A Florida conservative has registered an official “Tea Party” with the office of the Secretary of State, and is promising to run candidates against Republicans and Democrats in state and national races.

“The current system has become mired in the sludge of special interest money that seeks to control the leadership of both parties. It’s time for real change,” says Orlando lawyer Frederic O’Neal, the new party’s chairman, who couldn’t be reached immediately by phone, in a press release.

A spokeswoman for the Florida Secretary of State, Jennifer Davis, said the party had registered in August, and that its qualified candidates will appear on the ballot in the state.

O’Neal compared his party’s role to that of the Conservative Party in New York’s 23rd District. Florida, however, lacks the “fusion” rules that has allowed third parties in New York to amass influence by offering their ballot line to acceptable major-party candidates.

It’s unclear if O’Neal, who has represented high-profile tax protesters, has the wherewithal to organize a movement that prides itself on spontaneity and existing outside party structures.

The Tea Party will become one of 32 minor political parties certified by the state, including also the Real Food Party of the United States of America, the Prohibition Party, and the Florida Socialist Workers Party. Its website is not live. [/QUOTE]

Independants like myself are people who refuse to compromise our principles for the sake of choosing a side or label. Both parties are corrupt and for years I’ve voted for the lesser of two evils but evils none the less. When a true Conservative party becomes mainstream, then I’ll choose a side & a label. Until then, I’ll hold my nose and vote with the R’s.

Here’s a link that serves to validate at least one of the emails. http://listserv.arizona.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind9812&L=itrdbfor&T=0&P=795

Those of you that have the original file, here’s some info on how to extract the text from it:

The file names in the email directory are UNIX dates of the emails.

Emails are in UNIX format, so Notepad won’t open them properly.

Copy all the text files to a single folder.

Move all the text files into a single document.

A simple way to do this is by using DOS in a command prompt window:

Go to the folder in & type:

    TYPE *.txt>emails.doc

Then hit enter. It will dump everything into a single text file with “doc” as the suffix.

Then select ‘Open With’ Open Office Writer or MSWord etc. It will guess (usually correctly) the right formatting and ask you if you want to convert. Then it will open to show all the emails in order from oldest to newest. You can scroll through them, do text searches, etc. Be sure to ‘Save As’ a RTF file or with a differnet name or you will have to covert it each time you open it.

This is only one reason why:

    Luby's massacre

On October 16, 1991 in Killeen, Texas, a man named George Hennard drove his 1987 Ford Ranger truck into a Luby's Restaurant in Killeen Texas, yelled "This is what Bell County has done to me!" then opened fire with a Glock 17 and later a Ruger P-89, and then opened fire on the restaurant's patrons and staff. He killed 23 people and wounded 20 before he killed himself. Only the work of a large man breaking through a window allowed the rest of the patrons to escape. One noted exception was a mother and her 4 year old child which Hennard allowed to leave. Though Heenard was shot several times by police only when he ran out of victims did Hennard walk to the rear of the seating area and take his own life with a gunshot to the head.

It should be noted that many of the patrons, such as Suzanna Hupp, had firearms in their vehicles but by law were not allowed to carry them on their person. Survivors and family of the victims, with the help of the media, were successful in moving lawmakers to consider the concept of conceal carry permits for citizens. As a direct result of this massacre, in 1995 Texas lawmakers, led by Suzanna Gratia Hupp (whose parents were both killed in the massacre), passed a law that allowed Texas citizens to obtain a concealed carry handgun permit in part as a reaction against the massacre. Soon after many states considered similar weapon permits for lawful citizens.

The following people died as a result of the shooting

Patricia Brawn Carney, 57, Belton, Texas

FWIW, this has been around for a while, several years. Made & discovered in a foreign country at that.

It will interest some to know that it is legal in roughly 30 states to possess such a weapon. It is goverened by the National Firearms Act, NFA and it would be considered and AOW or Any Other Weapon.

Legal ownership would consist of completing a BATF Form 4 in duplicate, having your local Chief of Police sign the form stating nothing prohibits you from ownership, fingerprints for a 50 state FBI background check, photographs, a $5 tax and about 90 days for BATF processing.

The mothers actions forced this child to take this action. It wasn't an act of anger or malise on his part.It wasn't his choice, it was hers. He should feel no guilt and should go on with his life. If she was a loving caring mother, she wouldn't have a criminal record. One less defective human on the planet.
