My favorite singer. To me, what makes his voice perfect is that it isn’t perfect. That slightly gravelly sound gives it such feeling.
Funny story. He moved into my neighborhood of LA somewhere around 1950 (to the best of my knowledge as I wasn’t alive at the time), and it caused quite a stir since at the time the neighborhood was all white. Some of the neighbors raised quite a stink with one confronting him by saying something to the effect:
“We don’t want any undesirable people around here.”
Nat’s response (paraphrased)?
“You know, I don’t either. If I see any, I’ll be the first to let you know.”
“I find the DE gives less ingrown hairs and skin irritation.
I’ve nicked myself twice in two years (and in the same spot) being in a hurry after oversleeping. But I’d never go back to electric or multiblade.
There’s something appealing about shaving the same way as my father and grandfather did, and a nice metal razor just feels better than a disposable plastic dodad.”
I dumped cartridges for a DE (double edged) razor 2 years ago. Best shaves I’ve ever had. Much closer than ANY cartridge. 10c per blade (box of 100 is $10 on Amazon and a good DE razor runs about $30-40). Replace the blade about 1/week.
GE&H is a stupid book to read as analogy for Obamacare, because as everyone who as read it to their children knows, after 40 pages of insisting that he doesn’t like GE&H, he tries it and admits he does like GE&H...including with a fox and in a box and with a mouse and in a house.
Get ready for dems to make that point...we just need to try it.
Kenneth Cole is a died in the wool repugnant leftist.
In 2001, he ran an ad with a picture of an intersection. One street was name Bush Street and the other was Cheney Street. One had a “Wrong Way” sign and the other had a “Dead End” sign. Saw it within a week of 9/11. Ad disappeared soon afterwards.
