  • Lieberman: Some Bloggers Bigoted, No Dem Can Dissuade Him From Indie Run

From a GOP perspective, this is great news. The Lefties in CT have shot themselves in the foot -electing yet another rich Liberal. Lieberman is now the Underdog.

The smart thing to do, politically, is to continue to publicly support the GOP candidate in the General Election in November. Privately, CT Republicans should be donating to Lieberman's campaign. Open endorsement of Lieberman by the GOP won't help him win.

We need to maintain the support for our Foreign Policy in the Senate and Lieberman, while an un-apologetic social Liberal, is a Hawk on Foreign Policy and we need him (be he a Democrat or "Independent").

His running as an Independent will also force the Clinton's and Reid's and Dodd's into an uncomfortable position: opposing their "friend" thereby making them look intolerant of differing opinions within their party. This should be exploited at every turn by the GOP.

    Basically it's a win-win for the Republicans.

As a Conservative, however, its a lose-lose. Lamont or Lieberman will win, each is a BIG GOVERNMENT Hawk which is not good for the long-term. Conservatives need to be more pro-active in Liberal states like CT, spend some money there and take advantage of the split between the liberals to highlight the weaknesses of their philosophy.

Conservatives fair best when we are on the offensive.

"I have found a certain type calls himself a Liberal...Now I always thought I was a Liberal. I came up terribly surprised one time when I found out that I was a Right-Wing Conservative Extremist, when I listened to everybody's point of view that I ever met, and then decided how I should feel. But this so-called new Liberal group, Jesus, they never listen to your point of view..." -John Wayne

I am one such Kentucky voter and I agree.

We have too many RINO's in the Senate, we don't need McConnell to go over to the dark side as well.

It's pretty sad when a fictional comic book reporter is willing to take up for our Military and the "real thing" just won't.

That's a great scan. Nice to see some vintage Superman.

    Saw this on Drudge.

Like a dog marking its territory, such is the paranoia of the Left that they feel the need to take a beloved AMERICAN icon and revoke his citizenship in order to make themselves feel better by bolstering their credibilty as "Global Citizens."

Superman is saving "humanity" now and can take his place amongst the other great "Progressive" Comic Book Heroes: Castro, Mao, and Stalin.

Singer is a talented director, however his contempt for America was made clear in the first two X-Men movies. His message is clear: Humanity must be saved from itself. Typically, those of us mere mortals can't be trusted to do this job. We need "progressives" with mutations or an extraterrestrial lineage to save us (hence the nomination of Al-Gore and John Kerry).

Sadly, while he wishes for a "Superman" to save him from George W Bush's America, the rest of us (in reality) can only continue to honor the memory and legacy of the true Supermen who protect our Liberty daily in Iraq and elsewhere. These are the true Heroes.

He is just SO FUNNY that Al Gore. I mean, he should really consider doing a comedy. Oh wait, sorry I forgot.

    He just did one.

I think the on-air flatulence spewed that night in Hollywood probably killed more Trees than a 1985 Chevy Suburban.

    Generation Reagan. Yes.

I agree...the Boomers are causing most of the problems (not just in Congress but elsewhere in the Country -Politically and Policy-wise).

We need some fresh blood (fresh ideas) in the House and Senate.

Senator Byrd will be venerated for his long years of service. YAWN. Forty-seven years of public service means the last time the man had to actually make a living in the Private Sector was during Eisenhower's Administration. He's been on Government Welfare for FORTY SEVEN YEARS!!! Not exactly something to be proud of, in my opinion.

But I guess for a liberal, that is quite an accomplishment.

For being supposedly the "Smartest Woman In The World," Hillary's dumb a** just sold about a million more copies of "Godless" for Chairman Ann.

This is great for Miss Coulter, I am happy for her and I share the sentiment that hopes Mrs. Clinton continues talking about this. Open mouth...insert foot.

Yes, don't you know by now? Democrats ALWAYS win, even when they lose. No matter the facts, the outcome, they are WINNERS. Meanwhile....back in REALITY...

Unfortunately we will be seeing more of these ridiculous headlines...

I share your hope, however being that Mr. Iger was part of the Eisner Regime I don't have high hopes of that happening. I think its also a sad testament to the Company that in order to breathe life into their Animation Division, they had to acquire an outside company. I am impressed with the Pixar folks and I hope they continue to make quality films like "The Incredibles" and "Finding Nemo."

Not sure how many Walt Disney afficianados there are on Free Republic -but seeing as this is my first post I thought I would post a story about a company founded by one of the most culturally influencial Conservatives of the 20th Century. Mr. Disney and his company helped reinforce the optimism and unlimited potential of America, while creating entertainment that was quality-driven and audience-centric.

This article is interesting to me in that the most significant achievements listed were those accomplished while Mr. Disney was still living. Since that time, unfortunately, the company has been slowly consumed by Labor Unions, Politically-Correct values and has -in my humble opinion- squandered the good work that was accomplished by Mr. Disney, his brother Roy and his devoted employees.

I find it interesting that the Disney Institute travels to other businesses espousing their "formula for success" when, after acknowledging the demoralizing leadership of Michael Eisner, they have yet to show any real signs of breaking away from his philosophy.

Mr. Disney was an innovator --not just in movies and tv-- but in engineering, architecture and technology. He spent his final years working on ways to solve the problems created by over-crowded cities like alternative forms of transportation, energy and housing -issues we still face today.

Sadly, his company has become just another symbol on Wall Street when it was so much more to the millions of people he inspired and still inspires.

In an age when Oil Companies apologize for refining and selling Oil, Tobacco Companies advertise how not to use their products, and American Car Manufacturers struggle to gain a share of the market, it is refreshing to take a look back to the Disney-Age when American Innovation in all fields was not only celebrated but encouraged.
