How deluded dares a despot? How desperate and bizarre? Sit back and hear the sad tale of The Bones of Bolívar.

For all you holiday carollers, here is my version of a holiday classic. I've kept most of the rhyming syllables the same. I don't expect people to go from house to house singing this, but I do laugh when thinking about it. The 12 Days Of Marxmas On the Twelfth day of Marxmas, Obama gave to me: 12 Acts of Treason, 11 Guns a-Walking, 10 Agents Peeping, 9 Markets Crashing, 8 Cronies Bilking, 7 Liars Spinning, 6 Sheep Obeying, 5 Obama-phones, 4 Empty Words, 3 Henchmen, 2 Fists Ungloved, and Restrictions on my Liberty. Now, everybody, sing!!!

"That there should be this lingering infestation of really corrupt people who sit trying to dismantle the wishes of the people [Republicans, Conservatives, and The Tea Party], the mandate that has been given to Barack Obama, and I don't know what more they want. The only thing left for Barack Obama to do is to work like a 3rd world dictator and just put all these guys in jail." -- Harry Belefonte interviewed by Al Sharpton on MSNBC

Reasons To FReep Atlas Shrugged Part 2 This Weekend (and Bring FRiends) It's a good movie. The bigger the box office, the better Part 3.It faithfully represents the middle third of the book.It faithfully represents what is going on right now in this country. It faithfully makes our case for Capitalism. It gives a big supportive nod to the Tea Party. It takes well-deserved swipes at Occupy. It practically screams: "Wake up, this is Obama and his Cloward-Piven cabal".It's got a cameo with Sean Hannity. It's got a cameo with Teller. It will really p!ss off The Marxists: They don't want the message getting out. They want the...

House Republican leaders are quietly hatching a plan of attack as they await a historic Supreme Court ruling on President Barack Obama’s health care law. If the law is upheld, Republicans will take to the floor to tear out its most controversial pieces, such as the individual mandate and requirements that employers provide insurance or face fines. If the law is partially or fully overturned they’ll draw up bills to keep the popular, consumer-friendly portions in place — like allowing adult children to remain on parents’ health care plans until age 26, and forcing insurance companies to provide coverage for...

There is little to no evidence that George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin because Martin was black. But that hasn’t stopped members of the Congressional Black Caucus from sponsoring a resolution linking Martin to gun control and lamenting supposed racial profiling of the teenager: Honoring the life of 17-year-old, Trayvon Martin, urging the State of Florida and others to repeal the Stand Your Ground law, and admonishing involved parties to pursue full investigations into all homicides, regardless of defenses asserted by the offender. Whereas on February 26, 2012, Trayvon Martin, an African-American youth, was horrifically shot and killed while walking from...

The battle between one man and the city of Roswell that started over his keeping of chickens ended Monday afternoon in a fiery explosion. Investigators believe that rather than be evicted from his home, Andrew Wordes poured gasoline throughout the house and set it on fire. "There was an initial explosion and subsequent fire," Lt. James McGee with Roswell police said during a news briefing. A body was found inside the home, but a positive identification had not been made late Monday afternoon due to the condition of the body, Capt. Paul Piccirilli with the Roswell Fire Department said. The...

This email was sent yesterday by me to Rush Limbaugh. Rush, The statement you released today has left some people disheartened, but not me. It did however, leave me concerned: concerned for you, and concerned at how aggressively this Plague of Marxists moved against you, and so soon after the death of Andrew Breitbart. I am stunned, but ultimately not surprised, at their audacity. I can only imagine the details of what influenced your decision to take this course of action, but I implicitly trust your judgment that the statement was needed so that your program could continue the fight....

Papa Possum'sNew World Nursery Rhymes Political Poetry for Traitorous Times The Bones of BolívarToma! How deluded dares a despot? How desperate and bizarre? Sit back and hear the sad tale of The Bones of Bolívar. A man named Simón once there was, General in Freedom's War, e'er marked down by Historia as El Libertador. For Sovereign Rights, Natural Law, and Private Property, he rallied forces against Spain, these Things to guarantee. Like Heroes in The North, he fought and soon both near and far The Southern Continent was freed by Simón Bolívar. But as time passed he saw his...

The quiet of a late Sunday afternoon in midcountry Greenwich was broken by the chanting and slogans of about 70 conservative and Tea Party activists who rallied outside a fundraising event for an embattled Democratic senator in the home of a wealthy venture capitalist. The event was held for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., who is facing a fierce battle to retain his seat in the face of a strong Republican challenge. Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., helped arrange the event.

Let me say this, you know that things are really bad when the only pro-American movie in ages was made in France. Director Peter Morel of “Transporter” and writer Luc Besson, director of “The Big Blue”, “La Femme Nikita”, “Joan of Arc”, “The Fifth Element”, “The Professional”, and other films, contribute in making “From Paris with Love”. On the surface the movie looks like and is marketed as an “unlikely buddy” movie which is set in Europe. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays James Reese, a level headed U.S. Foreign Service employee who works in the embassy by day and for a...

A suggestion to all Freepers, do what I'm doing for the State Of The Obama Address. Play Living Colour's "Cult Of Personality"... LOUD AND ON A LOOP, through the whole thing. Heck, I did it for the Immaculation Address, you'd better believe I'm going to do it for this one too!

The great thing about horror/action movies, even some of the bad ones, is the escape which they provide. Buy a ticket. Buy some popcorn. Find a seat. Watch zombies get decapitated. Watch vampires get staked. Watch aliens get zapped. Spend a couple of hours of good wholesome fun. At least that's what I was expecting when I went into “Daybreakers”. However, I soon found that there was no break to be had. The first movie directed by the Spierig Brothers was a romantic short called “The Big Picture” which was released in 2000. Their second movie was a campy zombie...

The other day a guy I work with sent me an email. Attached to it was a flowchart. It was titled, “How To Make A Michael Cera Movie”. Not surprisingly, despite the sarcasm, it was pretty accurate. Which is really kind of sad. If you're going to make a movie about youth rebellion, you might want to start by tossing out any movie formula. However, I don't think that this is a consideration when you cast Michael Cera. Nothing against him personally, but, after “Superbad”, “Juno”, and “Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist”, it is becoming apparent that he is just...

There are some tip-offs that a movie will probably contain a large quantity of rant. One is the talent which acted, directed or produced it. Another is the theme which it covers. Still another is the praise and awards which it receives. So, knowing that “Up In The Air” starred George Clooney, presented itself as “the world according to the frequent business flier”, and had been nominated for six Golden Globes, I entered the theater with some trepidation. Just the same, I did still make an attempt at objectivity, a lot of movies overcome their circumstances. I mean, whoa, look...
