Seems like a good time, on this INTL Day of TomFoolAssery, to check those mags that have been loaded for a good long while...5 years. Empty them, clean and a lightlube and reload. Anything else?? Good for another 5 years. Carry On. G

Cubs are in Tampa in June and Miami in August. Does anyone have information on the hotels/resorts where most of the fans stay? We have done spring training in Scottsdale/Mesa and love staying a place next to Old Scottsdale and foods and beverages within walking and crawling distance. With the balanced schedule we are now trying to follow more road games. Please advise. GRRRR🇺🇸🇺🇸😘🌭⚾️

Sometimes what happens in Vegas needs to be shared with the ones we love. Some of you may remember that my wife passed away in June of 2009. Since then, life has continued and blessed me with finding love again. After being together for almost ten years now, Jean and I were married in Las Vegas on the 20th of February. I am such a lucky man and honored to have such a wonderful woman as my best friend and wife. To other widowers out there in FR...don't ever stop looking for a companion and friend to be with. You...

The two golf greats will meet Friday afternoon, with the broadcast starting at 2 p.m. EST. It is being shown on DirecTV and AT&T U-Verse and other cable and satellite outlets for $19.95. It can also be streamed on Turner’s B/R Live. The broadcast will feature both golfers mic'd up as well as microphones placed on their caddies (Joe LaCava for Woods and Tim Mickelson for his older brother). With the showdown on pay-per-view, there will be no commercial breaks and plenty of opportunities to hear both golfers try to one-up each other with (gentlemanly) trash talk and verbal jabs.

My Lady Jean and have a nice little ranch near Denver. On our tender little 35 acres, we have ten alpacas. They belong to the Camelid family, llamas, vicuña and the true humpty humpers. They're cute too, so Lady Jean is happy. We're expecting a baby "cria" in May. Our first breeding try. We have all females except one old gelded male, Andy. You don't keep the boys and girls together as the boys will go through a fence if he gets the right wink! We have two years of fleece, they get shorn once a year and yield around...

This is nuts. After 51 years of Cub Fandom, we're in the Series. Schwarber makes the lineup as DH, what a fine credit to the Cubs Mgmt team to have him with the team during rehab all summer. Lester starts tonight, still can't throw to first, or second for that matter. All other factors being equal, which they aren't really, Cubs pitching will win this series for Chicago.

Why do I Enjoy Firearms? The South Carolina Chapter held a raffle. I never win raffles, however, I still contributed to the cause. I won a Rem 700 n .270. Yeah, no kidding. Upon returning home, I completed a transfer request per IL law. A week later I was at a range all by myself with a cardboard box. I asked for help and instruction and spent the rest of the day shooting. Over the next few months I spent every Sat AM out there. I took additional classes from a great family team consisting of an ex Chicago cop...

Is this 3D printer worth it? Seems like a good entry level, home hobbiest and tinkering tool. Anyone have one already and can you tell us about your learning curve? G

Here we go with another freak out about a winter storm. From naming it like a hurricane to generate more angst, to the continuing reminders that it "COULD" be a top ten storm in all time history, the weather guessers are doing the hype dance. Granted, this one looks particularly nasty, but most sane people will grab some extra milk and get home early Friday before the main bands hit. Take cover NE FReepers and keep us updated on how it's coming along. Post lots of pics from your yards and neighborhoods so we can all OOOOH and AHHHH...

It is summer for sure. Colorado is experiencing 90-100 degree F days in the north east plains. Forest fires, high winds and dust complicate the time we can have the windows open as even at 80Deg in the house, the low humidity makes it comfy. The Carrier AC unit for this house (3,500+sq ft, 4BR, high ceilings) has had issues since I moved in. Refrigerant leaks and an electrical issue. Now, with the heat of the summer coming back, the AC unit can't keep up again. I've cleaned the unit outside, replaced the inside filter and am still getting some...

I've thought about this proposal on and off for some years, however, on this particular Veterans Day I'm throwing out for public discussion. My next step could be to send it to my state Senators et al. If you serve in the military and remain state side then you would NOT PAY any Federal Income Taxes for five years after your discharge. If you serve in a foreign country, then you pay no Federal Income taxes for ten years after your discharge. If you serve in a war zone and are injured you pay no Federal Income taxes for the...
