable Choices Act of 2009 (H.R. 3200) is over 1,000 pages long and, in my opinion, puts the government in charge of our health care system. A preliminary estimate by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that the plan will cost at least $1 trillion and still leave 17 million people uninsured-the population of the state of Florida. Furthermore, nothing in this legislation limits these benefits to those who are citizens. Speaker Pelosi has said we need to pass this in the next two weeks. I...

A website featuring comments by, for and about "principled conservatism" is being investigated by the Canadian government, and could be fined or ordered shut down for some postings about Islam and homosexuality. Connie Wilkins, who with Mark Fournier runs Canada's Free Dominion site and posts articles, comments and blogs on a wide range of issues, said she just was notified by the nation's Human Rights Commission about the investigation. The Human Rights Commission is appointed to investigate complaints that "hate speech" or other illegal activity has been detected, and issue rulings or recommendations to the national Human Rights Tribunal, which...

AUSTIN, Texas - Police shut down 10 blocks of businesses in the heart of downtown Austin early Monday after dozens of birds were found dead. Experts were testing for any sort of environmental contaminant or gas or chlorine leaks that might have killed off the animals, police spokeswoman Toni Chovanetz said. There were no reports of any humans harmed, but a 10-block stretch of the main north-south route through downtown, several side streets and all buildings in the area were blocked off and expected to remain off-limits until about noon, Chovanetz said. The bird carcasses were found overnight along Congress...

The history of my request can be found on the source URL. The judge gave the abuser & her parent's the kids over the weekend (10am Sat to 6 pm Sun)with unrestricted access. My friends attorney believes the judge will be giving her back the children on Friday, the date for the next "temporary" hearing. We have spoken to Judicial Watch & they may send out a representative, our local (SW District) guy will be out of town. He indicated we should have as many "concerned citizens" attend the hearing as possible. If any of you are in the Denton...

I have a friend who is going through a hearing for his children. His ex-wife was found "responsible" for a child abuse incident prior to the divorce but was awarded the kids anyway. He has a great deal of evidence, showing she is still abusing them, but no one piece so significant it can't be challenged. Since he is male he cannot find anyone who will help him thus far. The judge has given him temporary guardianship over the kids until this Thursday when the temporary hearing is to be completed. The final hearing date will be decided later. But...

Fact-Free News ".. researchers discovered that large minorities of Americans entertained some highly fanciful beliefs about the facts of the Iraqi war. Fully 48 percent of Americans believed that the United States had uncovered evidence demonstrating a close working relationship between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda. Another 22 percent thought that we had found the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq... The fair and balanced folks at Fox, the survey concludes, were 'the news source whose viewers had the most misperceptions.' Eighty percent of Fox viewers believed at least one of these un-facts; 45 percent believed all three." Added 4:45...

The Anti-Capitalist, Radical Environmentalists are Coming to Texas What: Join us in Dallas on May 28 and 29, 2002, to rally for capitalism, democracy and the American way of life. A major international movement by radical "green" socialists is coming to Dallas Texas. Their goal: shut down Exxon/Mobil and other free market corporations. The "thugs" are just uneducated radicals but the leaders of the movement know that in order to have no competition for their "green" fuel, U.S. companies must be shut down. They have been successful abroad and are moving their game plan to the U.S. These are the...
