From the live coverage in the daily Telegraph:

‘A gang of vandals broke the windows of an Islamic bank in Whitechapel but were chased off by a rival gang of 100 Muslim youths who are standing guard outside the East London Mosque. Local shops have been attacked’

Whereabouts in the United Kingdom do you currently reside? The Isle of Skye? I am originally from Luton, Bedfordshire, and return there regularly. The centre of the town may as well be ceded to Pakistan. An iconic Church in the centre of town (Once Christian-dominated, now Islamic) was demolished years ago. A Methodist Church in the area is regularly vandalised. Anti-English graffiti is regularly found on walls. Almost every restaurant in Town serves Halal meat, and only Halal meat.

Last year Muslims demonstrated against a troop-march in the town, and a fight broke out with Local attendees of the march. Guess which group suffered the most arrests? ‘White youths’ of course, who were also blamed for the incident by the Media, with the Muslim ‘protesters (who were abusing the troops) getting Police protection. Contrast with the riots in Northern England almost a decade ago, where protesting ‘White youths’ were blamed by the media for provoking the Muslims to riot. Notice how, if ‘White youths’ protest and there is trouble, it is the fault of ‘White youths’ for protesting, and if Muslims protest (in a much more provocative manner than the former), any trouble is still blamed on ‘White youths’.

If British people were asked if they support the PRINCIPLE of a free Rolls Royce for every family they would probably say yes to that too. That does not make it a workable policy. The NHS is a disgrace and regularly finishes bottom (or close to bottom) in rankings of healthcare in industrialised nations. Many nurses mispronounce the names of British patients, due to these names being foreign to them. This may not seem important to us now, but when you are seriously ill, it matters.

Patients are viewed as a nuisance, and treated as such. And why would they not be? Satisfied patients are not necessary for the survival of the NHS, where else are they going to go? They just have to shut-up and get back in the queue. In days gone by Public servants (which everyone with a government-funded job is) may have had a good community spirit and acted as such, putting the extra effort in for patients. But in a town in which there is no majority community, community-spirit is hard to find. And anyway, even selfish idiots can be relied upon to treat you well if they are being paid for it, hence the better standard of care, by exactly the same people, if you go private in the UK.

Actually, there is some community spirit in Luton. The Pakistani Muslim community is thriving, growing as it is and covering an ever-greater area of the town. They are not completely satisfied, their mosques are never able to cope with their growing numbers, so they are always demanding more space to worship, the right to build more mosques, and even taking over entire community centres for worship. I think they should turn that Methodist Church into a mosque, I am sure it would stop the vandalism problem.

‘The question is can we keep that up. We can only keep it up if I’ve got the friends and allies in Congress, in statehouses. So even though my name is not on the ballot, my agenda—our agenda—is going to be dependent on whether folks turn out to vote today’

It is very sad, but our own fault. Multicultural Countries are always less free, strict laws are needed just to stop the different communities turning on each other.

Muslims don't seem to encounter these problems, they claim that homosexuals can be killed and escape censure, yet a decent Christian couple who want to bring up a child are banned from doing so due to their beliefs.

There is only so much you can do. Over 99% of all species that are known to have existed are now extinct, as are the majority of nations and businesses that ever existed. It is rare for the neutral to get upset if a business goes bust. Even if more species are dying out now due to human activity, so what? We win.

We are under no obligation to sustain loser species, though it may be beneficial to do so, for nutritional purposes, or even for entertainment and education purposes.

I am sure lions don’t lie awake at night worrying about the fate of the antelope.

I have not read the original article, but it is interesting how liberalism is automatically equated with a lack of conventionality. These days, in the West at least, this could not be further from the truth.

It will go either one way or the other. Either it will split, or they will not only fill the Grecian begging Urn, but will also further centralise powers to ‘stop this happening again’. Merely ignoring it will not work - Greece cannot remedy her economy directly, as she does not have an economy. And the ‘austerity measures’ that could save her will not be taken as she knows her teutonic ‘partners’ will bail her out in the end.

