For something on the lighter side, here's a list that someone made of the funniest Amazon product reviews. They range from witty to side-splitting hilarious. In particular, check out the reviews for the "Badonkadonk", which is evidently some sort of privately made tank.

Laura Ingraham was on O'Reilly's show last night, and she defended Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson 100%. No maybes, just a solid defense. Very refreshing. Way to go Laura! O'Reilly as usual waffled all over the place.

SAINT CLAIR SHORES, Mich. (WXYZ) - "Friendly, loveable, playful,” said Brittany Preston as she described her dog Lexie. “She was just my puppy." Preston says she left her dog with her Grandpa at his home in Saint Clair Shores, went to work overnight, came home, and the dog was dead. She says Grandpa has mild dementia and forgot he let the dog out. The dog started barking. Between the hours of 3:00 and 7:00 a.m. several neighbors sick of the noise called police.

The filibuster is far from a “procedural gimmick.” It is part of the fabric of this institution. It was well known in colonial legislatures, and it is an integral part of our country’s 217 years of history. (snip) And it is very much in keeping with the spirit of the government established by the Framers of our Constitution: Limited Government…Separation of Powers…Checks and Balances.

Hillary Clinton spoke at two separate Goldman Sachs events on the evenings of Thursday, October 24 and Tuesday, October 29. As both Politico and the New York Times report, Clinton’s fee is about $200,000 per speech, meaning she likely netted around $400,000 for her paid gigs at Goldman over the course of six days.

  • A US attack on Syria will Prolong the War

    JuanCole.com ^ | 09/04/2013 | Juan Cole
Euphoria at the prospect of US military intervention on the rebel side is incompatible with the kind of “pacted” transition political scientists favor. The rebels will have every incentive to hold out for ever more forceful outside Syria intervention in the coming years. By striking Syria, Obama has all but guaranteed that a negotiated solution becomes impossible for years to come. In the absence of serious negotiations, the civil war will continue and likely get worse.

Greta was in for O'Reilly tonight. One of her guests was John Bolton. Greta asked Bolton if Obama had the authority to strike Syria without Congressional approval. Bolton didn't hesitate for a second. He said Obama absolutely has that authority.

Adolphus Busch IV, the great-grandson of the founder of Anheuser-Busch, maker of Budweiser Budweiser beer, yesterday quit the National Rifle Association in outrage at its role in blocking legislation that would have expanded background checks for gun buyers in America.
  • Mr. President, you won the election, not them!

Presented as a curiosity. Don't bother reading the article. It just calls for Obama to stand up to the GOP. But many Comments were interesting. I was rather surprised by some of the hatred (and I mean hatred) expressed for Obama there.
  • Fort Hood Hero Says Obama 'Betrayed' Her, Other Victims

Three years after the White House arranged a hero's welcome at the State of the Union address for the Fort Hood police sergeant and her partner who stopped the deadly shooting there, Kimberly Munley says President Obama broke the promise he made to her that the victims would be well taken care of. "Betrayed is a good word," former Sgt. Munley told ABC News in a tearful interview broadcast on "World News with Diane Sawyer" and "Nightline." "Not to the least little bit have the victims been taken care of," she said. "In fact they've been neglected." There was no...
  • Brown: Ronald Reagan's Timeless Christmas Gift

Western Journalism article copied onto GOP USA.com ^ | December 18, 2012 | By Floyd and Marybeth Brown
Obama spent his Christmas vacationing in Hawaii. Consider this, from gopusa.com: "Although President Reagan could have spent his White House Christmases with family at his beloved ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif., he instead stayed in Washington, D.C. This way, his sacrifice allowed Secret Service agents and other aides to spend Christmas at home with their families. He was a thoughtful person." Lest some lib think that gopusa.com is making this up, from time.com: (like Clinton) "President Reagan also remained in Washington over Christmas — reportedly so members of the Secret Service could be near their families" Notice Time's use of...
  • Vanity: Looking for good TV/Cable TV dramas. Any suggestions?

A couple of weeks ago I was aimlessly changing channels when I came across CBS's "Vegas", a drama about the mob in Las Vegas in the early 1960's. It's a fantastic show, with a strong sense of right and wrong, and I didn't even know that the show existed. So evidently not all of TV is either mindless reality or bland comedy. Any suggestions for other good TV dramas?
  • Debate Moderator Bias

There have been quite a few comments here at Free Republic regarding moderator bias during the two Presidential debates, and also during the Vice-Presidential debate. Many FR posters have been taking pot-shots at the MSM and the debate moderators. In my humble (and often misguided) opinion, we are shooting at the wrong target. The real target here should be Romney, and his advisors. They agreed to all of this. What else did they - and we - expect? After all, if you pick up a scorpion, you can expect to get stung.
