  • Trump campaign fact check: Armrests in first class seats did move

Donald Trump's campaign has cited the immovability of arm rests between first class seats on the old Braniff Airways planes to refute an allegations of a 1979 sexual assault on a woman by the candidate. But the armrests did move. Jessica Leeds was among the first women in recent days to accuse Trump of touching them inappropriately. Trump has denied the allegations. Leeds, now 74, has alleged that about 45 minutes after takeoff on a Braniff International Airways flight from Dallas to a New York area airport, Trump moved the armrest between their first class seats and groped her. She...

Trump extends lead from +0.6 to +1.8. There was a significant reduction in the undecideds. They appeared to have broken about 2-1 for Trump.

I haven't seen a full posting of O'Keefe's answers on Reddit last night, and there are some nuggets you should see: I know people want me to clarify that the footage directly involves HRC. Again, the answer is yes. And it's more than that. We've exposed the whole network. The dirty tricks, how they commit the voter fraud, illegal coordination -- is delegated from the top down. And we have all that on tape. And we're releasing different tapes everyday. We have video confirmation of things mentioned in Wikileaks. Wikileaks is important, bus as they say, on paper it's one...

Trump is back up 41.5 to 40.9. This is the first time in 8 days. During the past 8 days, Clinton was up as much as 3.1%. But, take a look at the historical data. Click on the CSV, and it will open it in Excel. Clinton's support has been nearly constant, varying in a small range from 39.2% to 42.5%. Trump has had a much wider swing from 38.8% to 45.4%. Then, look at the undecided column -- it varies from 2% to 8.9%. It's inversely correlated with Trump: when his support declines, the undecideds increase, and vice versa....

The money quote, from Amitabh Desai: Unless Sheikh Mo has sent us a $6 million check, this sounds crazy to do. Context: Ira Magaziner wrote: CHAI [Clinton Health Access Initiative] would like to request that President Clinton call Sheik Mohammed to thank him for offering his plane to the conference in Ethiopia and expressing regrets that President Clinton’s schedule does not permit him to attend the conference. Amitabh Desai responds: Unless Sheikh Mo has sent us a $6 million check, this sounds crazy to do. Doug Band responds: If he doesn't do it Chai will say he didn't give the...

For Fears It Would Trigger Hillary’s Seizure Disorder PIX 11 news anchor Kirstin Cole announced Monday that the Secret Service banned flash photography from Sunday night’s presidential debate hall at Washington University in St. Louis over fears it could “inspire Hillary’s seizure disorder.” “For those of you who watched to the bitter, bitter end of this, did you catch this?” Cole posed to the audience. “The comeback of the cardboard camera. Holy 80s drive me to the photo map, Batman.” “We thought it was a Secret Service thing, banning the cell phones.” Later in the segment, Cole caught a flash...

I just watched the debate on replay. Trump won bigly. This one wasn’t close. And keep in mind that I called Clinton the winner of the first debate, and I now endorse Gary Johnson, primarily to avoid being called an alleged enabler of alleged sex abusers and their alleged enablers. That basket of deplorables includes both Bill and Hillary Clinton (the alleged doer and the alleged cleaner-upper) plus Trump and his alleged misdeeds. Some quick reactions…1. When the Access Hollywood tape came up, Trump dismissed it as locker room banter that he regrets. You expected that part. The persuasion move was...

An element of intrigue has been added to the investigation of the explosion of SpaceX rocket on the launch pad at Cape Canaveral last month. The Washington Post, quoting unnamed sources, says SpaceX is investigating the possibility of sabotage in the mishap, which destroyed the rocket and its payload, an internet-beaming satellite being deployed by Facebook. According to the story, SpaceX sent investigators to a building owned by competitor United Launch Alliance about a mile from the launch pad because it noted something odd on the roof of the building in still images taken from video shot at the time...
  • The Time I Found Donald Trump’s Tax Records in My Mailbox

My colleagues make fun of my old-fashioned devotion to my mailbox. It’s about 30 feet from my desk — among all the other third-floor employees’ mailboxes — and I check it constantly, always hoping a tipster will have sent me some revealing letter or secret document. In Metro, we get a lot of junk mail, and are regularly flooded with correspondence from prisoners in New York’s penitentiaries. But Friday, Sept. 23, was different. I walked to my mailbox and spotted a manila envelope, postmarked New York, NY, with a return address of The Trump Organization. My heart skipped a beat....

  • Huge drop in Clinton enthusiasm for People's Pundit Daily poll

I was looking at the cross-tabs for the People's Pundit Daily poll. This data lags behind for demographics and "enthusiasm", but I was really surprised at the scale of change on 9/21: Enthusiam It's easier to see the results by clicking on the PDF link or the CSV link. If you have Excel, the CSV link is safe -- it's just a text file. Trump always does well in this metric, with 60% or more of his supporters claiming to be "extremely enthusiasic" to vote for him. In contrast, Clinton has never gotten out of the 40% range. But, from...

On average, Democrats (that’s my team (*) see footnote below) use guns for shooting the innocent. We call that crime. On average, Republicans use guns for sporting purposes and self-defense. If you don’t believe me, you can check the statistics on the Internet that don’t exist. At least I couldn’t find any that looked credible. But we do know that race and poverty are correlated. And we know that poverty and crime are correlated. And we know that race and political affiliation are correlated. Therefore, my team (Clinton) is more likely to use guns to shoot innocent people, whereas the...

Millions of Democrats are voting for a presidential candidate linked to an FBI criminal investigation. These voters either don't know there's been a year-long FBI investigation of Clinton's emails, don't care, or would vote for Clinton even she faced Espionage Act indictments. Potentially our next Commander in Chief will be interviewed by the FBI soon, as will her top aides. This state of affairs would never take place in any other leading democracy, but American politics is unique. If the FBI recommends indictments, and the DOJ indicts Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party would be handing Donald Trump the White House...

The Paul Ryan Exchange Speaker of the House Paul Ryan said yesterday, “I’m just not ready to back Donald Trump.” That was an example of good negotiating. “Not ready” means he hopes to be able to back Trump someday, but only if Trump changes in some unspecified ways that Ryan wants. It gives Ryan leverage. It was a strong move. But Trump responded with "I am not ready to support Speaker Ryan’s agenda.” Checkmate, in one move. On this chessboard, a future President beats a Speaker of the House. And Trump makes you think past the sale again, to his...
