Op-Ed: Fostering Fairness in Pennsylvania’s Election Operations Posted on Nov 04, 2021 An Op-Ed by Senator Lisa Baker (R-20) and Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-28) “Elections shall be free and equal.” That’s what Article I, Section 5 of the Pennsylvania Constitution declares. That bedrock of democracy was obviously ignored with the recent discovery that millions of private dollars were directed to only a few of the Commonwealth’s counties for the stated purpose of helping to fund 2020 election operations. A hearing held by the Senate Special Committee on Election Integrity earlier this year initially brought to light that, in addition to...

So taxpayers will pay for breast implants in males, etc., but will the military also provide breast implants for biological female service "persons"? And re-plumbing urinary tracts for female to male transgender folks even though only 40% of such surgeries are without complications. And this is not to mention removing HEALTHY body parts from the gender disphoric, but not paying for glasses or dental route canals for retirees.

I have emailed NEWSMAX about the terrible closed captioning on their programs describing how President Reagan words to Gorbachev were rendered as: "Mr. Gorbachev, SHARE this wall." Yesterday, the ad urging people who had taken Zantac or the generic and developed cancer to call a number, the generic, ranitidine, was rendered as "RAN INTO DEAN." Just now Mike Huckabee was introduced as "MY CARD. MMM-HMM. Would appreciate it if others would complain about this gibberish. Otherwise I think NEWSMAX is terrific. But there are people out here that would like to watch it and are hearing impaired. So could use...

NY has just passed bail reform that allows people accused of felonies - including robbery and assault, right back on the street. NY also passed laws requiring names and phone numbers of witnesses to crimes released to the criminal defense attorney which has already resulted in the murder of a witness. NY has also passed laws requiring prosecutors to turn over all prosecution info to defense within 15 days, making it impossible to prosecute some defendants so the alleged criminals can just walk away. We live near the NY border - a very long state border with lawless NY. Is...

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. -- An area veteran is tossing his hat into the political ring, announcing he is running for Congress. Staff Sgt. Earl Granville posted a video on his website Thursday morning explaining why he is running as a Republican for Congress in the 8th District against incumbent Democrat Matt Cartwright. The 8th Congressional District covers much of northeastern Pennsylvania. Granville joined the Pennsylvania National Guard in 2001 and went on to serve tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He was severely injured in an attack in Afghanistan and lost his leg.

Article estimates from 2016: " EIA estimates that natural gas production from hydraulically fractured wells now makes up about two-thirds of total U.S. marketed gas production. This share of production is even greater than the share of crude oil produced using that method, where hydraulic fracturing accounts for about half of current U.S. crude oil production."

"The brutal cold gripping Minnesota made itself felt in tens of thousands of living rooms Wednesday as Xcel Energy resorted to asking customers to turn their thermostats down to 63 degrees to conserve natural gas. The request to Xcel’s more than 400,000 customers came as the utility strained in the sub-zero temperatures to keep up with heating demand. And a few Minnesotans dealt with the nightmare of having no heat at all. About 150 homes in the Princeton area, about an hour north of Minneapolis, lost natural gas service about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. In response, Xcel asked about 12,000 customers...

The automaker has not announced when work would resume but Consumers Energy is asking Michiganers to cut back on the natural gas use until at least the end of the workweek."

If there were ever a time to increase the gas tax it would be NOW! A tax bill is in the works. The Democrats want it "paid for." Oil price is way down and not likelihood of an increase soon. High tech improvements to oil discovery and production have drastically reduced oil prices. I am happy to pay more for a gas tax that would improve road and bridge infrastructure. PA increased the gas tax and nobody fussed much. A federal gas tax hike is long overdue and Democrats would vote for it!

Here is the 9th Circuit Appeals Court decision on the Hammond case. It cites the law under which they were sentenced. It also details the "arsons" which include damage of one acre by fire of BLM land in two occasions plus the escape of the fire that burned the 139 acres. http://cdn.ca9.uscourts.gov/datastore/opinions/2014/02/07/12-30337.pdf Section 844(f) which they were sentenced under was amended on April 24, 1996, by the Antiterrorism Act of 1996, to exclude Federal jurisdiction for offenses against institutions or organizations receiving Federal assistance. Additionally, the subsection was subdivided and a system of tiered penalties created according to the type...

News reports say that 70% of the "refugees" are military age men. News reports also say 4 out of 5 are not from Syria. Further news reports say some are wearing crosses so people will think they are Christians. We did not take in the Yasidis when they were being murdered and their women sold into slavery. We did not offer a refuge to the Christians being murdered in many places in the Middle East. It does not make sense to offer homes to economic "refugees" who could easily be ISIS members. I am totally opposed to this. Turkey, the...

The ram had a long tail and long hair from its chin to its chest. No Big Horn I have seen in films or photos has either of those features.

July 13, 2012 Dear Ms. ****, Thank you for contacting me about Senate ratification of the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). I appreciate hearing from you. As you may know, UNCLOS is the international agreement that resulted from the third U.N. Conference on the Law of the Sea (1973-1982). The treaty would establish territorial sea limits, navigational rights, rules to govern commercial and military use of the sea, and a system for settling disputes between nations. It would also include environmental provisions. I share your concerns about the possible impact of this proposed treaty and oppose...

In answer to a question on p. 98 in the current issue of the PA Township News: "The health care reform law requires all insurance plans that include dependent coverage to extend those benefits to all children up to age 26. Therefore, if the township offers dependent coverage to its employees and the child is 26 or younger, he is entitled to the benefits regardless of his marital status or student status. In addition, an adult child qualifies for coverage even if he doesn't live with the covered parent, is not considered a dependent by the IRS, and is not...
