Did you all notice (Fox news) that the new Vice President Joe Biden arrived in a motorcade in front of the senate building just as Burris & TV company were told to “move along” down the street by the police. Biden is the new “Head” of the senate and was arriving for the new senators swearing in and he got no coverage at all....none, nada, zip !!!!! hahahahahaha I’m just loving this.

  • Punch Number Two Is Coming. Get Ready To Say, “GREAT MERCIFUL ZEUS!”(Khalidi Tape Being Released?)

    10/28/2008 6:02:37 PM PDT · 52 of 70
    KE to Defiant

Defiant said: The LA Times is the only source for the tape.
I’m not so sure of that. Read below, part of the the original article from the Times, about the dinner Barak was at, April 10, 2008 by Peter Wallsten. (Read in Caps below: It says they got a copy of the taped event, not that they taped it.) So who was tapeing it?

While teaching at the University of Chicago, Khalidi and his wife lived in the Hyde Park neighborhood near the Obamas. The families became friends and dinner companions.

In 2000, the Khalidis held a fundraiser for Obama’s unsuccessful congressional bid. The next year, a social service group whose board was headed by Mona Khalidi received a $40,000 grant from a local charity, the Woods Fund of Chicago, when Obama served on the fund’s board of directors.

At Khalidi’s going-away party in 2003, the scholar lavished praise on Obama, telling the mostly Palestinian American crowd that the state senator deserved their help in winning a U.S. Senate seat. “You will not have a better senator under any circumstances,” Khalidi said.

THE EVENT WAS VIDEOTAPED, AND A COPY OF THE TAPE WAS OBTAINED BY THE TIMES.

Though Khalidi has seen little of Sen. Obama in recent years, Michelle Obama attended a party several months ago celebrating the marriage of the Khalidis’ daughter.

In interviews with The Times, Khalidi declined to discuss specifics of private talks over the years with Obama. He did not begrudge his friend for being out of touch, or for focusing more these days on his support for Israel — a stance that Khalidi calls a requirement to win a national election in the U.S., just as wooing Chicago’s large Arab American community was important for winning local elections.

Khalidi added that he strongly disagrees with Obama’s current views on Israel, and often disagreed with him during their talks over the years. But he added that Obama, because of his unusual background, with family ties to Kenya and Indonesia, would be more understanding of the Palestinian experience than typical American politicians.

“He has family literally all over the world,” Khalidi said. “I feel a kindred spirit from that.”

“She has NOT congratulated Obama on his winning the nomination, and she has NOT said she’s quiting, stopping, conceding, or suspending anything yet. All she has done is congratulate Obama on running a campaign...that’s it!”

And, at 6:30 this evening (Thurs.) it will be 48 hours and she still hasn’t acknowledged he won. How come we have to see Chris Mathews magic number every night, and Lou Dobbs with his countdown clocks all the time, but nothing about this.
Can’t we finish her off with this....where’s Obama Girl? hahaha.

This was the second interview....so when was the first? Do you think it was before he was sworn in? Nah, it couldn’t have been, as we all know a “news person” wouldn’t hold an article for print hahahahaha. the new gov wouldn’t have been able to give that “happy speach” and congratulate every person in the room like he did.

From Article: In the course of several interviews in the past few days, Paterson said he maintained a relationship for two or three years with “a woman other than my wife,” beginning in 1999.

And did you see the other article beside this one on the N.Y. Daily News Site: “I never used state cash to pay for liaisons – gov”. and:
“Records show that in September 2001, then-Sen. Paterson’s campaign spent $456.46 for two nights at what was then called the Quality Hotel at 215 W. 94th St.

One check was dated Sept. 10 — the day before the 9/11 attacks — and the other Sept. 24. Both are listed as “office” expenses.

According to the report, a CTV reporter asked Brodie about remarks by Clinton and Obama that they would seek to renegotiate NAFTA.

“He said someone from Clinton’s campaign is telling the embassy to take it with a grain of salt. ... That someone called us and told us not to worry,” the journalist quoted Brodie as saying, according to the report.

I think BILL CLINTON made the call while in
    canada last week.
This has been bothering me since Mon. when all the talk that day was about hillary missing on plane and was going on S.N.L. that night, all the while, her hubby Billy was in Toronto- March 3, 2008 - The Star.com article:

Go here (can't do links) http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/local/article/0,1299,DRMN_15_4927208,00.html and in the Story Tools Box, bottom link they have the yearbook page (.pdf).

