In response to the AMEX sponsorship of a play suggesting assassination of President Trump, a boycott should be initiated. I would be interested in talking with anyone who might have the web and marketing capabilities necessary to begin. I will watch this thread for ideas and contacts. Let the fun begin! jes sayin ps: have not yet repaired the signature line referring to the Zero administration. After dinner....

When I was a cadet, Neil Armstrong stopped by USAFA and flew a 1-26 in the wave (1970). At the time, the glider program had 2 towplanes (Helio Couriers) and 4 or 5 gliders total, program in infancy. Major McMurtry was the OIC and we called it "McMurtry's Air Force". Sully was in the group. I have a picture of the 1-26 with me and some of the guys (I haven't checked to see if you can see the people's faces (slide is down in ***) -- I was always more interested in the airplanes than the people -- )...
  • Super rich see federal taxes drop dramatically

WASHINGTON – As Monday's tax filing deadline nears, ponder this: The super rich pay a lot less taxes than they did a couple of decades ago, and nearly half of U.S. households pay no income taxes at all. The Internal Revenue Service tracks the tax returns with the 400 highest adjusted gross incomes each year. The average income on those returns in 2007, the latest year for IRS data, was nearly $345 million. Their average federal income tax rate was 17 percent, down from 26 percent in 1992.

Check out the Veteran's Day Google art: nice little commie flag peeking out from under the American flag, or the muzzie crecent ... take your pick. They must be convinced of their cuteness. You think that was accidental? I think not.

First and last vanity post: Simple test of whether or not to attack Iraq: Tally up the protesters and nay-sayers. Do they look familiar? Are these the same people who have been disassembling America for 50 years? Yes. So if they vehemently oppose attacking Iraq, there is a very high likelihood that attacking Iraq is the necessary and appropriate course of action for the United States. Or at least, that is what our experience indicates.

Gibson `dragging’ after Ranger training Mel Gibson has a lot of respect for Army Rangers — especially after taking part in some of their training. “I’m dragging. I couldn’t even make it through today’s round,” Gibson said on March 1, as he discussed his next movie, part of which will be filmed at Fort Benning, Ga. Gibson and other actors spent the last week of February going through an abbreviated Ranger training program. Filming of “We Were Soldiers Once ... and Young,” based on the 1992 best-selling Vietnam war book by retired Lt. Gen. Harold G. Moore and U.S. ...

Date Posted: 06/06/2000 Linda Bowles by Linda Bowles, CREATORS SYNDICATE The next election will reveal a great deal about the determination of the American people to maintain their freedoms. There are those who disagree. They argue that there is not a dime's worth of difference between the two major parties. They are suggesting that you might as well not vote or that you might as well toss the dime in the air and base your vote on how it comes down. This cynicism is dangerous. It does not bode well for our republic. It reflects a sense of fatalism ...

June 2, 2000 Commentary A Dangerous Summit (By Caspar W. Weinberger. Mr. Weinberger, defense secretary during the Reagan administration, is chairman of Forbes magazine) Summit meetings are potential minefields. That's why presidential staffs work so hard to prevent them from producing anything of substance. Communiques are drafted, exchanged and agreed upon weeks before the gathering. The staff's highest priority at the actual meeting is to ensure innocuous discussion. But tomorrow's summit between President Clinton and Russia's Vladimir Putin could turn into something far more substantive and "risky" (to borrow Al Gore's favorite word) for the U.S. Mr. Clinton, still ...

by Jim Garamone American Forces Press Service WASHINGTON (AFPN) -- DOD has approved service plans to train military personnel in the intricacies of the "don't ask, don't tell, don't harass" homosexual policy. Service members will receive training in the policy at all levels of professional military training. They will also receive periodic "refresher" training at their units. The top civilians and uniformed members of each service have also issued strong statements highlighting Defense Secretary William Cohen's addition of "don't harass" to the policy. The statements also stress the need for commanders to apply the policy fairly. DOD spokesman ...
