Maybe, but contraceptives can and do act as abortifacients. It can’t be known in specific cases whether or not they are acting as abortifacients, but the hard truth is contraceptives are probably destroying more nascent lives than direct abortion on a scale of about 10-1. Pope Benedict XVI pointed this out basically saying who can count the numbers of this “massacre” of contraception not preventing conception but implantation.

I can’t believe how empty the Church was where I attended Mass yesterday on Pentecost. Before Covid the U.S. Bishops conducted a survey and said that 24% of Catholics attend weekly Mass, down from about 75% in 1965. After Covid they did another survey and we appear to have lost another fifth, down to 19%. Some say they think it’s closer to 10%. Germany is in the single digits, Italy is down to 10%. Our churches are emptying, a number of old churches are closing, clustering is going on, our emptying Catholic schools are telling people outside the faith they have openings. In the midst of this slow death, it’s the conservatives who have a “suicidal” impulse?! It’s those who basically say, “Something is dreadfully wrong, we need to call the people to repentance and reform”, who are the problem?! In the mist of all this we get an obsession with “Climate change” and Synods where poorly formed/uncatechized, brattish Catholics scream and demand the natural law be changed by the Church to accommodate their sins. Many of the faithful live like the heather world around them. The Servant of God Father John Hardon (1914-2000) said the embrace of contraception is always fatal to the practice of the Faith. When people who live like pagans abandon the Faith they prove some words of Jesus:

The second worst country in the world for the persecution of the Catholic Church is Nigeria, behind North Korea. Mass attendance there is 94% though the faithful are in danger. In pictures of them you see packed churches and women in white veils.

Yesterday in the St. Matthews section of Louisville a man in Muslim garb shot a woman. He was then walking down Frankfort Avenue with a wicked looking weapon strapped to himself. He was spraying bullets to the pavement randomly. He got ahold of someone’s car and left it on the railroad tracks. He was arrested, will be arraigned tomorrow and is on a $200,000 bond. Fox oughta be all over this but I expect a media blackout. The people that run the country have too much invested in Trump supporters as a threat to democracy.

I have my problems with Francis but don’t understand how you can make that statement. When sick babies or injured adults are denied basic life-sustaining treatment and die and it becomes news, he has always spoken out strongly against it.

Interesting topic though. In my home I suffered under heretical Jansenistic Catholicism which goes way overboard on God’s Justice to the almost denial of His Great Mercy which is present even in the Old Testament (Is 1:15-20; Joel 2:12-14). Can result in Scrupulosity.

And yet some people who speak of excess guilt are trying to do away with healthy guilt. When the natural law is broken through abortion, contraception, homosexual acts, or even when the sins are not unnatural but grave, there should be guilt. No to excess guilt but yes to legitimate guilt which is conscience’s way of saying something is off, something is wrong.

A lot of Jewish people were at the forefront of legitimizing porn, abortion, gay marriage and their guilt is not “Jewish” guilt but legitimate guilt. IMO, part of Biden’s anger is he knows many of the evils he defends are wrong. Deep down he knows he’s a fake Catholic.

Think Anti-Christian (Anti-Christ) sentiment is more a sign of the End Times.

Trump is no saint but he’s generally been an effective bare knuckled fighter for conservative populism. Ryan’s running mate Romney may be a good man but he’s a weakling who should have beaten Obama. Wish we could elect saints, but sometimes the sinner is more effective than the saint.

Don’t know what happened but wonder if this will end up on the “48 Hours” types of shows. People are so stupid. They don’t seem to know that their Internet searches and phones can be tracked and that there are cameras everywhere. Police can also read facial expressions and body language and know how to ask questions that can trip people up.

Luther’s errors have resulted in all the nonsense we see today. Catholics and Christians almost universally using abortifacient contraceptives. Catholics and Christians having abortions and justifying it. Divorce, multiple marriages, fornication, lustful thoughts no big deal because one is “saved”, porn addiction, IVF, freezing eggs, etc. How many times do the Scriptures tell Christians not to deceive themselves with rationalizations of their sins?

Can’t believe Trump isn’t going to rethink this at some point. Trump gets some good advice but he gets some horrid advice. Every time he speaks about abortion now I cringe. Throws a wet blanket on his own base. I wonder if he’s getting stupid conventional wisdom advice from Ivanka and Jared and country club Republican types.

This is why I don’t understand why conservatives get so excited about razor-thin or even 5 or 6 point Trump leads in national or state polls when he is still under 50.

I think of this stuff in another way. A while back Schumer on the Senate floor said that he and others had marched with the college students for a women’s right to choose and had marched with gays for their rights and now he was surprised at their virulent Anti-Semitism. “Moron, “ I said to the television, “how many of the young women and men on campuses have had their own babies’ heads cut off in abortion clinics on the Democrats’ advice and now you’re surprised that they don’t care about Jewish babies in Israel being beheaded? Why would they care about the heads of Jewish babies? They’ve had their own children beheaded!” Hook-up culture is big on campuses. But how long before the kids figure out: “I’m just being used like an object.” The kids are told it’s normal to act out homosexually. They aren’t filled with PRIDE from this as the liars tell them, but self-loathing and they loathe others and lash out at them.

Society used to know that lust and anger are closely related vices. People who surrender to vice and unnatural vice can turn into absolute monsters. Liberalism is the death of common sense. Pray for our brainwashed, confused, lost, ANGRY young people.

The casual matter of factness with which so many doctors recommend the murder of a human being. Many handicapped turn out to be a great joy in the life of a family, training everyone in unconditional love. “Love” in our society is so conditional, utilitarian, what do you do for me?
