  • Sarah Palin floats idea of leaving the Republican Party [VIDEO]

    A good, thoughtful post.

On an emotional level, I like the idea of a genuinely conservative third party.

But on a practical level, I say no.  It has been tried before, and did not suceed.  I worked for a time with one of these "third" parties.

There is a more practical alternative.  That alternative is to take actual control of the Republican party away from the Gloalists who now run the party.

For many decades, the Repulican party has been in the hands of what I call Rockefeller republicans.  These are globalists who are only marginally better than the socialists who now control the Democratic party.

The current Conservative tactic seems to be to nominate conservatives to office, and then vote for them.  This has been successful in a few cases, but as long as the Rockefeller wing controls the party aparatus, coseratives will get only lukewarm lip service support.  The last presidential candidate was a supporter of socialized medicine (at the state level) who speaks conservatism as a second language.

The strategy must be from the bottum up to succeed.  Attend party conventions en masse and elect county officials, including chairmen, boards, and delegates to the district convention, who are actual conservatives.  Follow this tactic up the chain, until conservatives control the RNC and can choose a conservative national chairman.

Not possible?  If conservatives are not strong enouth to take on the Republican apparatus and win, then we are not strong enough to take on both the Republican and Democrat machines and win.

It is possible.  If it is not done, then I see a bleak future for this country in general and for my grandchildren in particular.

  • The beast with the ten horns is the European Union

    Hmmm.  Interesting, but, as I see it;
    • The ten horns of Daniel 7 are remnants of the Roman empire.  Some may be mideastern, but Rome is in Europe, and it would seem that some of the ten remnants would also be in Europe.
    • The EU is not the "Beast with 10 horns."
      • The EU overlaps the Roman Empire, but many parts of the EU were never part of the Roman Empire.
      • The EU excludes all Asian nations, which were part of the Roman Empire.
      • The EU was formed peacefully.
      • The 10 horns will be reunited by conquest of 3 and capitulation of the rest.
    • Key to understanding Daniel 7 is to correctly identify the eleventh horn, which came out of the 10, but is different from them.

Obama's own church (Trinity) Church of Christ ...

I believe that President Hussein's former church (Jeremiah Wright's) was a United Church of Christ. not a Church of Christ.  The UCC is quite different from the Churches of Christ.

    Two points:
    1. From statements on TV, it would seem that the Roman Bishops saw through the lie.  The attempted deception failed.
    2. There seems to be a glimmer of recognition, at least on Fox news, that this rule does not affect only one church.  A Southern Baptist Convention official was on TV pointing out that Baptist charities are also affected.

Compromise?  No, a distinction without a difference.

If Obama was reelected with a Republican congress, they would fight him every inch of the way. But if Romney is elected, he will cement everything Obama has done.

Well said.  We need conservative (and not just Republican) control of both the House and the Senate.  It would be nice to have a conservative President, but if the choice is between a Leninist socialist (Obama) and a Fabian socialist (Romney), I will skip that section of the ballot.

  • When did 'revisionist history' enter the english language?

    Celtman to LS
But I think probably the first “authenticated” revisionist in America was Charles Beard with his “Economic Interpretation of the Constitution.”

This was published, I believe, in 1913, and may have been the first revisionism of the Progressive movement, but it is not the first revisionism in America.

An earlier example would be referring to the 1860's failed war of independence as a "civil war".  It was no more a civil war than was the successful 1776 war of independence.  History is written by the victors.

I expect that someone could come up with an even earlier example.

Interesting.  A side discussion might be to look at how much revisionist history has bee put into school textbooks.

But while the term may be relatively new, the practice is much older.

Ok, let’s call it what it is, Anti-Jew.

    Sounds good to me.

    What’s your point?

Simply that the words we use, and their meanings, matter.

    1. The article and its title, in particular, are misleading.  This is NOT an oath:
“I, the undersigned, pledge that I intend to support the nominee of the Republican party for president,”
It is a pledge.  A minor point?  No, an important distinction.  This is an example of Fuzzy Think.
    2. As far as I know, political party's are under no obligation to be democratic at all.
The United States is a federal union of simi-autonomous states.  At least some of these states do, by law, require major parties to select their candidates by primary election.  Others may not.  Don't know about Virginia.
    3. I am a conservative first.  I consider Republican primaries to be the most important elections.  I vote in Republican primaries, since only there is tere a hope of voting for a conservative.  But if the party nominee is another globalist or a socialist (and there are only two choices), I will simply leave that section of the ballot blank.  The lesser evil is still evil.  To be explicit, I will not vote for Romney (a socialist), or the amphibian (a globalist who tries to emulate a chamelian.).
    4. For decades, the Republican party has been controlled by the Ro9cefeller wing (globalists who depend on corporate crnneyism), although the bulk of Republican voters are conservative.  The Tea Parties raise some hope that this could change, but it is crucial that conservative gain control of the party organization, at the county, state, and national levels.
    5. Conservative ratings:

    Obama nation

    LOL.  I like it.

But the trend did not start with Barach Hussein Obama.

    • Under Bush 41:
      • Restored a hereditary islamic kingdom (Kuwait)
    • Under Clinton:
      • Bombed a Christian nation (Serbia) back to the dark ages, facilitating the islamic anshutz of Kosovo.
    • Under Bush 43:
      • Toppled a dictatorship (yes, he was a scumball) in Iraq, and then allowed it to be replaced by a sharia based regime (red death pond scum).
    • Under our current POTUS:
      • Toppled another scumbag dictatorship in Lybia.  (The replacement is still a little fuzzy, but I expect it to resolve to another Sharia nation.)
      • Declared (through the Vice-POTUS) that the Taliban is not our enemy.

Our Department of Defense is defending who against what?

The thing that really frightens me about this Ron Paul character is that he might run as an independent.

Can you provide a contemporary example in which Ron Paul suggests that he might run as an independent?  It aeems to me that It seems to me that the idea only comes from Paul's detractors.

The Catholic Church is in his sights because it’s practically the only organized and intellectually consistent opposition to him and the rest of the Death Eaters.

    Say WHAT???  Except for:

    • Baptist churches
    • Pentecostal churches
    • Charismatic churches
    • IFCA churches
    • Churches of Christ
    • Bible based churches in general
    • Tea parties
    • The Republican party
    • Pro-life groups not affiliated with the Roman chrurch
    • Second amendment defense groups
    • And a long list of other groups.

In 2008, Barach Hussein Obama carried all the New England and most of thr coastal states, which have significant proportions of Roman church members.

Most of the fly-over country states, which have lower proportions of Roman church members and more Bible-based Christians, and where the political influence of the Roman church is negligible, voted against President Obama.

    But ... was He Christian?

Actually, my answer is no.  Does Christ follow Himself?  No, He is the unique Leader.  Did Christ die for his own (nonexistent) sins?  No, He died for our sins.  In short, for Christ to be a Christian is a self-contradictory paradox.

Who are these people that keep pushing Romney?

Obviously,"they" are the Republican Establishment.  (The Republican Party has been controlled by Rockefeller globalists for at least the last 21 years.)  Mitt Romney is one of "them."
