French Economic Spies Target U.S. France has established a special school for economic espionage that trains students to target U.S. technology and information. The French newspaper Liberation reported last week that the Economic War School, known as EGE, is training spies to collect the information. The school has been training economic intelligence gathering for the past eight years in Paris. It was set up by the Defense Consultancy International, a semi-public company linked to the French Defense Ministry. The school employs intermediaries for case studies in such areas as "destabilizing the salmon market" or opening the energy sector to competitors....

FOCUS ON IRAN Powell's State Dept. opposes striking Iran; Condoleezza Rice plans changes The State Department has been adamantly opposed to the prospect of a U.S. military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities. But officials said the department's position could change under Powell's designated successor, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice. President George W. Bush nominated National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, one of his closest confidants, to replace departing Secretary of State Colin Powell. Rice was nominated by President Bush as part of what could be a more assertive U.S. policy in the Middle East and Asia, officials said. Such a...

MIDDLE EAST REPORT Nightmare at Foggy Bottom: Arabists panicked at prospect of Rice's appointments U.S. Assistant Secretary of State William Burns stands in front of a picture of late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat in the West Bank city of Ramallah, on Nov. 21. Colin Powell has long operated on the principle, "Don't rock the boat." It was his credo at the State Department where he usually sidestepped appointments and diplomacy. But Powell is gone, to be replaced by National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and Foggy Bottom is scared. Nowhere is the fear more palpable than in the department's Near...

The New Geopolitics of the Persian Gulf:What the 2nd Bush administration should do about Iran By Assad HomayounSPECIAL TO WORLD TRIBUNE.COMFriday, November 19, 2004 The following article is adapted from an article in Defense and Foreign Affairs Daily of Nov. 9, 2004. The re-election of U.S. President George W. Bush significantly affects the entire strategic balance in the Middle East, and particularly with regard to Iran. The Iranian and Syrian governments, in particular, plus many nominally non-state, transnational players — such as al-Qaida, HizbAllah, and the like — geared much of their strategic posturing over the past few years...

WorldTribune.com: 'Advanced NATO' sub chased from Israeli watersTEL AVIV – A submarine from a NATO navy was detected entering Israeli territorial waters last week on a reconnaissance mission. Military sources said the submarine came from what appeared to be a NATO navy that patrols the eastern Mediterranean. The sources said the submarine entered three miles into Israeli territorial waters off the coast of Nahariya before it was detected. The submarine then left Israeli waters, pursued by Israeli ships and helicopters. "The speed and signature of the submarine were that of an advanced NATO navy vessel," an Israeli military source said....

They said the General Staff has urged approval from the government of Prime Minister Recep Erdogan and discussed the proposed invasion with the United States. "The current phase is to show the United States that we're serious," a Turkish government source...

After reading the scores of vanities and replies to threads regarding the blatantly treasonous actions of the MSM, I've yet to hear anyone mention a possible means of driving the stake through the heart of our nemesis. So I'd like to make a proposal to everyone within the forum, in the hope that as a movement it wll catch on and gain some momentum. It's really quite simple, and at the same time it's even something that is good for all of us. What am I proposing? "NO TV DAY"Since the election will hopefully be over today, and tomorrow we'll...

I know - another damn vanity post - but this one is merely for a humor break. Try to imagine sitting at your window seat, you've just taken off, and then you hear that engine next to you change tone instantly (and not for the better). Not wanting to look out the window, you finally force yourself to do it. And this is what greets you. I know that there are plenty of other pilots in the forum - as well as AP rated mechanics. Any ideas of why other than someone forgot to fasten the nacelle?

FOCUS ON U.S. INTELLIGENCE Report: U.S. set up post-Saddam intelligence without the Iraqis The United States has failed to develop an independent intelligence capability in Iraq. The U.S. military refused to form a partnership with allies in Iraq for a joint intelligence apparatus to help fight the insurgency war, according to a recent report. Instead, the U.S. military pursued an impossible task of establishing an independent intelligence capability in the Arab country, according to the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies. "The U.S. has tried to carry out the impossible mission of developing effective human intelligence on its...

For others it was a day of rejoicing, a revengeful exultation, a long-awaited triumphalism born from the death and suffering of thousands of innocent victims. They were saying: That'll teach them! America deserves it and must repent! And many were asking maliciously: Don't you have remorse for your wrongs? Why don't you ask yourself...

From Washington, DC... America has no shortage of oil Washington has a shortage of political will to let American workers go get it By the House Committee on Resources As oil prices climb to record highs above $50 per barrel, some have asserted that we are "running out" of this resource. In truth, we are not running out of oil in America. We can safely increase domestic production by at least 17.2 million barrels per day by 2030. "America has no shortage of oil for the foreseeable future," House Resources Committee Chairman Richard W. Pombo (R-CA) said. "Washington has a...

I Can FlyFive Sailors assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Three (EODMU-3), cling to a line beneath a MH-60S Knighthawk helicopter. The EOD Team was flown over San Diego harbor during a demonstration, known as "spy-rigging," an evolution used by the Navy and Marine Corps for hasty placement and extraction in hostile areas. In the following photo, this is the view as seen from the rope. For any other old soldiers here that remember "fast roping", this seems to be a great improvement upon that technique which was rather hazardous at best. For any current active duty soldiers in...

This article was originally posted on 27 Jul 04, but considering today's UN vote regarding Israel as well as Kerry's "Global Test", this article takes on new importance. The positions taken by our so-called "allies" become far more clear after reading this, and the complete folly of what Kerry is spewing becomes even more infuriating. He has sided with our mortal enemies (yes, I know that we already knew that, this merely reinforces that conclusion). 27 Jul 04: Last Tuesday, the 25 nations of the European Union (EU) voted unanimously to support a United Nations Resolution condemning Israel’s defensive fence...

The lighter side... Computer technology and automobiles... All of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on. At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry, and stated, "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon." In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the...

Note to Admin Moderator: I'm posting this in "Breaking News" since no one has said a word about it as of yet. If you don't feel it should stay in Breaking, please leave on Front Page or FR. Thanks. While checking the seismographs tonight for the region, it is becoming apparent that Mt. Rainier is also awakening along with Mt St Helens. At first, I had hoped that the seismographs at Mt Rainier were merely picking up the earth movement from St Helens, but the tremors do not correlate. By checking the charts for St Helens back on the 25th...

I was just reading another thread on this subject, when I came to the line stating that the quake intensity and frequency had diminished on Monday. That it complete eyewash - for whom I don't know. Evidently they don't want to scare the masses - just in case. The thread I'm referring to is located here.Below I'm posting the last three seismographs for you to see that this claim is bogus indeed. This swarm is appearing to grow, with over 1,000 earthquakes so far since Thursday. The depth of the quakes is still near the surface, and they are saying...

The swarm continues beneath Mt. St. Helens again today - it's been a long one indeed. The quakes are growing somewhat in size, with mid to upper 2's on the Richter scale beoming more common. The depths of the quakes is remaining at or near the surface for the most part, yet not all of them in the last two hours have been in the caldera. There is some movement as you can see from the map posted. Below are the current seismograph and the current seismicity map.

I apologize for the vanity post, but there is an earthquake swarm in progress at Mt. St. Helens - several hundred shallow quakes in the last day now. None are large in magnitude, more of the type resulting from movement in the magma. Here is the current seismograph for Mt. St. Helens "Dome Station" which is monitoring the actual lava dome in the caldera:
