Richmond Police say they are following up a number of leads in Thursday's shooting death of Police Officer Douglas Wendel. Police say Wendel, 41, was shot in the neck after responding to a call near Midlothian and 33rd Street . The call reported two men selling drugs. Sources say Wendel was talking with one man, when he was approached from behind by the shooter. Those sources say he was shot twice from behind, and did not have time to respond with his own weapon.
