  • A national retail sales tax? GREAT IDEA!

you guys don't understand. The "rebate" is just a payment that goes out to everyone regardless of income. So the Kerry's will be getting it too. Sure sounds horrible that everyone will be getting a check but if you do the math it works out well.

Under the current system tax cheats pay no tax, under the fair tax everyone pays. This will help with illegal immigration. Under the current system income is often taxed multiple times. The fair tax would eliminate the IRS and replace it with I don't know, maybe 20 people? There really aren't any downsides.

  • Why no Licenses for Illegals?

What I don't understand is why illegals have a special exemption from our foreign policy. They are not citizens, nor are they guests (part of being a guest is that you are welcomed in). They are no different from spies in a legal sense. So they should be dealt with by the State Department and Department of Defense.

They ought to have the army round them up and put them all on a train to Mexico (or wheverever they are from). Then after that initial grace period any illegal found is branded and sent home. Then after that they should be shot on sight and bounties paid. Some would think that this is so cruel and blah blah blah we shouldn't shoot them, but in reality none would get shot and few would be branded. They would know better than to mess with the US.

Then we could pay the expenses, maybe even throw in a 10k bonus to any liberal willing to leave the US and renounce citizenship. This could be paid entirely from donations I bet. Ahh what a world it would be.... no crime, minimal taxes.

  • Jury to Begin Deliberations in Bear Shooting Trial

There is nothing wrong with killing a bear on your property. Some people would want to kill the bear, some wouldn't. That's how it is in America. However no one should force another to have to endure an unwanted bear. The government official just assumes that this man should have to give up the use of his backyard. What if his kids wanted to relax in the backyard with some grilled meat? I suspect that the bear would have given them trouble. So he is well within his rights to shoot the bear so that he can continue to enjoy his property.

I thought vegans were supposedly against milk because they didn't want to impose on the cows. What is her argument about feeding the baby her own milk?

Also why is she allowed to visit her children? Shouldn't they be adopted by now ? I mean they didn't feed them and have no intent to feed them in the future. Now I am all for parental rights (the government almost stole my nephews!) but these people are deliberately killing their children. Oh wait, I forgot, the DSS only goes after decent people.

Of course, if 4 Kerry electors vote 2 each for two random Democrats, this won't work, Kerry and the 2 random Democrats will get voted on by the House instead. If this happens, and Bush gets assassinated between the electors voting and their votes being read, I don't want to think about what will happen. That would never happen. If there is an assassination plot I don't think that the electors would be in on it. If for some insane reason they did attempt this plan it would be sufficient evidence of treason. What would probably happen would be that the House, Senate, and Supreme Court would probably all agree to ignore the Constitution (as if they don't every day) and just make Cheney president. If the Democrats spoke up with one word of complaint they would be shot, possibly starting CW2. I wonder how a Civil War would be conducted in the modern US. Because we essentially have a democracy just getting the enemy to submit doesn't work. After the fighting died down we'd just get more elections, possibly with results contrary to the force that just won. So I think there would be an effort to get voter registration rolls and there would be a bloodbath.

I don't see why this is far-fetched at all. As someone above said, it is just a numbers game. Out of all the people in the US there are plenty who hate Bush. Out of those who hate him, there are those who want him assinated. Out of those there are those who would do it, and out of those there are those who can do it. Actually I find it pretty amazing that there aren't multiple assassination attempts on every president.

You can't be serious. Government involvement makes things worse. That is just a fundmental truth. Sometimes we study an issue and it seems that the goverment can actually make things better. We can't see any down side. Now I ask, is that because the government would actually make things better or is it because we are fallible and can't figure out what the plan's downsides are?

Ok look at it this way. You are playing poker and you have 4 of a kind. You think that your opponent has a royal flush. Do you fold? No. Why? Because the chance of him actually having a royal flush is so low. You are more likely to read him wrong (no matter how good you are) than he is to have the hand.

Ok now for some actual things:

"All the families will receive moving expenses, and the fair market value for their property"

How can they possibly be getting fair value? If the value were fair they would take the money willingly. The fact that government coercion is required indicates that they are not being paid fairly. Where do these moving expenses come from? Where do they end up moving to? What happens when the government in their new town decides that they are undesirable and decides to ship them out?

You were shocked? I am shocked at that. Liberals are nothing more than nihilists. They realize that the only way for everyone to be equal is if everyone is dead. They resent everything positive in the world. Liberals hate the term "evil" because they know that it is the true description of them. Conservative/Liberal are meaningless terms that just cover up the true nature of the conflict: good vs evil. Good always wins in the end so keep up the fight.

yeah, sounds like typical spin but it just makes sense. The attitudes and behavior of people around here are so horrible. I have lived here most of my life so I don't notice it as much anymore but there really is a strong bias against people from conservative areas. I'm originally from CA so I don't experience it (no accent) but the liberals really are savage. Remember this is Keneddy and Kerry land. In most states Dems gerrymander so that all of the republicans are in one district. In MA they gerrymandered the state so that we are split and they can have all 10 districts safe. I live much closer to Rhode Island than to Boston yet my district includes a slice of Boston.

I am not trying to claim that the Civil War had little to do with slavery. I have no sympathy for the slaveholders. I'm just saying that in MA there really has always been a leftist tilt, even when they voted Republican. They were the original RINOs.

"You deserve it after telling them your name was Cahalan. Obvious alias."

You have no idea how many times I am called Callahan. Something like 95%. Spellcheckers offer to "fix" it for me. Now I'm wondering what to do when the Drill Sergents get it wrong when I ship off to basic in two weeks. I doubt they like being corrected.

Can you believe this brush off? I think that we need to go after these advertisers, but I doubt we are all going after all of them. For example I only went after the ones that I use. What if we concentrated and hit just a couple? For example we could all go after Home Depot and maybe get them to pull their ads.

It all goes back to the Puritans. They knew what was best for everyone. They were the first leftists in America. Rhode Island was founded by a man that they chased out of Massachussettes. During the Civil War new englanders were antislavery not because of some love of human rights, but because they "knew better" than a bunch of hicks from the south.

Everyone around here is liberal. Once you get enough liberals in an area conservatives are silenced. Then everyone grows up thinking that the liberal way is the only way. The universities and unions might be part of the problem but it runs much, much deeper. I live in a semi-rural area where people are well off. Liberals everywhere. The snobbish attitude pervades everything. People from other parts of the country are looked down on, and europeans are considered superior (instead of the remnants of a degenerate society).

As for NH and VT, it is all about the waves of liberals from MA. My sister-in-law just moved across the border to NH. She's one of the Anybody but Bush crowd. Actually the universities brought her here.