After he says "Though, deep in the future, maybe I shall be the conqueror and live in multiple peace." there is more....

Scroll down further under the Farm picture and it says "ANGELICY FOREVERMORE.......PHILOSAPHY OF A DREAMER".

He named his twin daughters after they died "Angel" and "Innocance".

Meg, thanks for the help with the link.

Choldt, What does ""The following day but one" is the cloture vote" mean?

Also, the other day I read the vote may be delayed due to the fact that some in the Senate are going overseas to some summit, and debating over the week-end won't fit in with their schedule. I can't find the article though.

We all need to read this article by Byron York in NRO today - it gives some insight into the Dems thinking, and senate rules. So far there is no time limit and it seems the dems will talk and talk and talk to delay. A must read.

    http://www.nationalreview.com/york/york200601250920.asp

"But according to Senate rules, once Frist files for cloture, he has to wait three days before holding a vote. And if he wants the Senate to confirm Alito before the president's State of the Union address next Tuesday, he will have to file for cloture soon — before Democrats have actually had a chance to talk for very long. On the other hand, if he waits to file for cloture until it is clear that Democrats are just talking for the sake of talking, then there can't be a vote until after the State of the Union address."

But we go to them hundreds of times a year, possibly an exaggeration ?

My opinion is that this number is low. My father was a City of Pittsburgh Police Officer, and when he died this summer, the funeral director knew him, and did a surprise arrangement for our family. They had a F.O.P. Honor night (Faternal Order of Police).

12 officers came and said prayers and sang songs, and stayed for 3 hours and told stories about my dad and about the police station where he worked. 3 of the woman who came and 2 of the older men told us they do that kind of thing at least 2-3 nights a week! That's over 150 a year, and I would think N.Y. has more police officers than Pittsburgh. (Remember, they go to every funeral - for retired guys also.) Karen

If you watch the show would you listen towards the end where Larry asks each person how or what they think will happen tomarrow. I could swear I heard isikoff say yes 1-2 indictments - And then he said Libby and 1 for the STATE DEPT. !!!!!

Here is what I found in the transcript and it does not finish Isikoffs sentence. ISIKOFF: I think Fitzgerald's going to announce something tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow afternoon, yes.

    KING: Not in the morning?

ISIKOFF: Yes, afternoon. And he'll do it himself. You know...

See, it ends with .....so something came after that? Who could it be at the State Dept. ? Karen

I saw this show on MSNBC on Wed or Thurs night. Tried to wait for transcripts, but Coast to Coast w/ Monica Crowley and Ron Reagan didn't have a transcript. Jeb Babbin was on and he was trying to tell the panel about the Justice Dept. looking into these three (Rockefeller, Dubin, Wyland??) about them leaking the spy satellite info. The panel just let it go by !!! They were really into ripping Rove and ignored this ! Karen

I don't have time now, but we do have our own posts on FR about this. I found a few of them. I think one came from the NYT. I think I just searched LEAK, and found them.

Yes, I was shocked. I heard this part of their speeches last night on Fox News and it hasn't been mentioned since. This was outrageous. They mocked Bush for the way he speaks (and probably millions of people in america that understand Bush perfectly!). And they mocked Americans who would dare act like a puppet and stand up and clap for him.

Excerpt: Mr. Bush delivers the annual State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress tomorrow, and Mrs. Pelosi and Mr. Reid, in dual speeches at the National Press Club yesterday, previewed his challenge.

Both said they don't have high expectations for his ORATORY.

Mr. Reid, compared the president unfavorably to former President Ronald Reagan, whose speeches he recalled being "mesmerized by."

"I was watching what he (REAGAN) was saying and not hearing what he was saying because he was so good," Mr. Reid said. "I don't think that's a danger we're going to have Wednesday night."

Mrs. Pelosi said the bar is fairly low for Mr. Bush to get a good reception — at least from the Republicans who will pack the room.

"You really don't have to have many communications skills to have a couple hundred people who will jump to their feet if you recite the ABCs," she said.

Mr. Reid said he thinks that the administration does deserve credit for doing one thing well — "their ability to misdirect."

You had to hear the tone they used when they were saying this. They put down everyone in America who doesn't speek like they do. This needs put out to Rush Etc. and get out over the airwaves.
