A Blog For People Who Love America ^

Posted on 05/02/2010 5:05:04 PM PDT by florm15

"You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift."

"You cannot help small men by tearing down big men."

"You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong."

"You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer."

"You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich."

“You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.”

"You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred."

"You cannot establish security on borrowed money."

"You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence."

"You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves."

I don’t think the Dimcrats cared much for Lincolns philosophy. Not like they say anyways.

You forgot Lincolns hallmark "You do not get a trial when locked up for sedition, even if there was never any basis for the charge and even if the accuser is a long time contentious rival"

Let's give the man credit for ALL of the standards of government that characterized his administration.

Lincoln is NOT the author of these.

Even Snopes has the facts on this.

. . . . . and those are the ones you want to concentrate on. (Did George W. Bush really say that?)

Abraham Lincoln said just about everything!

“I have no disposition to introduce political and social equality between the white and black races. There is a physical difference between the two, which in my judgment will probably forever forbid their living together on terms of respect, social and political equality, and inasmuch as it becomes a necessity that there should be a superiority somewhere, I, as well as Judge Douglas, am in favor of the race to which I belong having the superior position;”
Abraham Lincoln

“I will say then, that I am not nor have ever been in favor of bringing about in any way, the social and political equality of the white and black races, that I am not, nor have I ever been in favor of making voters of the negroes, or jurors, or qualifying them to hold office, or having them to marry with white people...there must be the position of superior and inferior, that I as much as any other man am in favor of the superior position being assigned to the white man.”
Abraham Lincoln

Well, that was excellent, too. (How’ve you been?)
I wonder how many Imprimus readers would like to join this
thread...”free” publication from a so-called Christian college
named Hillsdale, regularly pimped by Rush, Hannity and Levin.

IIRC, in either December’s issue or October’s issue, there’s this really long article in which the 2 dumba** authors try to remake Lincoln’s image and his ‘contribution’ to our nation.
It’s quite funny, actually. So if anyone needs a laugh, you’ll find it there.

Freedom didn't care for Lincolns "philosophy"! Do you not understand the great harm he did? Don't think Dishonest Abe was Conservative.....
