    ANGELES, Philippines (AP) - Philippine troops found the body Thursday of an American believed to have been killed by gunmen while he hiked with a German friend near the Mount Pinatubo volcano. Police in the northern province of Pampanga spotted Brian Smith's body in a deep ravine, near a waterfall, but rescuers were unable to retrieve it before sundown, said Pampanga Police Chief Ismael Rafanan. He said the body should be recovered Friday.