I think that the bail out will occur, and the Euro will survive for now, but opinion in Northern Europe on the EU will sour further. Ireland for instance was one of the first Countries to enter recession, but has cut spending drastically to cope. Why did they bother? It just means more money for Spain, Greece etc. who act like international trailer trash.

Northern Europeans see the EU as a way to avoid future war between European states, a way to compete with the big boys on the World stage etc. Mediterraneans see it as an international social security scheme.

And I don’t think a new sputnik will happen, China could invent a machine that sucks entire landmasses in and adds them onto China’s East coast, and Western governments would say ‘oooooh, but I bet the carbon footprint is massive’ and plant a few trees.

NB: In the post above, ‘contempory’should read ‘contemporary’.

Not only loss of confidence in the sciences, but in everything. Look at the music the Western world pumps out these days, look at contempory ‘art’ (heart-baubel on a string anyone), look at the poetry and novels that are popular in the Western world. The west is a shadow of its former self, a hollow shell.

Their GDP does not need to be anywhere near that of the US for them to be a threat. The birth rate in the cities of these countries has slowed, partly in China’s case due to the one-child policy, but the rural areas knock out kids like they did 5 centuries ago. If the riches of the cities of those countries, as well as the Western Aid thrown at those countries (both of whom have space programs), start flowing into the rural areas, many more will be living to army-join-up age, and that will more than offset the slowing birthrate in the cities (most of the populations of both those countries is rural).

So there is still plenty of population growth to be done in both. Even in the cities of India most families have at least 2 children, with enough having over 2 to keep the population above replenishment.

Contrast with the dying decadent West. Add to that the fact that neither of those Countries has spiralling teenage pregnancy rates, the divorce rates are well under a third of marriages, and the children actually have what has become a dirty word in the West......Ambition, and I see little cause for optimism.

Throw into the mix the well-noted high intelligence of Asian populations and it gets worse (for us anyway). Indians and Chinese born in Western countries seem to score much better than Whites in college exams, and seem to earn more during adult life than Whites, despite following the same cirriculum and sharing classrooms.

Relatively homogenous Nations of over a billion people do not need high wages to overpower weak, decadent dying countries whose populations have little identity and common purpose. All they need is willpower and intelligence - and the 2 major Asian powers have both in spades.

Exactly. There is a culture that says ‘I must go to Uni, the ‘course’ is secondary’, and when these teenagers fail to qualify to study a useful subject they take gender studies instead. They will be saddled with debt, but, like most people now, they live for the moment. The story of our civilisation’s collapse.

I don’t think that Asian countries such as India are going to catch up at all, I think they will overtake us and keep accelerating away from us over the next 50 years. Not only is the East rising, the West is declining horribly. The latter was not occuring (at least nowhere near as rapidly) during the 50s. It will be their world by the end of the century, and there will be little room in it for Westerners (though there will not be many of us around by then anyway).

Could they just not turn it down when they are awarded it? That would be ungrateful enough, but demanding the Queen change her gifts to suit the recipient - these Muslims and Hindus could go in the dictionary as a defintion of ‘ingrate’. It is akin to a child not only expressing dissatisfaction with a present, but demanding it be changed for something else! I dare say the majority of Trinidadis who have won the award are Christian anyway.

Damn, I thought I was doing quite well, but since I am British and not White I am actually unprofessional scum.

By the way, you forgot to laud the Sikhs and Chinese during your little ‘patronise the Asians’ post. The Chinese are even more successful in Britain than the South Asians.

Without wishing to split hairs too much, I have met and liked quite a few ‘ Muslim Pakis’. None of them have gone to Afghanistan to train, and one of them was recently being bullied by her Indian classmates because of the attacks last year. At least you are not the only one making crass sweeping generalisations.
