Sweet friend. I truly truly truly truly hope and pray that this will help you get relief.

And my age is stage I am not looking for correction of the problem. Correction of the problem is what I’ve always said is most important – but that was when I was younger

now I don’t want further surgeries

Just an already single strong -.maybe just a nerve burn or whatever to ease the pain.

I’ve been doing better because I’ve been up and doing extra nothing. I’m not a Rusty

I don’t worry about if things aren’t done or clean or whatever

. I’ve been spending a lot of time on my deck reading part of it is because I can’t get online.

So I hope this goes through. Good luck sweetheart we all love you here

    just behave.

    Oops sorry impossible

Gary Rich Burghoff (May 24, 1943) is 81 years old today! Best known for originating the role of Charlie Brown in the 1967 Off-Broadway musical You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and the character Corporal Walter Eugene “Radar” O’Reilly in the film M*A*S*H, as well as the TV series. He was a regular on television game show Match Game from 1974 to 1979 for 204 episodes, standing in for Charles Nelson Reilly, who was in New York doing a Broadway play, and continued to make recurring appearances afterwards.

Burghoff was born in Bristol, Connecticut, moved to Clinton, Connecticut, and then later moved to Delavan, Wisconsin.

He studied tap dance and became a drummer, despite being born with brachydactyly caused by Poland syndrome, which made three fingers on his left hand significantly smaller than those on his right hand. He gained early experience acting with the Belfry Players of Williams Bay, Wisconsin. He received his acting training at HB Studio in New York City.

In 1967, Burghoff portrayed Charlie Brown in the original off-Broadway production of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

He was the drummer for a band called The Relatives in 1968. Lynda Carter, later a well-known actress, was the band’s singer. The group opened at the Sahara Hotel and Casino lounge in Las Vegas, Nevada, and played there for three months. He and Carter remained friends, and much later they appeared together in an episode of her hit series The New Adventures of Wonder Woman in the 1978 episode “The Man Who Wouldn’t Tell”.

original film made guest appearances in the television series M*A*S*H, Burghoff was the only actor to continue as a regular, in the role of Radar O’Reilly. Although he played the same character in the series as in the film, Burghoff has cited differences in the portrayal:

In the original feature film M*A*S*H, I created Radar as a lone, darker and somewhat sardonic character; kind of a shadowy figure. I continued these qualities for a short time until I realized that the TV M*A*S*H characters were developing in a different direction from the film characters. It became a group of sophisticated, highly educated doctors (and one head nurse) who would rather be anywhere else and who understood the nature of the “hellhole” they were stuck in. With [Larry] Gelbart’s help, I began to mold Radar into a more innocent, naïve character as contrast to the other characters, so that while the others might deplore the immorality and shame of war (from an intellectual and judgmental viewpoint), Radar could just REACT from a position of total innocence.

Burghoff left M*A*S*H in 1979 after the seventh season because of burnout and a desire to spend more time with his family, though he returned the following season to film a special two-part farewell episode, “Goodbye Radar”. He explained, “Family, to me, became the most important thing. I was not available as a father because of my work. That doesn’t stop when the work stops. Whenever you go out as a family, you’re always torn from family to deal with public recognition.” “Goodbye Radar” was supposed to be the final episode of season 7, but at the behest of CBS, it was extended into a double-episode for the November sweeps the next season. Fellow cast member Mike Farrell tried to persuade Burghoff to stay on the show, citing the lackluster careers of former M*A*S*H regulars Larry Linville and McLean Stevenson after their departures.

Farrell later said, “Gary Burghoff may well have been the best actor in the company, it’s always seemed to me. His focus, his ability to find those little gems of behavior that made everything absolutely true were a marvel to behold.”

Burghoff was married to Janet Gayle from 1971 to 1979. They have one daughter.

In 1985, he married Elisabeth Bostrom. The couple have two sons; they divorced in 2005.

Alan Alda is an Emmy Award-winning actor, author, and director. He is known for many roles but most famously for his role as Captain Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce in the CBS megahit M*A*S*H*. He is 88 years old and born in the Bronx borough of New York City.

Alda is the son of actor Robert Alda, known for portraying George Gershwin in the biographical film Rhapsody in Blue. The younger Alda was born with the name of Alphonso Joseph D’Abruzzo. He contracted Poliomyelitis when he was seven years old in the early 40s. He earned a degree from Fordham University in English. He served in the United States Army in the mid-50s.
Alda made his first television appearance in 1958 on The Phil Silvers Show. In the 60s, he made occasional guest appearances on shows such as Coronet Blue and Route 66.

