from a friend: Who owns season one on dvd and have mad dvd ripping/editing skills? ...if so, is it possible to rip ONE scene from ONE episode for me.....tonight? I know, I know, last minute, but I was hoping to find my brother's copy (he has season 1...somewhere, but who knows where) and figure out for myself if such was possible. Here's the story, I'm doing a presentation on Porphyria for my biochem class, and the CSI season 1 episode "Justice is Served" features a woman who has porphyria, and I'd really like to use the wrap up scene (Grissom's...

  • Behar: 'A lot' of Homeschooled Kids Are 'Demented'

"The View" co-host Joy Behar is well on her way to unhinged, if not already there. Earlier today, NB's Justin McCarthy noted that Behar, in mentioning GOP Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin, said that "we all know that the woman is an airhead." Michelle Malkin noted this evening that Behar also took an uncalled-for cheap shot at those who are involved in an important and growing alternative not only to the public schools, but also to traditional brick-and-mortar classroom education (video is at link): Behar show(ed) .... her contempt for both homeschooled students and parents: “A lot of them are...
  • Alaskan Legislator Tells Maddow: 'What Good Does It Do' to Fire a 'Dangerous' Cop?

An unintentionally hilarious assertion was made by Alaska State Senator Hollis French on Rachel Maddow's MSNBC cable show Friday night. Maddow and French were discussing the so-called Troopergate scandal and Gov. Sarah Palin's alleged grudge in firing former Alaska public safety commissioner Walt Monegan for not reopening an investigation of a state trooper who went through a nasty divorce with Palin's sister. Hollis, a Democrat who led the state legislature's investigation into Palin's actions in firing Monegan last July, cited "severe logical fallacies" in claims made by Palin and her husband Todd, including the Palins' request for reduced security despite...

And so it begins. While the Wake County school system could have easily stood up to the unsubstantiated charges levied by the ACLU and CAIR, they chose to sacrifice Mr. Escamilla on the altar of political correctness. As such, Mr. Escamilla has no choice but to seek redress via the legal system. Much has been said on the various discussion forums about this issue. While many accuse Mr. Escamilla of using his position to proselytize and promote Christianity in the public school, the facts of the case clearly indicate this never happened. Others defend Mr. Escamilla based on our country's...

Son got his first ticket. Policeman said he didn't stop at a stop sign. It was dark, not even street lights in this area, but he saw this difficult-to-tell action in the dark, when Nathan says he had come to a stop. He didn't argue though. But then he wanted to search the car. We've always told son not to agree to that, there is no reason. (actually, his former-cop dad told him don't agree to it) Dad is not in the picture, so I have to ask you all. This was his first traffic stop and he was nervous....

Sonya Rinker was looking for a guy: someone who was kind, respectful and had a special place in his heart ... for tractors. She wanted a man who could share the thrill of a good tractor-pull show, who could see beauty in a shiny row of green and yellow of John Deere tractors. She didn't know that somewhere along these rolling Pennsylvania hills, there was such a man, a shy guy named Tom with two vintage Deere tractors. He had been looking for a gal, someone who'd put up with his milking cows at 3 a.m. and his six-day work...

I have a heat pump (Ruud) and it's normally in good working order. I had it worked on and checked two months ago, it's not low on freon. It's frozen over. I am too. I turned on the emergency heat but that only keeps it about 62 in here. This has been going on for 4 days and there's no end in sight. There's frost and ice all over the unit outside, I have been calling heating companies and no one can come yet. I went and bought a heater from Walmart, but it isn't putting out any heat to...
  • Pup latches onto urinating man

A DRUNKEN man urinating through a fence got a nasty surprise when a playful puppy in the adjoining lot latched onto his member. Kann Veasna took a break from drinking wine at a street stall to relieve himself through a hole in a fence, according to news agency DPA. However a puppy spotted the Mr Veasna's appendage as it poked through and apparently thinking it was a toy latched on, newspaper Rasmei Kampuchea reported.
