Alcee Hastings, a Democratic congressman from Florida, has died at age 84, Fox News has confirmed. He suffered from pancreatic cancer. Hastings had been a federal judge and was impeached and convicted by the Senate in the late 1980s. But he then ran for Congress and won in 1992. Hastings represented Florida's 20th Congressional District, which includes Democratic areas around Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. He was the dean of the Florida congressional delegation as the longest-serving member from the Sunshine State.

Missouri state prosecutors have dropped their criminal case against the Republican governor. Gov. Eric Greitens had been accused of invasion of privacy for taking a nude picture of the woman with whom he’d been having an affair. According to ABC News, prosecutors still want charges brought against the governor, but want a special prosecutor to bring them later. Prosecutors have acknowledged not having the supposed picture.

Her passing was announced in an email from Eagle Forums, First Vice President Eunie Smith, saying Schlafly died Monday after a long illness. Donald Trump got in a lot of trouble for criticizing the Mexican heritage of the judge that is presiding over the Trump University case.