In 1972, Alda was cast as Captain Hawkeye Pierce for M*A*S*H*, a TV adaptation of the 1970 film MASH. Originally a comedy, the show evolved into a drama in many aspects. It depicted the crazy life of a mobile surgical hospital during the Korean War. He was with the show for its duration of 11 years, much longer than the war it portrayed. He appeared in all 256 episodes. Its final episode is among the highest-rated TV episodes of all time. He directed the final episode. He won five Emmy Awards for his work on 27 nominations.
During his M*A*S*H* run, Alda also appeared in a number of television movies. He took 10 years off from television work after his time playing the Army surgeon.

Alda continued acting post-M*A*S*H*. He is known for appearing in five episodes of NBC hits ER and 28 episodes of The West Wing. In 1993, he started hosting Scientific American Frontiers on American Public Television. He hosted 81 episodes over the next 13 years. In 1993, he had an Emmy nomination for the HBO television film And the Band Played On, a critically acclaimed docu-drama on the AIDS epidemic.

Alda had a short but memorable run on five episodes of the NBC megahit ER in 1999 where he played Dr. Gabriel Lawrence. In 2004 he joined the cast of The West Wing. He won the Emmy for Oustanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2006 for his work on the series. In more recent years, he has appeared on shows such as 30 Rock (Emmy nomination), The Big C, The Blacklist (Emmy nomination), The Goodnight, and Ray Donovan.
Alda first appeared on the silver screen in Gone Are the Days! in 1963. He starred in Same Time, Next Year which received some attention in 1978. The Four Seasons was a big hit in 1981. He appeared in Crimes and Misdemeanors in 1989, written and directed by Woody Allen. Manhattan Murder Mystery was a hit with critics but a box office flop in 1993. He had roles in Murder at 1600, What Women Want, Tower Heist, and Bridges of Spies. He received a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for The Aviator in 2004. Most recently, he appeared in Marriage Story in 2019.

Alda has appeared on the Broadway stage since the late 50s. He has three Tony Award nominations. He was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album in 2008. He was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1994. Alda has written three memoirs over the last two decades. He hosts a popular podcast called Clear+Vivid.

Alda is an advocate for science communication. The Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University trains STEM and medical professionals in communication skills. He supports several causes including Feeding America, Clothes Off Our Back, and the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. They founded the Jenjo Foundation in the 90s to help poor women and children

Alda was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2015. He has three children with Arlene Weiss (pictured). They have been married for 67 years. They live on New York’s Long Island

    Hi Judy dy sweet friend.

    Waving

    Want to sleep.

I’ve found a temporary fix on back pain.

Past two days Next to NO up and about activities. Went to store Monday and Tuesday a bit of cooking (MAC and mashed potatoes w/ cheese Garlic herbs)

Spent many hours on back covered deck reading

This carb heavy duo was heavenly for me

Lesson… pain goes with too much “up and about” activity. Even when it’s very little. Find the window of being okay

Later today will be planting my seeds in boxes in back yard by mobile hole. Would love better raised beds but financially the banana boxes will work this year . There will have potatoes tomatoes, beets, green beans

My front deck herbs - mixed flower and sun flower plantings doing well

The back deck hummingbird and seed feeder been busy and fun to watch as I was reading in back deck

    A repeat

    An important one

In a few days, I will air an unfiltered video of the October 7th events. The atrocities are very difficult to watch and so graphic that no social media platform will ever allow me to show this content. That is exactly what the deniers are banking on!

In preparation, there are two ways you can help me:

    1. Please send my telegram channel to everyone you know!

    2. Please be there to watch and then forward the video!

Here is a link to my telegram channel for you to share with others:

Sooooooo soooooooory I couldn’t connect earlier

I’ll try for tomorrow.. after lunch

Terrible connection again and was shocked to get a car insurance letter . With lapse beginning May 20. USPS again FAIL

When I closed my bank account and opened another because a PREDATOR IPSY Reoccurring $60 / mo n no product went on for months w/o way to end. Insurance Secy obviously had incorrectly entered routing numbers n thus a lapse. Same Secretary told me the reinstatement fee was 70+ $$ . I wrote factual update with my messages n Time stamp and it was waived. BUT how much fun was this when phone continually was disconnected and I didn’t want to chance driving to a better cell connection w/o insurance

And why did the lapse letter take 18 days to be delivered from 8 miles away

In reflection I believe my poor connection has in reality not been bad (although frustrating) but God’s gift. With connections good id be on line A LOT. Losing my eyesight due to macular degeneration I’d be really hurting my already aggressive loss of vision.

Cotton - want to call you tomorrow. What time frame after noon is good for you? If not Tuesday - Wednesday?

This is the Superintendent of Denali National Park in Alaska, Brooke Merrell.

She told construction crew working at the park that they can’t fly the American Flag from their trucks or equipment because it “detracts from the park experience.”

Sen Sullivan responded by sending a scathing letter demanding answers.

    Absolutely disgraceful @DenaliNPS
