9/11 is probably one of the hardest topics to write about because so many emotions arise: sadness for the loss of so many innocent lives; anger, because someone dared to attack the United States of America; and pride because of the strength and patriotism Americans showed during such a tragic moment in our history. We all can remember where we were ten years ago today. I was just six years old and seeing America under attack forever changed me, my convictions, my feelings towards America. I'm never going to forget that day. 10 years later, there's still a scar in...

*snip* "What some might call it a 'deal' or 'compromise' I would call capitulation to the Republicans," Burton wrote in an e-mail to supporters. "Just as we do not negotiate with international terrorists, we must stand up to the political terrorism of the Republicans in the United States Senate," Burton wrote." *snip*

…Until Her Veil Was Put Back Over Her Face A Saudi man could not identify his wife after a fatal car accident without her veil on. He’d never seen her face. Emirates 24 reported, via Jihad Watch: After nearly 10 years of marriage that produced five children, Mufleh Mohammed of Saudi Arabia still has not seen his wife’s face. Mohammed Hilal, another Saudi husband, could not identify his wife who was killed in a road crash until her veil was put back on her face. Mufleh and Mohammed are among many Saudi men who have never seen the face of...

The sale of Coca-Cola is now outlawed at San Francisco City Hall. That means if you need to wash down that tofu turkey dog, you’ll need to order a bottle of soy milk. Mayor Gavin Newsome has issued an executive order banning Coke, Pepsi and Fanta Orange from vending machines on city property. The directive also includes non-diet sodas, sports drinks and artificially sweetened water. That means you can no longer “Do the Dew” at City Hall. Dr. Pepper? Not welcome and neither is Mr. Pibb. Even fruit juices have come under the mayor’s scrutiny. Juices must be made from...

*snip*The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Nevada shows Angle earning 48% support, while Reid, the state’s longtime Democratic senator, picks up 41% of the vote. Eight percent (8%) like some other candidate in the race, while just two percent (2%) are undecided.

It's one thing for media liberals to suggest the Tea Party is on the fringe of the right, but when it's another when they starting putting Ronald Reagan in the center by comparison (even as Governor of California). On The Rachel Maddow Show on Tuesday, Matthews suggested that somehow America is reliably centrist, so even Reagan moved to moderation (and there's no mention of Obama's left-wing surge): But the American people have sort of a gyroscope, something that always brings them back to center, where it very much -- and nobody wants to hear this on the right, but we're...

For the second week in a row, 58% of Likely U.S. Voters favor repeal of the national health care plan adopted into law by Congress in late March. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds 36% oppose repeal. These findings include 47% who Strongly Favor repeal and 28% who are Strongly Opposed. Rasmussen Reports has been tracking sentiments about repeal since the plan’s passage, and opposition to the legislation remains as strong since its adoption as it was beforehand. Early this morning a source of mine allowed me to take a sneak peek into the President's address to the nation from the Oval Office. The following are some lines from the prepared speech, and my commentary: Let me be clear: I can handle a crisis. O.K. Maybe he can handle a crisis. Hussein Obama doesn't look stressed... at all. And how could he look stressed when he hits the golf course as often as he can! In my opinion, that line refers to him being calmed in the center of his Katrina. I'm O.K. with sipping with a straw...

It’s not mentioned much now, but in the late summer of 2008, a major hurricane, Gustav, was in the Gulf of Mexico and headed toward New Orleans, threatening a replay of the disastrous Katrina experience. On September 1, 2008, Barack Obama, fresh from his Roman-colonnade speech on the final night of the Democratic convention in Denver, talked to CNN’s Anderson Cooper about Gustav and the Gulf. The question: As president, could he handle an emergency like that? Obama pointed to the size of his campaign and its multi-million dollar budget as evidence of his executive abilities. “Our ability to manage...

Full text of the song: There comes a time When we need to make a show For the world, the Web and CNN There's no people dying, so the best that we can do Is create the greatest bluff of all We must go on pretending day by day That in Gaza, there's crisis, hunger and plague Coz the billion bucks in aid won't buy their basic needs Like some cheese and missiles for the kids We'll make the world Abandon reason We'll make them all believe that the Hamas Is Momma Theresa We are peaceful travelers With guns and...

What with the Fort Hood mass murderer, the Christmas Pantybomber, and now the Times Square bomber, you may have noticed a little uptick in attempted terrorist attacks on the U.S. mainland in the last few months. Rep. Lamar Smith did, and, at the House Judiciary Committee, he was interested to see if the attorney general of the United States thought there might be any factor in common between these perplexingly diverse incidents. “In the case of all three attempts in the last year, the terrorist attempts, one of which was successful, those individuals have had ties to radical Islam,” said...

(To view the pictures this article featured click here)"How can anybody call this choice?" That is the question that comes to my mind when I see a picture like this one: As a Christian, I believe life begins at the moment of conception. I really wish Roe v. Wade were overturned. I know there are alternatives to abortion. And I also know there's a lot of propaganda out there. Many people believe that if abortion were illegal, many women would die. Pro abortion people will even show you some nicely designed graphics, arguing that the number of abortion-related deaths have...

DAVID Cameron could be heading towards a historic victory in today's General Election - and the keys to No 10, a poll for The Sun dramatically predicted last night. The special YouGov survey - Britain's biggest eve-of-election poll - showed the Tory leader was poised to make sweeping gains from Labour across the country. His party looked set to expect a dramatic breakthrough in dozens of key marginal seats - snatching around 100 from Labour. The poll put the Conservatives on 35 per cent, seven points ahead of Labour and the Liberal Democrats who were both stuck on 28 per...

When news comes of Muslims engaging in violence, politicians, law enforcement, and the media invariably presume that the perpetrator suffers from some mental or emotional incapacity. (For a quick listing of examples, see my collection at “Sudden Jihad or ‘Inordinate Stress’ at Ft. Hood?”) Instead, they should begin with a presumption of jihadi intent. That is, the default expectation should be ideological passion, not insanity. Spreading Islam and applying Islamic law are the goals. Of course, some insane Muslims exist and they do engage in violence, but they constitute a microscopic percentage of the 15,247 Muslim terrorist incidents since 9/11,...

On ABC’s The View on Tuesday, as the group discussed a new law in Oklahoma that requires an ultrasound of an unborn baby be performed and the image offered to a pregnant woman before an abortion could take place, none of the panel members spoke up in favor the Oklahoma law, although right-leaning Elisabeth Hasselbeck supported "nudging" pregnant women to look at an ultrasound to be informed about the life signs of their unborn babies. Whoopi Goldberg became emotional as she dismissed the effectiveness of viewing an ultrasound in encouraging women not to have abortions, and seemed to worry that...
