It is, perhaps, fitting that it was on this day, June 18 in 1815, that Napoleon met his Waterloo. For, 195 year later, to the day, it seems that Barack Hussein Obama (Milhous to those who know him), is meeting his own Waterloo, this time in the actual water of the Gulf of Mexico. Obama's stimulus is turning into a jobs prophylaxis. As noted in an (earlier post, the (legal or counted) Hispanic workforce population has been growing at annual rate of 3.3% from 2001 through 2008, 4.3% if you include the year 2000. However, between August 2008 and August 2009 the rate of increase in the Hispanic population was only 0.63%. Therefore, if the American workforce had been growing as usual, the number of Hispanics in the workforce would have been some 727,000 higher than it is now. The national unemployment rate as reported Friday stands at 9.7%, about 15 million people or is it? In August, the total civilian workforce as calculated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) was estimated to be 154.6 million. However, that is down 0.16% from 154.8 million in August 2008. The decline of approximately 256,000 (rounding error) is highly unusual since the workforce population is ever increasing thanks to immigration and other factors (graduation, divorce or other catastrophe (e.g., Bernie Maddoff)). Tegucigalpa -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has granted $150 million to Honduras, ignoring the international community's calls to increase sanctions against the regime currently usurping power in that country. $150 million happens to be almost precisely the amount that Hillary Clinton and the U.S. State Department has been threatening to withhold, according to Reuters. In case you missed it, Mark Steyn delivered a brilliant monologue at the beginning of the second hour of the Rush Limbaugh Show today (he was subbing while Rush is on vacation). Tegucigalpa, Honduras, July 22, 2009 (exact translation from El Heraldo) Hundreds of Hondurans took to the streets in a march called by organizers: "The Great March of Patriotism and Courage," began at 10:00 am in Tegucigalpa. (Demonstrators sought to) support the government of (President) Roberto Micheletti Baín and rejecting the return of Manuel Zelaya Rosales, the deposed president.

According to a survey published on the July 15, almost 70% of the Honduran people said they do not wish for Jose Manuel Zelaya to return to Honduras. Because it will lead to civil war. Only 30% of those surveyed believe Zelaya should return because he was democratically elected. 2% had no opinion. (more after the jump)
