Tried to get these posted last night but I had some technical difficulties. These are pictures I took yesterday afternoon roughly between 2:45 amd 3:45. I didn't see any violence and only saw one arrest. Some guy wearing a sombrero. The police were very professional and exercised great restraint. It was the Bush Doctrine - overwhelming force. Looking up Liberty Ave. torwards Lawrenceville/Bloomfield. One block over on Penn, looking the same direction.32nd and Penn Same intersection, a little closer Some of the sickos tried to sneak through between Penn and Smallman via Mulberry. An Internet list includes names of businesses, government buildings and university structures around Pittsburgh that protesters apparently plan to illegally target during the G-20 summit, Team 4 investigator Jim Parsons reported. Many of the 100 sites are in the East Liberty, Shadyside, Oakland and Lawrenceville neighborhoods, away from the site of the global economic summit, which will be held Sept. 24-25 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center downtown.

I recently sent an email message to Senator George Allen (R-VA) regarding S.3275, the legislation he sponsored that would force all 50 states and the District of Coulubia to recognize concealed carry permits from all other states. I basically requested that he not let this bill die in committee. Here's his response.. -------------------- Dear Jaxter: Thank you for contacting me regarding S. 3275, the Right to Carry Reciprocity Act. I appreciate your input and value the opportunity to respond. On May 26, 2006, I introduced with bi-partisan support S. 3275, the Right to Carry Reciprocity Act. This bill, which currently...

Ex-miner recalls Sago: 'It was a hellhole' By Robin Acton TRIBUNE-REVIEW Friday, January 6, 2006 SAGO, W.Va. - When you work in West Virginia's nonunion coal mines, one of the first things you learn is to keep your mouth shut. You don't talk about the knee-deep water or the mud or rocks falling onto your helmet. You sure don't complain about old equipment, or tell people that you're worried about safety.

My daughter just called and said she and my grand daughter just had an outdoor mini-interview with Steve Doocy on Fox & Friends. I'm at work and TV challenged but I'd set my VCR to tape the show just in case. My son in law is in Iraq and my grand daughter wanted to say "Hi" to him. Did anybody see this?

I'm not normally a tin-foil hat wearing paranoid, but has anybody in western Pennsylvania noticed the incredible amount of ladybugs? I went for a walk with Mrs. Jaxter yesterday afternoon and the first thing that happened was a ladybug landed on my nose, then another one on my leg. They were all over the place. One actually bit my wife, or at least did something to leave a red mark on her arm. We took our normal 3 mile walk and they were everywhere. I live in the Pittsburgh area and the wife talked to her mother up in Brookville ...

U.S. projected construction of missile base under fire Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- The United States is zealously pushing forward the Missile Defense system (MD) as evidenced by its plan to build an interceptor missile base in Alaska state. In this regard Rodong Sinmun today carries a signed commentary. It says: By getting frantic in its moves to realize MD the U.S. seeks to put into practice with military strength its ambition for world domination at any cost in the 21st century. Its strategic aim sought in MD is to contain other countries by holding an unchallenged nuclear and missile edge ...

California should try to conserve on car chases By DAVE BARRY Incredibly, despite the fact that I have already devoted an entire column to it, California's energy crisis is getting worse. It's so bad that, in some parts of the state, fireflies no longer have enough power to illuminate their own behinds. They must attract mates by shouting into the darkness: ``Blink! Hey! Over here! BLINK!'' This is bad. Because if California can't solve the energy crisis, it will spread to the rest of the nation, and the economy will collapse, and we will become a primitive society where we ...

WHITE MAN SHOT BY POLICE, CONFUSION REIGNS Police in Cincinnati, Ohio shot and killed a white man today, plunging the police department into chaos and confusion. Police officials reported, "We don't know what to do. There's no forms for this kind of thing. Normally we've got fifteen levels of review, but we don't know what to do now. Hell, the Justice Department hasn't even called to ream us out." Precinct commanders dispatched riot units, but not a single case of looting or property destruction was reported. One white man was given a ticket for spitting on the sidewalk and two ...

I couldn't make the rally in Pittsburgh (Oakland) today, but did make it to GOP Headquarters downtown (711 Penn) to pick up some signs, etc. 3 very nice ladies there told me and a co-worker that they had a capacity crowd of 2000 at the rally and they actually had to turn away ticket holders at the door. The enthusiasm is incredible. We're talking about the 'Burgh. A democratic stronghold for years. Also, Barbara Bush is going to be at the Westin William Penn next Friday, 11/3. She's having a luncheon ($25 at the door). You must be registered. Call ...

WASHINGTON (AP) - A top Justice Department prosecutor has recommended a special counsel be appointed to investigate Vice President Al Gore in the 1996 campaign fund-raising controversy, government officials said Thursday. The recommendation, which could impact Gore's Democratic presidential campaign, came from Robert Conrad, supervising attorney for the Justice Department task force investigating 1996 fund-raising abuses, said the officials, speaking on condition of anonymity. Conrad interviewed Gore and President Clinton in April. Conrad signaled activity in the investigation on Wednesday when he declined to answer a senator's questions about the vice president and the president. Officials said Sen. Arlen Specter, ...
