The Ukrainian military's Group 13 unit claims to have sunk another Russian landing ship, adding to a growing tally of losses for the Black Sea Fleet. On Wednesday morning, the group released a video appearing to show its suicide drone boats approaching a vessel near shore. The ship - identified by Group 13 as the Caesar Kunikov - has the distinctive open foredeck and tall deckhouse of a Ropucha-class landing vessel. In succession, multiple drones appeared to approach the vessel's hull and detonate, with the explosions captured on camera by subsequent inbound drone boats. The video ends with the vessel...

In Short: Harvard's failure to unequivocally condemn the terrorist group signals a broader moral crisis in elite American universities. But this could also be the opportunity to make bold decisions to prevent their total descent into irrelevance. (...)We are in a moment of reckoning. If American universities lack the ability to oppose terrorism, how can they fulfill their mission as the epicenter of democracy? Hamas’ horrific acts must be a breaking point, separating actual progressive ideas from the lies masquerading as radical leftism. Journalist Alexander Nazaryan described it precisely: “The reason you’re seeing paralysis from so many elite figures and...

Stunned to hear the historical re-write from CNN's Clarissa Ward, on CNN with Erin Burnett. Clarissa Ward just referred to, quote: "...in nineteen forty eight, what they, (the Palestinians,) call The Naqba, when seven hundred thousand Palestinians were forced to leave their homes."

“One day in January, I caught myself mumbling the ‘Ooga Chaka’ chant from Blue Swede’s ‘Hooked on a Feeling” in rhythm with the Beatles’ “Birthday,” and marveled at how well they fit together. I tried it with other songs and realized I could have some on-air fun with it.” Al, who goes by Alan Darsen on air, frequently devotes time on his show to novelty holidays like National Buy a Cupcake Day. “I decided it was time to invent a holiday of our own. So I edited together nine entire songs with the chant, declared January 23 as National Ooga...

Recent predictions have turned out wrong. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center said 2022 would be a whopper, "predicting above-average hurricane activity [this] year – which would make it the seventh consecutive above-average hurricane season." It wasn’t. In fact, in terms of combined frequency, intensity, and duration, 2022 represented a noteworthy "low mark" in the past 42 years of all hurricane occurrences on the planet. Talk of seven "above-average" seasons was the real whopper. The eleven years from 2006-2017 show an unprecedented period in which no major hurricane made continental landfall, and yet the "average" data set was selected to comprise these...

As aggressive excavation and submarine construction of over 1,500 offshore wind-farm turbines continues along the east coast of the United States, whales are likewise stranding, beaching and dying at an alarming and perplexing rate. Almost 200 whales have been found dead since 2016, when the wind-turbine rush began, representing a fourfold annual increase over past years. Seven dead whales have been discovered in New Jersey and New York in the past two months. In southeastern Virginia, in one recent week alone, three whales were found dead, just miles from two operational wind farms. Dying species include humpback whales and the...

A Japan Coast Guard vessel is reportedly taking on water and leaking oil after grounding in rough weather while on a routine patrol on January 18. The vessel is stranded and awaiting a salvage crew but in no danger of sinking. The 3,100 gross ton Echigo, built by Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding and commissioned in 1990, was operating in central Japan on Wednesday morning. Strong winds of 25 mph were blowing with heavy surf when the vessel approached a lighthouse near Kashiwazaki along the Sea of Japan. (...)

Today I learn of a 10-year old boy who simply "suddenly died." I need to gather more information. Please, FRiends, let this thread be a repository for stories, the likes of which I heard today, that simply make no sense. Please post links or anything you think of. Let's try to keep it efficient. Let's let this be a useful repository of information We all know what is going on here, but nobody is yet covering it. We can be the vanguard as we have been. Could you help by remembering certain stories over the past months and years, suggesting...

"Taking this step means we are creating more inclusive spaces where racialized girls in Canada can feel welcome and proud to belong in Girl Guides. With this change, we hope even more girls will see Guiding as a space where they can just be themselves..."

Biden talks about his successes and how he will "give workers raises" by "making corporations pay their fair share." My transcription. (golux.) "...When you look at the economy today it's clear we've made enormous strides. (...) As I travel across the country today I can see, it's clear, we've gone from being on the mend to on the move. (...) The first cause of inflation is the pandemic. (...) The second cause is Mr. Putin's war in Ukraine. (...) Putin's war has raised food prices. (...) Because of the actions we've taken we're in the strongest position to face this...

BREAKING - MSM Violence came to the Academy Awards last night, shocking Hollywood and the world. Popular comedian Chris Rock, host of the event, was mercilessly cut down in an unprovoked act of racist violence by Paul Reubens AKA Pee-Wee Herman, who gestured violently at Mr. Rock with his index finger, pleading with him with clearly supremacist condescension to "please be nice." “It was disgusting - the worst thing I could have imagined,” said internationally recognized political commentator and renowned intellectual pundit Whoopi Goldberg, winner of the Maya Angelou "I represent the bird in the cage, get it?" Prize for...

1. Why were millions of dollars given directly by a Ukranian energy interest to the Biden family? 2. How will sanctions against Russia and in particular the shutting down of non-Ukranian energy supplies to Ukraine and Europe affect supply and prices? 3. Who will suffer, and who will benefit, from war and sanctions?

Can you imagine the blissful orgy of intellectualism that would have accompanied the meeting – for the first time – of the most philosophical peoples the world had ever known, namely, the Jews and the Greeks? Talmudic study meets the schools of Aristotle and Socrates? Kabbalah meets Pythagoras and Euclid? The synthesis of these two cultures should at least have catalyzed a few millennia of wildly inventive literature, mathematics and science. That's not how it turned out, though. Instead of welcoming the Greeks, as almost all others under Hellenic occupation were pleased to do, the Jews were violently defiant. Why?...

Speaking to a 13-year-old named Andrew Adams who wanted to go into space: “You could do with losing a little bit of weight.” While chatting to a young fashion designer at Buckingham Palace, 2009: “Well, you didn’t design your beard too well, did you? You really must try better with your beard.” To businessman Atul Patel at a Palace reception for British Indians, 2009: “There’s a lot of your family in tonight.” After being told that then-President Barack Obama had just met with the British, Chinese and Russian leaders: “Can you tell the difference between them?” Reflecting on his role...

The Proud Boys is a far-right organization identified by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a hate group and classified by the FBI as having white nationalist ties. The group has a history of violence, including during recent rallies in Portland, Ore., and D.C. Enrique Tarrio, the chairman of the organization, told DCist/WAMU he was responsible for destroying the banner. His comments echo claims he made in a post on the social media site Parler, which is popular among fringe groups and on an episode of War Boys, a podcast affiliated with the Proud Boys, that aired Thursday...

LISTED AS BREAKING NEWS ON FORBES Trump and his allies have spent years raising corruption allegations about the Bidens. They claim — without evidence — that Joe Biden used his influence to strongarm the Ukrainian government into dropping an investigation into Hunter Biden’s employer. This theory misrepresents key details about Joe Biden’s actions in Ukraine, and it arose when Trump faced allegations that he pressured the Ukrainian government to dig up information on Biden — an issue for which he was later impeached. A Senate Republican investigation into Trump-touted corruption allegations against the Bidens’ involvement in Ukraine came up empty,...
